This bag is perfect, but I found that it just wasn't perfect for me
I love the Kriega bags. I have a R30 as well as the R15. I got the R15 for my normal commutes to hold my Surface Pro 3, 10" tablet and other accessories.

Note that this bag is not designed to hold electronics, but I knew that going in. The back has a curved mold which MAY put a pressure point on your devices if you over pack and tighten the straps so I'm very wary of how I pack my bag.

The build quality on these bags are excellent. You really can't go wrong getting a Kriega backpack unless you're like me and underestimated the amount of stuff you plan to carry.

I mostly needed to keep my SP3, tablet and accessories with me and this bag worked fine for all that stuff, but when I wanted to pack a book and my Audio-Technica ATH-M50 I found that I could only choose one.

After having used the R15 for over a month and a half I realized that it'd probably be better if I got something a little bigger so I could have a little extra room so I'm eyeing the R20 at the moment.

Great Pack
Got this for over-night trips. At first a bit concerned about it being too small, but I managed to fit shorts, shirt, shoes (barefoot type), socks, half-moto cover, and toiletries. Total weight was 6.5lbs. The shape and fit are amazing, compression straps are perfect, tuck all loose straps no problem, zero flapping. You do feel the weight a bit on your lower back on a long ride, but pretty much its a win, my tailbag has always been a struggle to fit everything, and I no longer use tank bags, so this backpack will definitely see more use on those longer trips. Most importantly is that the fit is so secure and bag so small that you can essentially ride exactly the same as normal on your sportbike, knee out and spirited riding is same as always, no buffeting or any noticeable effects whatsoever. I wore it over my bionic air back protector, and air was still getting in there. This pack is very well thought out, and excellent for a minimalist over-nighter, We have a 13inch laptop that could be put in there, but the pack is build kinda curved, so the laptop is not happy in there, but it could work if you put some clothes or something in there to pad it correctly.

Great pack for dual sporting or longer rides
I had been riding enduros for years with a cheap knock off pack hydration system that seemed to work. I did a 100 miles Dual Sport ride which took about 7 hours and I didn't even know the pack was there! I had no idea what I was missing until I tried Kriega. Super quick and easy to take on and off, super comfy even when way overloaded. Sometimes you do really get what you pay for!

Very comfortable, small pack
If you don't like backpacks, this one is perfect since it fits so well and is too small to end up with too much in it. It stays put riding offroad trails. If you 'like' backpacks, this one will always be just a little to small for you, and I would recommend the R20.

great day backpack
The backpack fits snug. It's big enough for a day trip. I carry my helmet lock, sunglasses, water bottle, thin water proof jacket and a hoodie. Has just enough room to carry my gloves in the backpack once I reach my destination. It doesn't move at all when I'm on the freeway. Highly recommend it.

Love it
I was afraid that it would be too small, but its perfect. I mainly use it for taking a few things to work, its about the right size for an overnight trip. The fit is perfect, and the center snap buckle works great, I barley know its on.

Love the fit
Great pack. Stays put, and feels great. Just remember this is the small one, but this is the one I wanted to hang tight, for small items. If you have larger items you want to carry this pack may not be for you, it conforms to your back. So if you try to put bulky things in it, it probably wont work for you.

Yeah, it's a good pack
If you need a relatively small pack for carrying lunch and a few other things then this pack will fit the bill. I own other Kriega bike packs (not backpacks) and the quality is what you would expect from Kriega (very good). The back is slightly curved and fits very well. You really probably don't need the waist strap, which is removable. I myself don't mind having to unclip a strap to unzip the pack, it's really no big deal and I don't know why people always mention this about the Kriega backpacks.

I do feel there are two drawbacks to this pack. First, if you don't have a bunch of stuff in there, you either don't cinch the compression straps or you cinch them and there is too much excess slack to be held conveniently by the little retention clips. You can double back and squeeze it in, but it isn't convenient. (I choose to not compress a relatively empty bag, but this might affect you depending on what you put in it.)
Second, while the curved back is comfortable, it really means that carrying a laptop, or other large flat items that seem like they should fit in the bag, isn't very realistic. Possible, but not ideal.

Everything else about this bag that other folks say is definitely true: quality, fit, finish are very good.

Perfect bag for small loads
I got this bag because I have an R30 which is awesome but sometimes unnecessary if I don't have much to carry. The R15 is ideal when you don't have a ton of junk to lug around. Like all Kriega stuff the quality and design is outstanding. It isn't cheap but I do believe you get what you pay for with Kriega products which is rare these days.

I like what Kriega does. Have several pieces. Wanted something small for around town.
Steven R on Sep 21, 2017
good product, good quality. 15L is not too much of space but you can pack the necessary things. could have more reflectivness on the back.

Smaller pack, trying it out
Sterling P on Sep 23, 2016
Not too small and not too big. I keep a few snacks, first aid kit, and tow strap in mine. On short trips I used a hydration pack inside. Make sure you pull the two side straps to get the pack to fit up on your shoulder blades and not lower back. The pack also helps to keep my Leatt GPX neck brace pushed down.

I had previously purchased the R25 backpack, and really like it, but it is a bit large for my daily needs. The R15 perfectly fits everything I need to carry for my commute and is much more comfortable than the messenger bag I was using before. Comfort and quality is definitely up to the standard I have come to expect from Kriega.
Matthew B on Aug 27, 2016
A friend has one, looked and performed great. Just the right size, only need to use one buckle in the front.

Kriega quality, harness system designed for riding, and just the right size for a day's essentials.

one of the best motorcycle backpack brands on the market. decided to go with the R15 versus the R20 due to the fact that i am a short girl! cant wait to try it out

Can the r15 be used as a day pack on short hikes?
A shopper on Dec 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes, it would work fine. My only problem with the pack is that the main compartment only has one zipper. If it had two zippers like most bags you could get to your things at the top without unzipping from side to side. hope this helps.
Obviously, the Kriega drypacks are waterproof. How waterproof are their backpacks?
John H on Jun 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have the Kriega 15 backpak and attach a 5 drypak to it for most commutes. Since having this setup for almost a year now, I been cought in at least 3 or 4 heavy rain down pours and the contents in each remained dry. Outside of paks was damp but nothing inside was affected. The 5 drypak has a secondary removable liner so I was not suprised by everything staying dry in that one, but thought that the spare shirt and pants I carry in backpak would at least be damp in the areas which were stored around wet exteriors of backpak...fortunately they were never affected. Kriega makes great stuff. I recently just purchased a 10 drypak which I use now as a tailbag for my Monster. Great thing about these paks are that they are interchangable.
will a mac book pro fit?
A shopper on Feb 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The problem with storing a laptop in this bag is that the back of the pack is sturdy and slightly curved. I myself would not store a laptop (13" or otherwise) in this pack without being very careful. I would venture to say that storing a machine in there and strapping things down tight will stress the machine chassis over time.
