Klim Krios Helmet

Four different riding configurations can be achieved quickly and without the use of tools, making the Klim Krios Adventure Helmet the most versatile, technologically advanced ADV helmet ever.

Light and loud
I do not want to go deaf. That Is why I will never use this helmet again. I understand that they only make 2 shell sizes. Since I wear the 3x size, there must not be enough room for padding or sound protection. Still, I think the helmet is too small. My Sena headset will not go loud enough to hear much over the noise of this helmet. I think that says alot considering I ride an RT. Did I mention that the visor leaks? Not a good thing while on a dream ride in Scotland. The process of changing visors is horrible. I don't think the pins that hold on the visor will last very long. I am hoping to get a refund through Klim. My advice, don't buy this lid.

Review
I have a 59.5cm intermediate oval head so i bought the large. It's too big. The revzilla video says the helmet runs big but the sizing chart lists the large at 57-58cm, so i was a bit confused and went ahead and got the large. Did i mention it's too big? Ordered the medium and sending the large back. I typically wear a large Bell helmet and the large Klim was significantly larger.

For those wondering, it does come with a clear face shield mounted and a smoked face shield in the box. There was no transitional face shield included.

Hope this helps someone.

Nice features, good overall value
I was on the fence for a while when I began shopping for an adventure helmet. I am writing this review coming from wearing a Shoe Neotec.
The Klim helmet is a near perfect blend of the three helmets it advertises itself to be.
For an MX helmet, it does work nicely with a set of goggles. It does not, however, flow air nearly as well as an MX helmet. For an adventure helmet, it works great. On the road, I feel no drag as a result of the beak, and it is relatively quiet considering what its intended use it.
I do wish the first detent in the visor was shorter for road riding. The first detent is approximately 1.25 inches up. I personally am not a fan of the longer chin strap, I know its intended purpose is to allow you to keep it through the D rings and put the helmet on with gloves. I find it to be too long and it gets caught on my Klim jacket.
For an adventure helmet that is trying to combine features of an on-road and an offroad helmet, I think Klim did a decent job and I would definitely recommend this helmet.

Great helmet.
Has the usual compromises that all Enduro helmets have, but klim does it fantastically. YOU MUST ORDER SIZE DOWN THOUGH.
I have never worn a med in any helmet, but I do with this one.

Best things: light and comfortable. The only visor that has ever felt tolerable on the freeway, super vertical, And overall cool look.

Cons: price. This is the kind of helmet that I have because it was given as a gift. It is indeed an awesome gift, but I don't think I could bring myself to fork out that much money on a helmet on my own. I like my head and brains, and want to protect it, but I do have to wonder how much I'm paying for the word klim on it. I'm a DR650 rider, so I'm more of a med price helmet sort of guy, but this is a nice luxury to have.

XD4 Convert
After 2 years, I'm finally replacing my XD4 and decided to jump ship from Arai to try out the new Krios, and wow is it amazing. It's crazy light and looks amazing. I love the fact that it comes with two visors and a pinlock, which was my biggest complaint with the XD4, that it had no tinted/pinlock option. As for the sizing, my head measures 59-60cm, but I ended up getting a medium and it fits perfectly and very snug after a 5 hour ride to break it in, with no hot spots whatsoever. I also wore a medium XD4. Shell size is very similar to the XD4 in my opinion. It's also really quiet, but I'm so used to riding with earplugs that every helmet is loud to me at freeway speeds now. Even at 80mph on a naked bike, I could not get this helmet to catch the wind, it's like the visor isn't even there. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Krios.

Outstanding ADV Helmet
I am a Shoei helmet lover for serveral reasons. I value a quality helmet. I have a big head (2XL). I love the features.

I tried on the Krios at a motorcycle show. I was offered 20% off retail but didn't take it. Mistake.

The immediate impression of this helmet is it is lite. The carbon fiber shell does wonders. It also fits my gigantic pumpkin well. It's also definitely stylish.

Pros:
Fit
Weight
Excellent visibility
Lining dried quickly between rides
Includes dark and clear screens with a pin lock insert
Stylish as hell
Bill is easily removed

Cons:
Not the greatest ventilation
Bill creates significant drag at highway speeds
Bill accentuates buffeting
Somewhat noisy
Mouthpiece seems like it will let in a lot of cold air in winter
Lining is diifcult to install.

Other:
Shield attachment isn't nearly as slick as SHoei.

Bottom Line:
I really like this helmet. It's significantly better than my RF-1200, RF-1100, and Multitec for dual sport and ADV riding. It's better than my VFX-W for highway riding. You need to carry the bill in a backpack and wear earplugs for the highway, but it's quite good in the woods.

Love klim
I ride nothing but klim gear for snowmobiling and snoxc and thats what pushed me to go with this helmet. It looks incredible in person, yes they have a video review of it and some pictures here but holding it in person its amazing. Its really light, visor is nice and its build well. i love the strap how it has fleece. No pressure points on your forehead like my bell and i love how it came with BOTH smoke and clean shields and extra hard wear. Its loud but it has a visor, soo theirs your sign. You can take the visor off for the highway and it quiets down some. If i had to complain about one thing, its the shield. The tab to bring it down is on the left side, soo when you slide it down and puts pressure on the shield and un-evenly closes it needing you to apply pressure in the center to get a even shut. Its brand new, maybe it needs some breaking in, but it didnt hinder me from giving it 5 stars!

I'm glad I bought it!
Though the air flow of this helmet isn't the best on the market; it makes up in just about everything else. The extremely light weight along with the form fitting inside, makes this helmet perfect for long distance travel.
I purchased the Krios after an extremely disappointing return of a Nexx XD1 (which is garbage in my experience). The Krios was a true relief, once I put it on. The Quality is above and beyond my previous helmets, especially at the price point of $550. The spoiler on the back is little goofy looking but is actually a well thought out feature. At high speeds, it really pushes the air around the helmet very well. I don't have to fight to look forward after head checks. The visor could provide a little more shade but that would impact the aerodynamics of the helmet I suppose. I could go on and on about the positive aspects of this helmet but with only the above 2 gripes (which are still good just not great); its easier to point out 2 things then list over a dozen of the good stuff.
Bottom line: at a mid level price, you can't go wrong with the Klim Krios.
