Reviews & Questions
The Klim Pro X Knee pad was just slightly larger than the original pad it was replacing on a pair of old Olympia mesh pants. I inserted the new pad without any adjustments. Actually, the Klim pad fits better than the old pad did.
Comfort wise, the Klim knee pads feel great, the knee pads flex with no restrictions. The weather has not been hot since I inserted these pads, so I am not sure if the heat will be an issue.
Protection wise, simply comparing the original pads to the new Klim pads, in my opinion, the Klim pads are way better. One thing to note is when I was replacing the old knee pads, I found one of the old pads had split in two. It would be a good idea to closely inspect all of your gear periodically.
Hope this helps.

They *are* hotter and heavier than the level 1 stuff but unless you're riding in the desert you should be able to stand dealing with it. They can be stiff when they are cold but a little bit of body heat from wearing your gear will loosen them up.
If you're willing to be slightly less comfortable for much better protection (I am), these are a no brainer.

Cons: It's a heavy material. I've worn this in 3 separate jackets. two flannels and one leather jacket. It is a heavy armor that fits very tightly into all three jackets. It makes it difficult to velcro into place. It doesn't feel the best up against your joints but you kinda of get use to it. I'm constantly having to readjust my armor in the elbows.
Final thought: For the safety, I can deal with the damn weight and rigidness of the D30. I'm confident in the armor and level of safety if i ever go down. So if you'er willing to sacrifice a bit of comfort, then get it.
