The new AX2 Air Hip protector is the “Best” option in AXIAL’s good, better, best option in hip armor. The AX2 Air Hip protector is both thinner and more vented than the AX2 Hip protector while offering CE2 level protection, less bulk and better venting in hot weather conditions. The AX2 Air is our highest-level armor protection while offering maximum ventilation. AX2 Air uses a Newtonian material that remains consistent regardless of flex vs AX2 which is non-Newtonian in that the AVP material locks upon impact to spread the load of the impact. AX2 Air is currently the thinnest known CE2 hip (10mm) armor on the market. D3O Ghost armor offered by Icon, Klim, Rukka, and Merlin are only CE1 (6.5mm) and D3O’s CE2 is 11mm.
