great sytle, great fit, poor durability
These shoes were awesome, for about 4 months, and then (as you can see pictured) the clutch shoe fell apart. First the lace broke and so be it, I put in an extra white lace that Dainese supplied...as well I rerouted the laces so as not to have the lace his my clutch and wear like previous. Eventually the extra leather that goes over the lace and eyelet area (to protect them) from the clutch tore from the stitching giving way. Also you can see the inside of the sole is white and "scuffed" looking from the factory, which is a cool style, but only a few months of sun exposure turned them yellow. Granted I live in AZ but still not something I would expect in 4 months times.

I still have the shoes and ride them occasionally. But I have pretty much retired them after buying some A-Stars boots.

To be clear, I love the look, the fit, and the protection...they are excellent in all these areas but at the end of the day durability is what matters most, and so if they can't last at least a year I just can't give them more than a star.

Initially Impressed but now dissapointed
Purchased these shoes about a year ago and was initially impressed with the looks, firmness of the sole and ankle protection. I did find the sizing to be a little on the small side (I bought a 43 but could have gone up to 44) but overall they looked to be a well made pair of shoes. Unfortunately however, since then and after relatively low use and barely broken in, they are already falling apart in two places - both on the right boot around the edge of the exterior perforated section on the inner ankle side of the boot - This section of perforated suede material it turns out is very flimsy. The TCX Jupiter shoes I had previously wore much better with much higher usage but I guess they were not perforated, so the integrity wasn't weakened.

Junk Quality
I've had these for about a month, with normal use. Seam tore on the back heal of the right shoe for no reason.

I've done nothing that would have caused this from abnormal or improper use. Just plain ripped (about a two inch hole showing padding underneath).

Poor Quality
I have had these shoes for under a year and the shifter on my bike put a hole in them. I spent less time on my bike than ever before putting maybe 500 miles on these due to a crazy work schedule. there is almost no wear on the sole. If they were at least as comfortable as a normal shoe I wouldn't mind and just wear them around, but these are like walking barefoot just way too hard. Don't be fooled by the Dainese logo these fall WAY short of their usual quality.
For me these are just way too much for what you get and not nearly durable enough. Regular skate shoes would probably last longer.

Excellent Air Flow
Very comfortable shoe. Great air flow. Super stylish. Not heavy or clunky. Decent protection but not as much as the TCX but I went for air flow and style. I wear 11 1/2 - 12 shoe and the size 46 is good with a little extra room in toe only. I may have been ok with a 45 but think it may have been been to close to tell. They are much darker in color than pics or video shows. Dianese calls them the Air shoes and they are not kidding. Air flows is excellent.

Comfortable, cool summer shoe.
Just got these a few weeks ago, been wearing them on every ride. The shoe is quite stiff at first but breaks in very well and feels just like a normal high top sneaker afterwards. Protection is noticeable in the ankle and heel but doesn't hinder comfort as a shoe you wan walk around in!

Like a beefed-up pair of Chucks.
I was a little worried that the size 46 wouldn't fit my size 12 wide feet. Turns out those worries were unfounded, happily. There were a couple of hotspots during the first ~15 hours of wearing them, mainly on the right side heel area where they weren't quite wide enough for my heel. They broke in after a couple days wearing them to work, and are quite comfortable now, however I'd caution against driving cars in them as the way your foot sits in them can still cause issues with the armor on the heel. Using them for their intended purpose solves that issue well.

The styling is pretty good, although I kinda don't like the tread pattern on the sole (could be more unique, kinda looks like a set of jail-issue Keds or something) or the fact that the sides of the sole come pre-distressed like you dropped the bike in an oil patch on both sides of your foot. I'm kinda hoping that'll wear off eventually.

Comfort wise, once they break in they're quite comfortable as long as you aren't trying to wear them while driving a car. There is plenty of protection where you need it (except for the lack of a shift panel, as mentioned in the video review) and they flow enough air to keep my feet cool in 90 degree southwest US heat. They're definitely more comfortable than what I use for wet-weather riding, which is a pair of Wolverine steeltoe work boots, and they cut down on having feet that would make a troll cringe at 40' when I get home.

The only things I'd change about this shoe would be the tread pattern (c'mon Dainese, at least throw a logo down there or something :D) and the initial shape of the heel armor, although I'm sure that'll wear to be where I need it soon enough. Oh, and I'd probably add the red/black scheme to the D-WP version of this shoe, because why doesn't it come in that to begin with.

Good, not great
Airflow is great, protection offered is very good. These are CE level 2 for abrasion and impact/puncture resistance, CE level 1 for torsional rigidity. They look great and are more comfortable to walk in than regular riding boots. Fit is spot on, too.

The only thing I have from keeping them from having a perfect score is the heel box. It feels like it only comes up half as high as I'd expect, and so it digs into the widest part of my heel. This causes irritation when in the riding position, and then makes walking afterward uncomfortable. I'm not sure how that design made it past all of the approvals, but it's a big miss on this shoe. As I've already worn them, I'm crossing my fingers that they'll break in and become more comfortable.

Good shoe riding shoe if you don't walk far
Good shoe which I wear daily for commuting with decent protection for what it is around town riding. Would not recommend wearing these if I was going on the motorway/highway. I did have a head on crash and flew off the bike with these on and they did the job and had no injuries to feet.

The only issue I have had with build is the stitching on the tongue had worn out in less than a year (occurred before the crash).

The shoe is quite comfortable if you don't intend on walking long distances. I did have to walk a long distance out of necessity in these shoes and the back of my heel got chaffed.

I would've recommended this shoe if the stitching held up.

These things are awesome. The sole is not exactly slip resistant but it is great. It looks casual but has great protection all around. I went down going 50mph with these on and the most the happened was some scuff marks on the side of the shoe, but since the appearance is a little worn out, it doesn't make the damage stand out. Great shoes. I wear them even when not riding.

great styling and (i hope) a little more true to size. I usually wear a 42 - 43 and I initially went with the TCX x-street air as I preferred the more low-key styling but I found I was swimming in the size 43. I ordered a size down and will probably go with them if they fit but I am concerned they will still be too wide for my feet. The Dainese is my backup.

Given the reviews for all the non-waterproof riding shoes that are out there, these looked the best. Also, I like the style. If you're going to be rocking some jeans and want a little more protection than your typical shoe, this might be a good fit for you too.

How size to fit on me for this shoes? I usualy wear 43.
A shopper on Jan 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Follow the Dainese sizing chart UNLESS you have a particularly wide foot. I am a size 10 and after reading reviews and calling customer service i went ahead and ordered up to a size 44 (11 on the Dainese size chart). Well, I just received the shoes yesterday and they are way too long for me. Need to send them back and order a 43.
I normally wear a size 10 US shoe. Some of those shoes say the Euro equivalent is 44, some say 43. Which would you recommend I purchase size-wise for this shoe...43 or 44? Thanks!
A shopper on May 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I wear a U.S. Size 10 also, and I wear both 43 and 44 in European size. My Dainese street biker air is marked size 43. The one thing you also need to be concerned with is that these shoes run quite narrow, so if you have wide feet ( like I do) they will be uncomfortable. Try a size up if you do, I've had mine for a while and wish that I had sized up to maybe accomadate for that. Good luck- and they're a good looking shoe by the way.
I wear a size 8,5 W... due to bunions. Are these a narrow fit like a Converse sneaker?
A shopper on Mar 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the Dainese Street Biker Air from Revzilla in a 43 euro and fit pretty well. I normally wear and prefer a wider footbed in my shoes so I was a little hesitant on purchasing these. However, I tried these shoes on at my local Dainese Store in Chicago and fit pretty good, aliitle tight at first near the toe box. Remember the shoes are leather so there will be a little stretch. I ordered from Revzilla free shipping and NO TAX received them in 2 days. Wore them around the house a couple of hours and fits me like a glove now. Great quality as expected from Dainese and very stylish to wear on and off the bike. Additional advice I can give you - If you wear euro sized riding boots now, order the same size. Hope this helps!
The grey/red shoe looks like orange to me in the video (however product picture looks fairly red). Is that my computer monitor, the camera, or am I going colorblind? Can someone confirm the shade of the color of the logo? Or does it do something like change as it wears?
Connor B on Apr 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: MY shoes are grey/red. Not the slightest of orange. Its a narrower shoe. I have wide feet and they fit little bit tight, but by saying that. They are totally wearable. I just keep the laces a bit loose up throughthe eyelets.
Are the insoles of this boot removable?
Robert H on Jun 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: FYI - I bought these over a year and half ago, I wear them every day to work and they still look good and are holding together.
My shoe size ranges between 11.5 and 12. Which size should I try? I have a slightly wider than average foot.
A shopper on Jan 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Size 46. I was in between to. Not sure about width though. I returned my after they ripped. I now have TCX shoes. Way way better but not the venting like the Dianese
Looking for the same ones from the video and dont see a Anthracite/red option ?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Looks like they either Dianese stopped making them or Revzilla stopped carrying them. I bought the Anthracite/Red ones from Revzilla last year.
I saw there's no heel on those boots, can be a comfort problem on a sport/touring bike? I usually hang my boots heel on the footpegs, But I obviously can't do that with those Dainese.
A shopper on Jun 9, 2017
Seems as though you only offer up to a 12.5 US in any of the Dianese riding shoes. Any idea when you will offer a 47, 48 or 49 in sizes???
Gary C on Feb 5, 2016
I'm a girl but am loving the guy colors far more than those for women. I've tried the 43 in the waterproof version which is comfy, but want something for a hot summer. Will I be the same size in the AIR?
