Great riding pants overall
I finally received these pants after 4 months of waiting. I love the fit and comfort. I own another pair of Dainese, 2 Aether Compass and a pair of Klim, and these breathe the best by far. I love the fact that they're more snug, without being "skinny jeans". They don't flap in the wind and keep the knee protection in place, even when off the bike (I wore them all day at a bike night and they stayed comfortable the whole time, about 7 hrs). All the other pairs I have are looser, and the knee protection shifts around, not to mention possible rubbing after walking for a longer period of time. They are definitely summer pants, which is why I got them, I live in FL. I can't form an opinion on durability and level of protection yet since I've used them only about 5 times and didn't get dragged on the asphalt. The only thing I'd improve are the hip protection pads, they are ridiculously small. I love the knee guards though, they also cover a good portion of the shin. They are a little bulky but that doesn't bother me at all. I definitely prefer them over the flimsy Dainese Pro Shape which offer zero confidence. Overall, these pants are totally worth the price. Comfortable, protective, breathable and stylish without braking the bank (Rokker wink wink). If they enlarge the hip pads 40% and replace the Pro Shape style with D30 style (more solid), I'd probably never wear anything else, I'd buy another 2 or 3 pairs of these. I'd probably buy another pair anyway later on, if my opinion doesn't change in time. I am 6'5" and 237 lbs and size 36 fits perfectly. Keep in mind that they fit a lot like a 511 Levis jean, a little more snug than just straight cut jeans. They fit great over FXRG HD boots, probably tight if you have tall, wider boots. If you have larger than normal legs, these will probably be a challenge. I hope this helps.

Pleasing Purchase!
I am a relatively new rider so this is my first riding jeans and it looks like it has all the protection i would need!

The good:

So I just received them and tried them on, the fit is great, I am a size 31 and ordered the 31 jeans and they fit perfectly at the waist. They are a little tall so they chunk up at the bottom especially that I wear them on the speed and strength run with the bulls sneakers so they don't fit over my ankle. That being said, they also feel like they're baggier near the thighs and more skinny down the legs and ankle. The Pro Kit armour is a bit bulky and makes it tight around my calves ( I have small calves ) but it provides excellent coverage and protection around my knee and down my shin. It also feels a bit tight around the crotch area while standing up, but the elastic panelling made it feel unexpectedly comfortable while sitting down.

The Cons:

Now I live in Saudi Arabia with the temperature ranging from 38-48 degrees Centigrade from March to October. And the jeans are heavy and don't breathe so well so they're not perfect for hot weather environments.

Also, I found that the Pro Kit Armour is not that easy to adjust, but once fixed in place they don't move around much.

Lastly, the armour at the hips was so small I thought it was't there at first. Digging my hand down the pockets I could confirm their existence, but I am very skeptical of their added safety value

In total.. they're great jeans, great bang for the buck, and I love their color. I wore it on my Dianese street darker perforated leather jacket and Shark Raw black matte helmet and it just complemented that blacked out look!

Nice but fit different
Got these yesterday and they are very ice. Fit is smaller in the thighs and especially at the ankles. They are between a regular jean and a skinny jean. Tighter in the leg area than the bonnies. The knee pads are way nicer then any previous dainese jeans and cover lower into the shin area and overall they are very much worth the price. I definitely would recommend them, just be sure on the fit for your legs and boots.

Great quality but bad fit
I wear a size 30 in Levis and ordered the Dainese Charger jeans in 31. I have found that because of the material in the crotch area and the way that they are designed, it is very tight in this area and the jeans are cut much more low-waisted than the normal Levi 511's that I wear. Upon measuring, the size 31 Dainese Chargers are 1.25" shorter in from the area of the jean above the front button (above the zipper) to the bottom of the crotch than size 30 Levi 511's. If it was not for this issue, the jeans would fit great.

Unfortunately, though, sportbike riding means that you are often hunched over which pulls the back of the jean up and further constricts the area. This makes your junk quite uncomfortable after a short amount of time.

Although the protection is great and the materials and build quality are top notch, I really wish I would have taken them on a 30 minute ride on the bike as I would have returned them if I left the tags on.

I'll still keep them and continue to try to ride with them, but I am sad to say that I regret this purchase.

I like these jeans but Hip Armor needs to be upgraded
I recently purchased these jeans for a few different reasons. One of the reasons is better protection with breath-ability. I live in Florida and with the heat and humidity I was looking for a more protective option than wearing just regular jeans but more breathable than the jeans lined with the layer of Kevlar making them hotter. Once I received the jeans I saw what others had mentioned about the very small hip armor. To remedy the situation I removed the Pro Shape armor and the stitching that goes around the upper part of the Pro Shape Hip Pad. That opened the upper portion of the pocket to accept a longer length hip pad. I chose to use the Rev-it Seesmart Hip Protector RV33. However, to provide more impact protection I used two Hip Protectors per pocket. I installed the hip pads with the "nubs" face to face to hopefully gain more impact protection should it be needed. The shape and length of the Rev-it Hip Pads worked perfectly in the modified pocket and they are
1 1/2" - 2" longer covering more of the hip area. I haven't ridden with the jeans yet to comment on how breathable they are. I must say I really like the knee armor that come in these jeans. I have a 36" waist and I chose to get the 37 and they fit great and the fabric is comfortable.

Protective, comfortable, and stylish.
Overall they're comfortable and good looking. I wore these on a weekend trip to my hometown (4 hour ride each way). I ended up wearing them the whole weekend because the normal jeans I packed got dirty when I made a pitstop to go skydiving. At times almost forgot I wasn't wearing normal jeans until the knee armor reminded me.

They're breathable and cool when riding. If you're wearing them around off the bike they stay cool as well. There is one exception, the knees get hot because of the knee armor / double layered pocket for holding the armor.

The only thing I wish was different about these is that the knee pads were easier to remove without taking the jeans off. That said, if I ever end up needing the knee pads I'm sure I'll be happy that they stay in place.

Amazing
Great pants! I wear a 32 with a 30 inseam and I could have gone a size smaller for a better fit around the waist; however, the fit for me else where is perfect! I’m 5’10”, 160lb.

Protection and style!
Thanks to the spot-on sizing chart I was able to pick the right size on the first shot. I was a little worried because I was buying them last-minute before a two-week trip. Luckily they arrived the day before I left and they fit like glove. The adjustable armor being thrown in was a huge plus. It was pretty quick to adjust so it would sit in the right place when I ride, and I never had an issue with them.

My cheaper riding jeans just have a big pocket where the armor can float, and sometimes I feel like they're shifting off my knee. But these stay in place cover more, so they feel a lot more reassuring.

I can't comment on their long-term durability yet, nor have I tested their protection. I feel like jeans, no matter how high-tech, still can't provide the same abrasion resistance as full-grain leather would. But I'm not wearing these on the track, so I feel well covered for my needs.

In terms of comfort, my only nit-pick is that the seam for the stretch panel meets the seam for the pants right in the middle of the inner thighs, which makes for an awkward pressure point if you grip the tank with your legs. This might be a bike-specific and riding-style-specific concern. It was uncomfortable at first, after a couple of days I just got used to it.

The only other nit-pick is I would have liked to have a phone pocket on the outside of the right thigh. I don't like having my phone in the front pocket, but neither do I enjoy sitting on it.

Speaking of pockets, these jeans have no coin pocket at all.

All that said, I like these so much I plan to buy a second pair.

I should of ordered earlier and saved $10.
I just ordered a pair. I haven't received them yet. It's going to take over a month. I could of saved $10 if I'd ordered them a couple days ago. Looks like it just went up $10. The pro-shape hip armor I want is no longer available, that's a bummer. I just hope that the D-store carries them. I am excited to get these jeans so I will not worry so much about not being protected enough while riding. I love my strokeville but the knee pro-shape armor doesn't go down low enough like the kit j.

Great riding jeans.
These are great on the bike and good for wearing all day. The cut is great, but the knee armor is a bit bulky for walking around. I got these thinking I would take the knee armor out between rides. However, the knee armor can't be removed without taking the pants half off, and then its a bit tough to get them in and out. I end up leaving them in all day and barely notice them. Thats my only gripe, great pants, no regrets.

I like that you can remove the knee protection while working, then re-insert them when it's time to ride. These jeans are very high quality, I would recommend them to anyone wanting to increase their safety. They do look like normal jeans, once the knee pads are removed. I do wish they offered them in blue.

Are these true to actual waist size measurements? or more like Levi waist measurements where for example their 32's are actually about 34-35". And with the Kit J armor and hip armor already in place is it better to go up one size?

Will these pants fit over race boots? Sidi Vortice to be exact... Thanks
Piotr P on Aug 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have the Dainese Course D1 boots that have a similar wide profile above the ankle as the Sidi Vortice and the Charger Jeans fits over them. It is a little snug at the tapered opening of the Jean, but once you get it over the top of the boot, it sits well on the ankle. I love these jeans and I've ridden hours in them in one day and they felt great. They're pricey, but I don't anticipate needing another riding Jean for a while. I also think they're made in Italy, so your cool factor will be genuine and legit : )
