Definitely well made, but it's very loose compared to the stock tube...
I have a 2017 Harley Iron 883. Not sure if something is built slightly different from the other guy's review on here (who has the 2016 Iron), but how loose this throttle tube was honestly surprised me. I don't think it works well with the stock Harley control housings either. I'll start by saying that I know how to properly adjust my throttle cables, and easily managed to get those set up perfectly. That is not the problem. By "loose," I'm not talking about too much idle cable slack, or too much side to side movement. This tube is slightly too large in diameter IMO, meaning you get some forward/backward movement on the bar as well. We're talking probably a 16th to a 32nd of an inch too large on the overall diameter. It sounds like nothing, but go riding with that kind of slack. Any kind of bump I hit, I can feel the entire throttle tube moving around on the bar. It's slightly unnerving and annoying, because it doesn't feel solid. I have a "work-around" to this, and I'm sure I'm not the first to do it - I had to use the throttle tension screw (star-shaped wheel under the right-side control housing) to provide enough tension on this throttle tube to actually feel decently solid. You have to get it just right so your throttle doesn't lock when your handlebars are full right or left. I never had to even touch that tension screw with the stock throttle tube, as it always felt solid (the grips just suck from the factory!! Hence why I was getting the tube... new grips as well). I even just bought some Biltwell bars to see if it was the stock Harley bars being an issue. Same result. It's definitely the tube. Anyway, onto my next point, and I consider this a bigger deal. Look closely at this throttle tube, and notice that other than the holes for the cable lugs on the end, you have the same diameter all around. Now take a look at either the stock throttle tube, or the one made by Joker Machine for Harley (for example). You'll see a raised diameter coming off from the lug holes, followed by a cut inward to the lesser diameter on the bottom. I'm not sure this would be an issue on other bikes. But for the Harley control housings, the Biltwell throttle tube can spin freely a little TOO much, believe it or not. Not having that slightly raised portion in diameter means there's no 'catch' that would prevent the lug housings from slipping into the internal cable runs of your control housings. The problem with this, is that where the lugs go on the Whiskey Throttle is slightly higher or larger than the these cable runs (See where I'm going with this?). If you have the control housings on your harley just barely too tight. And I mean, just barely... this throttle tube can get pinned. Very dangerous. I understand Biltwell's video goes over this as a potential issue, but I honestly feel like my control housing on the right side is a tad on the loose side, just to make sure this never happens to me on the road. In conclusion, if you like some serious slop in your throttle, this'll work. Build quality is on point, for sure. Otherwise, I'd go with the Joker Machine tube. Same build quality, plus that one has the open end so you can do bar end mirrors if you want. Just a more flexible throttle tube that gives options IMO. Biltwell grips and bars all the way though. They are awesome! Safe riding!

Looks great, didn't function as well as I'd hoped.
Bought this for some biltwell grips on my sportster bc the grips said they wouldn't work on a stock Harley throttle tube. This throttle tube bound up a bit. Also, where your throttle and idle cables go into it are further apart than stock. Since the holes were further apart, I couldn't adjust my stock cables out enough. I put the stock tube back on with biltwell grips and adjusted the cable in about 2 minutes. I'll hang onto it for a different project. All in all it looks great but wasn't right for this particular project. The small gap between the cables made a huge difference.

2016 Harley Iron 883
I had new bars put on my bike from the factory, along with the hard-type grips. The throttle side felt loose, no matter how the cables were adjusted. I put this throttle tube and a set of Biltwell grips on and I couldn't be happier. The throttle grip is snug, smooth, and the rubber grips feel much better than the hard-type ones.

Typical Biltwell quality
Good product for what it is, even if it is a tad expensive. Nice replacement for the stock plastic junk and allows many options for grips, which I like. Easy install, no real noticeable improvements over stock. Looks like it's made to last.
