Bike Master Lithium Ion Battery DLFP-12-BS

The Bike Master Lithium Ion line of batteries feature the most advanced high-power Lithium Iron Phosphate technology from BikeMaster. They offer ultra high cranking amps in a lightweight and small package that is ⅓ the weight and size of your traditional lead acid. They also feature a built-in charge and equalizing protection board to prevent battery overcharge.

The recharge rate is lightning fast and these batteries can reach full capacity within minutes versus the old style batteries that if quickly charged would merely gain a small percentage of their full capacity. The other advantage of the Bikemaster Lithium Ion batteries is the ease of maintenance. The batteries come sealed and ready for use and requires no additional fluids. This eliminates battery acids leaking out and possibly damaging your paint finish.

  • Before installation compare the original battery with the new one; if the new battery is smaller in any dimensions use the included foam mats to adjust the battery size to adequately fit in the OEM battery box

Great Replacement Option
Came fully charged out the box (multimeter).
Direct fit.
LIGHT weight. Bike feels slightly nimble.
It's smaller too.

Only con I have, are about the terminals.
The nuts for the terminal's screws are loose. It'll take a minute to place em in the right spot, to successfully install the screw.
Could be a pain to those with aftermarket lights and such.

Good Product but...
Got a nice discount with Zillacash so picked this up for around $100 which was nice.

Pros:

-Shockingly lighter than OEM

-More room in the trunk for cables

Cons:
-Location of Terminals was not similar at all for my bike. A simple battery install took 5-10x longer because of having to re-route wiring.

-The nut for the terminal screw is smaller than the width of the terminal posts. This means that trying to tighten everything down was just a nightmare. I don't feel there was a reason for it to be this small and consider it a huge oversight on manufacturers part. Again this only increases install time and gets you angry for a bit.

-Watch out for the foam battery cushion hiding at the bottom of the box. At first I thought the white sticky backing of the foam pad was the bottom of the box and almost threw the box away. Don't make the same mistake, the bottom of the box holds the foam mat that helps secure this battery inside the battery box, its smaller than the origional and it will rattle around without it"

Overall:
Once the stupid nut gets seated and you've rewired your battery cables its a battery and you forget it. Broke my hip recently so I start the bike once a week and it's fired up each time no problem. Will be testing the difference from OEM when I can ride again. I recommend this product, you will be happy you bought this and shocked at the weight savings.

OK Battery
I love almost everything about this battery. It's easier just to write what I do not like about it.

1. The battery doesn't have threaded battery posts. There's two loose square nuts, with no easy way of retaining them while installing your Battery Tender, Optimate, or electric gloves.

2. This was installed in my 2012 Yamaha R1 Raven. The padded battery box insert must be removed for the installation of this battery. But it does include foam padding that fit neatly on both sides.
