Great Charger
This is my second Battery Tender Jr for my second bike. The float feature is great, because it keeps the battery ready to go, and lets me ride on the infrequently warm winter days here in Colorado. Great value for a reliable product!

Everyone needs one of these.
Frankly I'm surprised I went so many years without one of these. I used to hook up the cheap little alligator clips for my no brand charger under my seat every night in the driveway back in the days when every bike I owned had some type of charging issue. Now I pull into the garage, hook up to a pigtail and don't worry about whether or not I'm going to be stuck with no charge in the morning. I guess that's part of being an actual adult.

Works as it should!
Charged up my non-starting Harley over night and it started right up in the morning. My bike doesn't like sitting in the cold, and now I can get it to start right up for my occasional winter rides.

Easy install, great product
With three bikes sitting in the garage during winter it's a welcome accessory. I don't have to remove seats or lift gas tanks anymore with the quick connect giving easy access to charge the battery. Another happy customer.

Exceeded all expectations! 100% recommend!!
I think all the positive reviews and 100% recommended rating says all you need to know. This thing works great and it is very well made. Took me less than 15 minutes to install and the wires and cords appear to be high quality. I mounted the pigtail such that the connector is exposed behind the removable right panel of my Honda VTX motorcycle. Since I must remove my seat to access the battery (requires removal of 3 bolts - huge pain), having quick access to a charging port under the right panel is so convenient. The pigtail also has a rubber cap to prevent moisture and corrosion. Highly recommend. I think its the best one on the market!

Easy to set up and conceal cable. Works great. So far the trickle charger has shut off within a couple minutes so battery seems well charged.

Great charger!
As far as I can tell this is just as good of a trickle charger as any other battery maintainer that I've purchased, seen, or used - maybe better. The unit comes with alligator clips and terminal o-ring connectors which can be tightened down underneath the battery terminals themselves. Either style has plug ends which can be disconnected from the charger itself, allowing for the battery-side connection to remain - which rocks. I use the o-ring style and when not charging I just tuck the connector up into the seat, barely visible.

It works as advertised this is my second one. Inherited first one from Uncle it went kaput after several years. Replaced it with same brand as the old one was what was needed, this one so far keeps my bikes batteries up to snuff.

what is the difference between "Battery Tender Junior" and "Battery Tender Junior HE" ?
Muhammad A on Nov 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The HE is high efficiency and is replacing the JR in the California market. I imagine the HE will eventually replace all the older models. The 12V HE is twice the price of the Jr, but the charge method and rate are the same, as is the float feature... so I bought a second Jr because the only difference I can see is the HE draws a little less power over longer periods because it is more efficient.
There is a port to connect with a charger. Does this charger have the proper lead for this mototcycle? The manual says NOT to charge the battery (unless thru the port) .That means taking off the seat, etc, etc. If it comes with the lead great, or include one if you fill this order,ok? Thanks lorin
A shopper on Jul 10, 2011
BEST ANSWER: It doesn't - you'll have to buy a powerlet adapter if you want to plug in to the port. Note that if you go this route, there's a key on/off procedure you'll have to follow or the port will shut off and the battery won't receive a charge.

Anyway, I've had six BMWs, two with CANbus electronics whose manuals included the same disclaimer you mentioned. I was wary too, but after some research I found I was able to safely use the Battery Tender with it's included harness kit to charge directly to the battery, which I did. Note that Battery Tender ships two different harness kits; one with an in-line fuse, one without (I think the BT Jr. doesn't have the in-line fuse). I recommend only using the fused model.

BMW sells an OEM branded charger you can plug directly in to the factory powerlet, but many prefer the Battery Tender and think it's a better product. I'm one of them, as are quite a few good staffers I know at BMW dealerships around the country.

If you'd like more info, you'll find a lot of chatter on this topic on sites like ADVrider and other BMW specific forums - just do a Google search.
Hi all, i ll be using this product in the UK where power is 240v. Will this charger work or does it work only with 120v? Dont want to buy it and burn it as soon as i plug it :). Thanks
Andre D on Oct 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Andre,

Absolutely 120v only! I live in Germany. I bought two Juniors and plugged them into a 120 v converter. Both blew, but fortunately the manufacturer replaced them. The converter has worked well for 3 years with all other 120 v appliances. Then I bought the waterproof 800 - works well with all voltages - that's what you want!

Hello, i was wondering if this product is suitable to be left outside, like underneath a car port.? I am looking for a battery tender to use over the winter while my bike is in storage.
Dakota P on Oct 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine stays outside all the time under a car port with no problem and we do get snow and rain with wind in Crestline and its been outside for over 2 years and still works like it should. I think if the temps got down to 0 then as Chris said take every thing inside. Mine has worked down to 18f.

Can you use a battery tender with a Shorai lithium battery??
A shopper on May 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I believe so. I have a small collection of bikes, and everything that is a rider I leave on this tender, the Yuasa 1.25 model, and the Battery Tender 4 bank multi.
About 3 bikes have a Shorai in them, and i havent noticed a difference. They get switched around at times, depending on what Im riding.
Check with Shorai just to be sure, Id hate to give you bad advice, and Im not a battery expert!
I need a battery tender to use on my bike. I have a 2008 Kawi zx10r. I like this one but i'm not sure which voltage to get. I assume this would work and the voltage should be 12V but can someone please confirm for me?

Thank you
A shopper on Feb 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: If it previously had a Deltran battery tender then this will plug right into the port underneath the passenger seat. If it was not a Deltran it's ok because this will come with a new port you can hook up to the battery and run up underneath the passenger seat, making it easy to connect and disconnect. Oh and yes 12v is the way to go, have one these for my 09 GSXR 750 and 07 R6, they work great!
Can this tender be used on ANY motorcycle?
A shopper on Feb 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes,I think so as long as u have the female output already out
Do I get the 6 volt or 12 volt for my 2013 Harley V-Rod Muscle?
