Great Riding Jeans
This is an awesome riding jeans! Very stylish, slim-ish and relaxed fit but comfortable. Just order one size down as the waist size is not accurate.

Fits way too big. Go at least a waist size down
I ordered a 32 waist thinking that because it is an Alpine Stars product, it would fit smaller (their jackets are very form fitting). They came in the mail and definitely do not fit like a normal 32 inch waist. I probably should have gotten a 30 long or even a 28 long if they existed. Not happy with the fit.

Strange pants
I was looking for a riding jean that wasn't baggy and thugin' so I went with the Oscar Charlie. I read all the bad reviews but decided to try because I was desperate for a new jean. These things are shaped weird. As other reviews state, the waist is huge and low. I started with a size 32 and then got a 30. Waist was still too big and crotch too tight. The material stretches, but still it is very uncomfortable to wear on the bike and to walk around in. I do not think the material will give any protection in a crash. They seem to be style pants with a huge price tag.

nice jeans, uncomfortable knee pads.
Like all of Alpinestars' products I own the quality is excellent. The jeans fit well but because of the inner lining they are very warm, especially in this CA heatwave. My one complaint is that the kneepads are too uncomfortable for all day wear so i took them out. Thankfully I haven't had to test the jeans' durability. All in all they're good jeans but I prefer my Dethkillers.

Very good.
They are good looking and nice feeling. True to size,a little bit like slim fit but not too tight. The material is good, feeling better than Dainese 's jeans. The gear on the pocket looks cute.

Runs 1 Full Size Larger Than You Wear/No Hip or Tailbone Padding
**WARNING**>> GET ONE SIZE SMALLER THAN THEY SUGGEST

Great jeans, but I am a 100% TRUE size 34; and 32 is actually size 34, so buy accordingly so you do not waste your 'valuable non-riding with them time' with all the RevZilla double purchase-antiquated-return hoo-haa necessary should you get the wrong size for you (versus the contemporary online retail standard of immediate and automatic RMA replacement for 'NO ADDITIONAL COST AIR FREIGHT' like the rest of the online retail planet! Have to buy them again?!?! Huh?!$?!) in order to quickly remedy the Alpinestars obvious sizing issues. So buy the next size down. Also they have 1% spandex (elastane) that move and stretch (see video review as well), and enough polyester (4%) that they will not shrink enough to affect the fit. So do yourself a favor, and go the one size smaller on these -- for sure!

Second, be mindful that these are more fashion than sport, as they do not have any hip or tailbone padding. None whatsoever. Nor do they have pockets for them to be added later, either.

But if you're looking for the goto work, or a date, or not be Mr. Overgeared Astronaut standout in that restaurant or café, these are those jeans for sure! They look awesome (either colors as tried both) and normal fashion-wise, taper slim - but not too slim (if you know what I mean - not 'metrosexual'), and only do the knee pads stick out a little bit (if a concern then go with the darker Indigo color as that color makes them nearly undetectable - even in bright light) as the sole hint that you have your ride waiting outside.

Summary: A quality fashion jeans that lets you cruise to that café in style and safety, and does not stress you out should the speeds to get there pick up in the twisties on the way!

Great looking, great protection, VERY BIG
As other reviewers have stated (and the reason I had it right the first time, thank you all) they're TOO BIG.

I normally wear a waist 32 in almost every Levis cut, but went with a 30 and that's even a bit big for me but manageable with a belt and comfortable over the long run.

Plus side, stretchy slim fit (slimmest moto jeans i've ever worn, even more than the Strokevilles I just bought) so they have a great vintage, cafe, inside-the-boot look.

Protection fits ok in a riding position, so we're good there even though they're a bit big at the waist.

Very Comfortable on the Bike - Strange Fitment
I just got these jeans and they are extremely comfortable. They are well made, and the materials used are high quality. The only objection I have to these jeans is the bizarre fitment. I wear a 34 in regular jeans (AG, Hudson, Citizens for Humanity etc.), so I ordered a 34 in the Charlie, in hopes that there would be some extra room (based on other reviews) in the waist for long rides on the bike. There is room, and I mean like a tremendous amount, like two sizes up in the waist. I guess this is okay on the bike, because there is no waist tension, but walking around you need a belt to keep them up. The rest of the jean fits pretty well, but the bottom of the legs, near the ankles, are really tight - so much so, that if you pull them over your boots (which you can because they stretch), you will see a silhouette of the shape of your boot in the pant legs - which looks strange. This also becomes a problem when you dismount, because the pant legs ride up and stay up on the boots, because they are so tight around the ankle area. So you have to pull the cuffs down on your boots after you dismount. I wish they were a tad more roomy in the cuff, which I suppose could be modified by a tailor if desired.

Great Style - Poor Dimensions
I am 6', 175 pounds with a 32-33 inseam. I wear a 32 waist in all of my street jeans (Diesel, Levi, etc.). I wanted a pair of riding jeans that were similar in style and fit to my street jeans (low wasted and tapered). Ordered a size 32 per the size chart and by the comparison fit to "High Viz Brian". When I received them, the style was spot on for what I was looking for. Trying them on, the length, the inseam, the knee armor placement, the hips and seat were perfect. The only thing that was off, and I mean by a lot, was the waist. It was like a hula hoop and totally disproportionate to the rest of the jean. I tried with a pair of cargo shorts underneath and it was still ridiculously loose and still way out of belt range. Unless you have a substantial gut that starts below your belt line, I can't think of one body type that this cut would fit.

Hoping this was a one-off manufacturing defect, I ordered 3 more pairs: 1 - 32 and 2 - 30's. It was not a one-off defect. The second pair of 32's was cut exactly the same. The 30's (I haven't worn 30's since I was 14) had a much closer fit in the waist (still loose - easily managed with a belt) but the length was short and the fit was unflattering and uncomfortably tight everywhere else. FYI: Size 30 would be perfect for someone 5'9, 160 pounds, 30 inch inseam, 32 waist street jean.

I really love the look and style of these jeans and made a pretty good effort to make them work. In the end, they just didn't. I ended up exchanging for the Dainese Montana 4D in size 32 which offers somewhat less style and quality (price also reflects that) but the size, fit, and comfort is equal to street jeans.

If A-stars ever recalibrates their Oscar Charlie dimensions, I would definitely try again.

Comfortable but Weird Sizing
I am 6'2 180lbs and have a measured 36" waist so I thought, "well these are expensive jeans, they should not have vanity sizing." I ordered a size 36. When they came in the mail, the quality felt good and heavy unlike a pair of Levis. However, when I tried them on, I was able to stick both of my arms down my pants lol. They were that loose. I have a 34" inseam and in that department they were okay. I can't order two sizes down, because I am sure that my inseam would be too long for smaller sizes. The knee pads were flexible and comfortable but are not adjustable and the Kevlar material is thin which left me questioning their protective abitiy. In the end, I sold them on Ebay and bought a pair of Maple Moto Jeans (now out of business), as a replacement, which were better in quality, fit, look, and protection. Step up your game Alpinestars.
