Don't Choose your Jean Size for These--Great Pants
If you want to avoid getting the wrong size, take the time to measure yourself as directed by the size chart linked above.

Don't let pride lead you to get the wrong size. No one likes to acknowledge that their waist size is actually 3-4 inches greater than their jean size, but I did and got the right pair of pants the first try (mostly because of the feedback from other customers).

I ordered a Euro 56 Short. I am 6'0" and about 190-195 pounds. I have an athletic build and am neither ripped or pudgy. I typically wear Jeans (Levis, Ariat, Old Navy) sized 33-34 W and 32-33 L.

I measured my waist where the sizing chart tells you to (around navel height) and I measured about 37.2 inches without pulling the tape tight. I ordered the 56 which I believe is in the range of about 37.5"-39 inches in the waist because I wear the bionic armor shorts underneath. Had I ordered a 54 and NOT worn the armor shorts, size would have been perfect.

I ordered the length "short" because I have a long torso and shorter legs for my height, and because the 56 size was rated for someone about 2-3" taller than me. I am not certain I would have ordered "short" had I ordered the 54 but probably would have.

So, if you want a great pair of pants, get these. And if you want to avoid the headache of returns, DON'T base your size on your jean size and DO measure yourself correctly even if you don't like the measurements.

I hope this helps out.

Great Quality - Mind the size
I'm 5'11", 205 with a narrow waist, long legs and thick thighs. Years in the weight room have left me with a hard to fit physique. I typically wear 34W X 36L jeans, so when I ordered these pants (knowing that my legs are thick), I looked at the waist size and went up one. That put me in a 52 (36" waist).

When they arrived I couldn't wait to jump in them, but I discovered that was impossible. I could get them on, but they were so tight on my legs that I couldn't pull them all the way up. I could close the waist, but it was snug. I had to return them (thanks Revzilla for the excellent customer service). I studied the size chart more closely this time and decided I had better fit my legs and not worry about the waist. The waist can be adjusted a little with the velcro and I'm going to be wearing them zipped to an Alpinestars Atem jacket anyway, so they're not going to fall off... I measured my thighs and discovered that I actually needed a size 56 to fit them! (up TWO sizes from my normal waist size in jeans). I placed my order for the size 56 and they showed up on the doorstep one week later.

Excited once again to jump into them, I slid them on and found that the legs fit perfectly and the waist is large (as I expected. I tightened up the velcro a little and after zipping them to my jacket, I'm sure the large waist won't be a problem. The quality of the pants is outstanding. The lining, zippers, padding, and armor all appear to be of the highest quality. The leather on the front panel is perforated, so hopefully that will help with airflow. The stretch panels are well placed, so that getting into a riding position feels very comfortable.

Great pants, but unless you're a skinny-legged joker, measure your thighs and get the right size!

Amazing pants
My jean size 31-32w, 30L. I got size 48 regular which is 31211515-10-48 fits perfectly. Lots of air flow and protects very well. These are the newer version the picture ya see on revzilla is the older version which is discontinued from alpine star.

Great pants for intro 2 piece suit.
I bought these pants as part of my first track suit and for more spirited rides. Like other reviews say, be honest with your sizing. Use a suit or similar pair of tailored pants to compare measurements. I wear a 33wx30l in jeans, and my suit pants are 35wx31l. The 52 short may have stretched to fit properly, but the 54 short is dead on, with a little more room to move and much less stress on the knees/waist/calves.

Easily integrates with my astars jacket as advertised, and the airflow model breathes extremely well with the perforation on the thigh and stretch material around the groin. Knee pucks are great for the occasional touch down in the twisties, frequent track riders may want to swap them out for the astars GP sliders. Overall I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.

Tall size really made a difference, improved design as well.
I have several sets of race pants and this is my first one in a long version, I really think the extra length is providing better mobility since the accordion at the knees are not max'd out. I am 6'1", 180lbs and wear 33x34 jeans and have stuck with size 50 on most of my moto pants due to my thin lower body. This results in tight pants, but 52's are typically too baggy. I have the waist adjusters velcro'd about as far to the end as you can go, to the point of allowing the stretch material to expand. At first, I thought they were way too tight cause I could barely get into them, but as they warmed up they started to feel really good and less tight than my A-stars track pants which I have had for several years.

The other nice thing to see is in just the past 5 years moto Mfg's have evolved quickly to improve comfort and fit. These pants have a lot more stretch material in the crotch resulting in much better ability to get the knee out and feels better in the saddle. Granted, I have only done a short ride, but I just rode with my track pants #old version# last week and these feel a lot better, not just due to the long version, but due to the improved design.

Finally, my old track pants do seem to have better armor and leather, and more flash with the logos, but the appearance of these is acceptable and the improved comfort definitely makes me glad I got them. I think A-stars should include some more versions #e.g. black-white, and black with logos# since this appears to be a solid alternative to the track pant, but make sure and include long versions. I haven't tried the new track pant, so it might be a win as well, but the price is getting a bit high on those and I already have the old version which is still in good shape.

Very nice pants.
I'm 5'9" 145#, I'm skinny and have long legs and a short torso, I wear 40regular suit jacket, 32x34 slacks/jeans. I ordered size 48tall, they're perfect. The velcro adjusters at the waist are cinched pretty much all the way down, the length is perfect.

Small note, one of the front seams near the upper left leg has a spot where it looks like the sewing machine ran out of thread and they started a new one by just looking over the end of the other... Probably just cosmetic, I'm sure it'll be under warranty if it unravels, I will update if it does.

Awesome!!
Ive had a pair of these for 3 months now and love wearing them. This is my first pair of riding leather pants and i was worried that they would be uncomfortable when riding in hot weather. I was wrong. These pant work great in warm weather. I live in SoCal and ride in 95+ degree weather. These pants breath really well, and keep my legs comfortable. Protection is really good. Fit on these is really small. If you can try them on, it would be a good idea cause i ordered a size 32( us ) and they fit good but were to tight in riding position. Also, these are true to A* fit. If you got some beefy legs these might not fit well. Pricey pants but i don't regret buying these at all. Bough a pair of the Agv willow pants, and while the protection was just as good the cut was really baggy and the grain of the leather wasn't as nice. These were much nicer.

Sizing Completely Wrong
I am 6ft tall and 185lbs. My jean size is a consistent 33 waist and 34 inside leg. This is my first ever pair of leather riding pants, so I followed Revzilla's recommendation of size 50 tall. My legs are quite thin, but I could barely get these pants over them. I finally managed to do up the fly and the waist and I am unable to sit down in them. How on earth they came up with their sizes I don't know, but they're not even close. I'll be sending them back tomorrow.

Sizing all wrong
I recently purchased these pants to go with my A* jacket. I'm 5'11" weighing somewhere between 145 and 150 lbs. I'm a pretty skinny guy, but with an athletic build. I bought the Alpinestars GP Pro leather jacket in a size 48, and it fits me as if it was custom made just for me. The pants here are a whole other story.

After studying the sizing chart, I went with a size 50. When the pants arrived and I tried to put them on, I immediately knew something wasn't right. The pants fit well around the waist, but had LOTS of room in the seat, crotch, and thigh area to the point where I could grab fistfulls of excess pant. Then when i tried to zip the calves closed, I thought I was going to pop a zipper it was so tight. I sat on my bike and put my feet on the pegs and the base of the pant pulled up out of my track boots when my knees bent, revealing some of my lower leg skin. They were not long enough.

I'm not sure what build these pants are made for, but clearly not mine. The material is fantastic and the pants seem to be very sturdy and protective, just wish the fitment worked out. I returned them the next day thanks to revzilla's outstanding customer service, and am now looking into Dainese Drake pants for a more relaxed fit.
