My Riding Experience
I've been riding full time since 2017, so that's about 8 years now. On average, I was putting down around 19,000 to 22,000 miles a year between commuting and leisure riding. I used to live pretty far from work, so riding five days a week, plus taking the long way home most days, really added up. All in, I've logged well over 100,000 miles. Honestly, the only time I ever really took a break from riding was to sleep or handle family responsibilities like taking my kids to school. Even then, I managed to do a couple school drop-offs on the bike, just not too often, haha. Oh yeah, and when I lost my feet. That prevented me from riding a bit then too lol
What's In The Garage
2015 BMW S1000RR, 2022 Yamaha R1 Special Anniversary Edition, 2014 Yamaha R1, 2008 Yamaha R1, and a 2009 Yamaha R6. The BMW S1000RR was the first bike I rode after becoming an amputee. I'm currently in the process of downsizing to one bike and I plan to keep the 2008 Yamaha R1, the one I rebuilt after my accident.
My Bucket List Ride
Riding the Pacific Coast Highway, carving through the Tail of the Dragon, cruising Route 66, taking in the Blue Ridge Parkway and eventually tackling Stelvio Pass in the Alps are all places I'd love to take on. I may not be able to experience them the same way as before, but I ride now with purpose, for those living with disabilities and for those who can't, giving every mile a reason beyond myself.
