Zach Parham named CEO of Comoto Family of Brands

Dec 14, 2023

Zach Parham, an avid rider who has been immersed in motorcycling and motorcycle businesses his entire life, has been named as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Comoto Family of Brands, effective immediately.

Comoto is the parent company of RevZilla, Cycle Gear, REVER, and J&P Cycles, the company begun in 1979 by Zach's parents, John and Jill Parham. He replaces Ken Murphy, who has served as CEO for more than four years and is now leaving the company to pursue another opportunity. Parham's promotion means that Comoto will now be led by an industry insider whose career progression has included everything from sweeping floors at his parents' store as a teenager to serving as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Comoto.

"I have been an avid motorcycle enthusiast my entire life and I am thrilled to lead the Comoto Family of Brands and our dedicated team," said Parham. "I look forward to working with our long-standing supplier base to bring even more great products and services to our consumer base. I also want to thank Ken Murphy for his leadership and mentorship over the past several years."

It's not an exaggeration to say that Zach Parham has been involved with one of the key components of the Comoto Family of Brands his entire life. His father, AMA Hall of Famer John Parham, started J&P Cycles even before Zach was born, attending and organizing swap meets, as well as running his original shop. That evolved in the 1980s into a mail-order catalog business. After graduating from college, Zach joined the family company and was part of the push to expand into online business. Zach carried on as president of J&P after his father's death in 2017.

Comoto acquired J&P Cycles in early 2020 and Zach has since served in key leadership roles in the company.

"Zach's lifelong passion for motorsports, starting from his early days at his parents' business, J&P Cycles, uniquely qualifies him as a natural leader for Comoto and the broader industry," said Jeff Teschke, a member of the Comoto Board of Directors and a partner at Prospect Hill Growth Partners. "His extensive experience, ranging from retail store manager to president at J&P Cycles, has prepared him well for this new role. Since joining Comoto in 2020, Zach has excelled in positions such as Chief Merchandising Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer, successfully guiding the company through rapid growth, complex integrations, and challenging business environments."

"My earliest childhood memories revolve around motorcycles and this industry, making me incredibly excited about the chance to serve the rider in my new role," said Parham. "The Comoto Family of Brands boasts an impressive legacy, and I hold a strong sense of optimism about the direction we are heading in the future."
