Video: Electric vs. WSBK vs. big-bucks supercar

Aug 23, 2016

Yeah, it's been done plenty of times, but I never tire of watching lowly motorcycles smoke quarter-million-dollar supercars. Plus, this video adds an electric twist.

This video features an Energica Ego, a Pedercini Kawasaki team ZX-10R in World Superbike trim, a stock Kawasaki ZX-10R and a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570 in a series of drag races.

Lessons learned:

  • A World Superbike is a fast machine and the main challenge (whether relegated to electronics or human skill) is keeping the front end down.
  • Nothing beats 144 foot-pounds of torque available at zero rpm if you want to get off the line fast.
  • You should definitely buy the Lambo if you want to impress social climbers and if you absolutely have to have air conditioning and heated mirrors.
