Hey, ZLA Army, here’s your chance to make us proud and win yourself a free trip to Road Atlanta in the spring for a weekend of MotoAmerica racing.
MotoAmerica is running a contest to name its new-for-2018 racing class for twin-cylinder motorcycles. As part of a complete overhaul of its race classes, MotoAmerica created a new class for middleweight twins in the 600 cc to 850 cc range, which are already popular in amateur club racing. MotoAmerica calls the class “the tuner’s dream” because a lot of freedom is allowed for engine modifications.

The new class needs a name, however, and that’s where you get a chance to win some prizes. Fans can submit ideas for a name and MotoAmerica will choose four finalists that will be put up for a vote on social media.
I’ve read the Common Tread comments section and I know how much creativity is out there. I’m counting on one of you folks to win this since there’s probably some fine print that makes me ineligible. If your idea makes the final four, I’ll shamelessly trumpet your achievement to all 14 of my followers on Twitter and I might even be able to talk Spurgeon into mentioning it on that Instagram thing.
Far better than that are the prizes MotoAmerica is offering. The grand prize winner gets two hospitality tickets to the races at Road Atlanta, two airline tickets to Atlanta, a rental car to get to the track, two nights in a hotel, $200 in spending money and some MotoAmerica gear. Not bad. April is a pleasant time to visit Georgia, too.
If you’re one of the finalists but not the grand prize winner, you still get a year’s supply of Liqui Moly lubricants and additives, a set of Dunlop motorcycle tires or a MotoAmerica Swag Bag.
So, fill out this entry form (yes, I know, they’re also harvesting e-mail addresses) and give it your best shot. And if you win, don’t forget the ZLA sticker for the rental car.
