Introducing the Zillabot 3000 personal riding coach

Apr 01, 2025

At Common Tread, we’ve always been strong proponents of continuing education for riders, in the belief that we will enjoy motorcycling even more as we improve our skills. But we also recognize that the costs of taking courses and traveling to distant race tracks can weigh heavy in these inflationary times. So: RevZilla to the rescue!

Introducing the new Zillabot 3000™ AI-powered personal riding coach!

RevZilla is harnessing the power of AI and other cutting-edge technologies to give you personalized, regular feedback on your riding skills so you can continuously improve and enjoy the ride even more. The Zillabot 3000™ follows the path blazed by other innovative products from RevZilla, such as the E-Z Rider, for taking your tot along for the ride, or the Spurg Sponge, the ultimate detailing accessory for your motorcycle.

The Zillabot 3000™: The specs

The brains of the Zillabot 3000 is the control module, which contains an inertial measurement unit, 360-degree radar awareness, and a highly sophisticated GPS system that can pinpoint your location within inches and calculate your speed, rate of change (both acceleration and braking), trajectory, lean angle, and other pertinent data. Due to its small size, the control module can be placed under the seat of your motorcycle or in another secure spot. It connects seamlessly with your existing Bluetooth communications system or you can choose the optional heads-up display as shown in the photo above. (Don't worry. This image is for illustration purposes only. In real-world use, the text is reversed for easy reading by the rider.)

We realize not everyone learns best by the same methods, so the Zillabot 3000 comes with three Instructional Modes: Drill Sergeant, MotoGP Crew Chief, and Soothing Therapist. Just choose the approach that works best with your learning style. Also, there’s the ASK AI function. If you’re ever unsure about a specific riding technique, just say “Hey Zillabot” and ask your question.

Zillabot 3000™ is available now from RevZilla at a price of just $4,120.25.

Testing the Zillabot 3000™

RevZilla’s team of expert test riders used the Zillabot 3000™ in varied and demanding conditions to see how it performed. Here are some of their testing notes:

Test rider code name: Turbo Toad
Conditions: Street, overcast and cool
Mode: Drill Sergeant

The Zillabot 3000™ in Drill Sergeant mode provided demanding feedback as I rode test route ZLA-117. Examples: “You call that a late apex?! Maximize your sight lines through the corner, rookie!” “Proper preparation prevents piss-poor performance, which means cover the front brake lever! We’re not out here training for fun. Lives can hang in the balance in an emergency.” “Did you really just upshift at 3,700 rpm coming out of a corner? I want you to stop at the next safe pull-off and give me 20.”

Test rider code name: Foaming Wolverine
Conditions: Track day
Mode: MotoGP Crew Chief

I tested the Zillabot 3000™ during a full track day. Here’s some of the feedback: “Jorge Martín achieves a 60-degree lean angle. I understand you’re not on a MotoGP bike, but you could at least get more lean angle than Jorge Martín’s grandmother on her Vespa.” “You let that Ninja 500 pass you? You’ve got a 300 cc advantage. You’ll never be a champion if you don’t stop being the nice guy.” “After this next session, we’re going to review some materials on trail braking.”

Test rider code name: Secret Bunny
Conditions: Mild off-road
Mode: Soothing Therapist

As you know, I had to take half a day of PTO and spend some quiet time in a dark room after testing Drill Sergeant mode. I found the Soothing Therapist mode more useful for my learning style. Some examples of the feedback I received while riding gentle off-road test route ZLA-094: “I see you used the front brake on that steep, downhill, muddy section. How is that approach working for you?” “I see you locked up the brakes when that ATV came flying over the blind rise at you. Remember, you can’t control the situation but you can control your reaction.” “You chose too high a gear and stalled the bike in the rocky section. How does that make you feel?”

Conditions: Street, mixed weather
Mode: MotoGP Crew Chief

Unfortunately, I must file an incident report. On secret test route ZLA-213, mile marker 37.5, I encountered unexpected mud and gravel washed across the road just beyond the apex of the turn. The front lost traction and I low-sided into the roadside ditch. Zillabot 3000™ recorded a 2.47 G impact when the motorcycle hit the ditch and stopped abruptly. Fortunately, I was not hurt but the company GSX-8R suffered significant damage. As I was kneeling by the ditch, catching my breath, the Zillabot 3000 in MotoGP Crew Chief mode said, “Márquez would have saved it.”
