Highway-jumping rider critically injured in another stunt

Apr 06, 2017

A rider who stirred up an internet debate with his viral video of jumping his Kawasaki KX450 over a California freeway was critically injured in a different stunt this week, according to multiple reports in Southern California media.

Remember Kyle Katsandris? His highway-jumping video, which we reported on a month ago, drew a lot of attention, both pro and con. Katsandris was hospitalized this week, reportedly in critical but stable condition, after he crashed while practicing a jump over railroad tracks in Simi Valley, California. It appears Katsandris was practicing to do the same jump that Colin Morrison pulled off several years ago in this video, leaping over a moving train.

There was no train on the tracks when Katsandris tried the jump. He crashed on the landing.
