Introducing Common Tread on Cycle Gear!
Some of you are probably thinking, "But Common Tread is nothing new." Others are probably asking, "What the heck's a Common Tread? Did you misspell 'thread'?"
The short and accurate answer is that Common Tread is the media arm of Comoto, the parent company of Cycle Gear, along with RevZilla, J&P Cycles, and REVER. Common Tread has been a fixture at RevZilla for more than 11 years now, and for a shorter time at J&P. Now we're bringing all that great motorcycle content right here to Cycle Gear.
To put it in less dry terms, however, we hope you come to think of Common Tread as something like that really knowledgeable riding buddy you always enjoy hanging with. You know, the one who's always up to date on the latest news in the motorcycle world and the one you can count on to give you solid advice.

So what can you expect to see here? Comoto's mission is to serve the rider, fuel the industry, and inspire the community. At Common Tread, we do that by providing a curated look at what's new and interesting in the world of motorcycling. We serve you, the rider, not just by reporting on the new hardware coming out, but also by analyzing and explaining the trends in the industry, from the new features on the motorcycles we ride to the corporate and economic events and trends that affect what you can buy and what it costs. We serve the rider with advice from experts on how to be a better, more skilled, and safer rider. We aim to inspire the community with stories of people doing amazing things in motorcycling. And by keeping that community more informed, we believe we're taking a step toward our goal of fueling the industry, making motorcycling better and the industry stronger.

You won't find copy-and-paste press releases but you will find informed opinion, analysis, and perspective, tips for wrenching and riding, as well as the news that matters. If you want a review of Common Tread history, see my story from last year about the first 10 years of Common Tread. It includes links back to some of our best and most popular content.

Another aspect of Common Tread that we're pretty proud of is that our loyal readership makes this a two-way street. The reader comments on our articles are the best in the motorcycle media, in our humble opinion, and we all benefit from the collective wisdom of our community. So join the conversation, tell us what we did right, what could be better, and what we missed.
Welcome to Common Tread.
