Steve Del Vecchio is a children’s librarian, teacher, poet, riding instructor, MSF RiderCoach, track marshal, track instructor, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and USA Cycling race moto marshal and moto tv/video, and an advocate for intellectual freedom and public libraries. He teaches folks to ride, ride better, and manage risks on the street, road, and track. Steve has been riding since he hopped on a neighbor’s minibike at 10 years old. He has been a kindergarten teacher, mathematics teacher as a Peace Corps volunteer in Fiji, public library manager, school librarian, children’s and teen book reviewer, expert in text complexity, children’s materials consultant, and researcher and adjunct faculty at the University of Washington Information School.
