Spurgeon, who typically goes by Spurg (pronounced like the 90s soft drink Surge, but with a “P”), has had the pleasure of riding motorcycles all over the world. From dirt trails to race tracks, his preferred method of adventure is on two wheels. Originally a history teacher, Spurg has been working for RevZilla for the last decade and along with Lance Oliver is a founding member of the Common Tread team. He loves the stories that lie beneath the surface, waiting to be told. He likes crashing Austrian adventure bikes, pulling Iron Butt rides on his well worn Triumph Bonneville, and arguing against turbo systems on motorcycles. When not riding, Spurgeon can be found chatting with local barkeeps, repairing six-stringed instruments in his basement, and preaching the superiority of record players over iPods (R.I.P.).
