The Ortovox Beast is an aggressive shovel and saw with a hybrid grip and optimal power transmission in a packable size. The pack-friendly blade has high side walls and a robust center ridge, giving the Beast an outstanding rigidity. The cutting edge is sharpened and the upper edge of the blade has non-slip ridges for use with boots. The grip permits a wide range of gripping positions for both right and left-handed users, and has a saw for cutting wood, snow, or for building an igloo or snow profile. The telescopic, rigid, oval-shaped shaft ensures excellent ergonomics. Rubber coating on the lower section maximizes power transmission and the quick-lock eases assembly of shaft and blade.
