Q & A with Ananda

How long have you been riding and what do you currently ride?

Ananda - I’ve been riding for 2 and a half years!

How did you first get interested in riding a motorcycle?

Ananda - When I was 9, my mom and dad gave me a two-stroke scooter, and from that moment on I was forever hooked. I rode it until it became unfixable.

What is your dream bike?

Ananda - My bike is my dream bike. But I’d love to start a chopper project with an older Sportie.

What is the farthest trip you’ve done on your motorcycle?

Ananda - I am mostly an urban rider. I commute. Since I am pretty much a newbie, I haven’t had the time to go long distances, and my bike is not ideal for that purpose. I mostly ride around California. Almost being blown away by the wind on my way to Joshua Tree was my most recent ride :)

Where would you love to visit on a motorcycle?

Ananda - I want to visit all the National Parks in the US!

What is your most memorable experience on a motorcycle to date?

Ananda - Babes Ride Out central coast!

Do you prefer group rides or solo rides?

Ananda - They are equally fun, I believe it really depends on the moment. Sometimes a solo ride is all one needs. Sometimes sharing the road with a rad group of friends makes my heart really full.

What is the toughest thing you learned on a motorcycle to date?

Ananda - Motorcycles are not very forgiving, unfortunately. I never take for granted getting back home the same way I left. When I’m on my bike, life is here and now. The toughest thing, I believe, is coordinating the emotions of feeling the most powerful while being the most vulnerable.

Name an inspirational riding figure you look up to, and why?

Ananda - Gevin Fax (@sapasioux). She is such a fantastic presence that I honestly have a hard time putting her in words. She emanates humility, experience, and love. I feel fortunate to have met her, and got to feel a tad bit of her riding and human wisdom.

What’s your advice to newer riders?

Ananda - Ride your own ride, respect your limits and your bikes. Wear protective gear, and mitigate the chances of getting a bad injury. Practice, practice, and practice! Never stop learning from your mistakes or (better) from other people’s mistakes.
