Not Loud Enough
I bought this speaker set for my second helmet. I have a Sena SMH10R on my main helmet and just wanted something basic to get audio from my smartphone into a helmet that does not see too much use. The build quality seems pretty good. The buttons, wiring, and speakers are pretty solid. I like how the audio connector is short enough to just poke out of the helmet liner by the chin straps. It makes it very easy to remember to unplug it when I undo my helmet straps.

But the volume level is not loud enough for my tastes. I use a Sena SMH10R to commute at highway speeds and I can hear music and podcasts much clearer with that setup. I even have a tall sport touring windscreen on my bike so I am in relatively clean air. I can hear the Uclear speakers around town, but if I get up to highway speeds I cannot hear it.

Cheap good helmet speakers
I brought these to go into my Shoei RF1200 helmet and they fit in the speaker cut outs with the help of the adhesive adapters.

It is a bit fiddly trying to skip songs or adjust the volume on the fly but I have worked out a good volume and it is set and forget

Does what its supposed to.
Plenty loud to hear inside my helmet and over any outside sounds. I have a speed and strength helmet and as far as fitment, I had to carve out some foam to recess the speaker. Not sure about other helmets but something to think about when purchasing.

Huh?! I can't hear you? Just kidding.
Ok so this is a mixed review. Couple questions with answers first.

1) Are they loud? - Yes they are loud. For me. I had them directly over my ear and centered. I could hear my music at 80mph.

2) Are they comfortable? - NO, for me. I wear an Icon Airmada and have to say either the helmets speaker pockets suck or I have ears that suck because every time I'd put my helmet on my ears would fold over. I tried over & under the liner. Of course under the liner made it better but still sucked. Even after I get everything to work together they are still pushing against my ear and heat builds up.

3) Do they sound good? Sound quality? - I think so. It's not like my $150 Gaming headphones but hey I'm on a loud azz bike going 80+ from light to light. I lisiten to rock and the likes only. No country rap r&b pop or any of that.

4) Bass? - Yes and no. A few songs sounded great! But also a few songs didn't. So I guess depending on the song depends on the bass. I don't understand that either.

So my test platform is as follows:

Bike - Harley Sportster 883 w/ LAF Drag pipes
Helmet - Icon Airmada
Phone - IPhone 6+
Music app - Apple Music & Amazon Music
Music Genre - Rock. Punk. Metal. Alternative.

Becareful
The sound performance of these speakers are fine, good bass and sound clarity. But PLEASE TRY IT FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING. I received a defective product, the speaker's sound distort badly even at low sound but I only found that out after I already installed these into my helmet so I could not send them back to revzilla. I contacted directly to Uclear and they were kind enough to send me another one for free.
This speaker is loud enough, I don't have to turn my music to max to hear. This is a speaker, not some type of noise cancelling technology so you hear as much windnoise as you normally do on freeway.
This speaker is a little thick so good luck if you don't have speaker cut out hole in your helmet, even with my RF1200 speaker cut out, my ears still feel hurt because they are pressed against this speaker.
BEWARE! The soft cover of this speaker is flimsy while the velcro is very strong, that cause the cover to rip when you pull these speakers out so be very careful. I already have a small rip.
Positioning is key, good position for both side of the speakers will give you good and balanced sound performance.
I wish they have L and R marked. I could only out these on and hope for the best.

Not bad. Don't expect to have the music bumping. You can kind of hear it on the freeway and it's clear on the streets. Had to get a different male/female extender with remote for the remote to work with my iTouch.

Very finicky.
First, the speakers are quite thick, takes some getting used to. Annoying on hot days when it blocks air, and the material contracts heat. Maybe i got a troublesome set, but it works well 40% of the time. I have an iphone 6s and this headset turns on my itunes with out me touching it, and contacts siri without me touching it. I only got this for directions. Im new to LA, and traffic is terrible so i dont ride with music so i can focus. Its the worst when im riding and i have the volume all the way up to listen to directions while lane splitting, then some random song starts blaring by its self. Could eventually be a real safety hazard.

Okay while they lasted
Ordered these the 19th of June. Today is the 20th of July, and the day they died, which I would consider a short life span, even though I never abused them by any means. I installed them without any spacers, installation was kind of a pain. They have to be centered right over your ear, and 1/16 inch makes all the difference but once you get them positioned audio quality was good enough. Loud enough to hear clearly with all the vents open.

My problems with them:

They shifted every time I put my helmet on and would require fine tuning before every ride.

They should last longer than one months worth of non-abusive use- the solder on the left speaker let go and now only has audio in one speaker. I unplugged them every time I took my helmet off, and I ran the wire behind my head concealed by my helmet pads.

They rubbed both of my ears raw in the same place.

Don't just Don't
Just put these in and right out of the box these are terrible. With both my Galaxy S7 and my FiiO X1 they are not loud or even moderately loud.... Going back to my SHURE SE215 earbuds..... Installed in Bell Vortex.

Just ordered this. It seems to be a simple option which doesn't involve costly electronics and offers pretty much the same features sans the intercom feature. Gonna try this out and then arrive at the pro's and cons.

Is this loud enough?
Mark N on Jun 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It certainly is for me. I used it to upgrade the speakers on my Sena S20. It is loud enough that I can't stand it at it's loudest. It is louder and clearer that the Sena speakers. That being said, if the bike and/or the wind is loud enough, I can't stand the noise.
