Been waiting on these
Been waiting for these boots for a long time. (since they were announced) Ordered when the site had them for around $220. Just got them today - 12/19/16. Only had a chance to walk around a bit, and sit on the bike, but my first impressions are very positive. And they look awesome.

First off, they're slightly darker than the picture on the website. But not dark brown like you see on European reviews. They're a dark cherry color. Also, you'll notice how thick and rich the leather is. They appear to be very durable compared to most other motorcycle boots I've tried that are more cruiser/cafe racer looking.

Secondly, They need breaking in for sure. The sole is stiff. I'd say more on the scale of a 7/10. Almost as stiff as the icon elsinores. But, the shifter pad has a lot more give to it. I think this will allow you to feel the shifter a bit more. I'll try to remember to come back and update this after I've broken them in.

There isn't much in the way of an insole. But there is plenty of room to put one in if you feel like you'd want one.

One thing I'd like to mention that might help some of you decide on these boots. Most boots I've worn, do not have a replaceable sole, or by replacing the sole, the boot itself would be compromised (or at least any waterproofing). These boots have a rubber sole glued onto the leather insole. Meaning a cobbler can replace the tread when you wear these out. So these should last a VERY long time. Maybe even the rest of your life if taken care of.

Did I mention they look good?! I've gotten 3 compliments from my ladies at work. They are all shoe snobs and said they loved the way they looked. Even the guys said they look good. My only complain would be the white threading they use to sew the bottom of the shoe. I'd have liked them to use black. I know those will look nasty after a few dirty rides. Oh well, one more thing to patina!

Everything else about these is as expected. No surprises or comments on anything else. Are they worth it? If you need a brown boot that you can wear to the office, on a date, etc. without looking like Mad Max, or a Motocross guy. These are the boots for you!

Wanted to like them
I did not buy these from Revzilla - sorry Revzilla, I just found fast shipping and a slightly lower price on Amazon. That being said, I know a lot of people shop here like myself and value the reviews...

I bought these boots really wanting to like them. I usually take the BIFL (buy it for life) mindset when buying things like boots. I my not have them for "life" but I want quality. I've owned a few pairs of good-year welt boots and alternative welts. This boot option looked good in the pictures, had at least a replaceable sole, and appeared to have some decent protection.

Here are my thoughts:

Out of the box I thought the leather looked cheap and plastic-like. I'm sure with a little age they would've looked a lot better but that just struck me wrong. When investigating the build, I did not like how thin the leather was. For what's supposed to be a sturdy boot it felt like awfully thin leather and in some areas the thin leather appears to actually be two, even thinner, layers. The armor seemed almost non existent. I could invert the malleolus protectors easily ( they felt like a thin piece of foam between the two layers) and the toe felt pretty spongy for having toe reinforcements. As far as the fit... I normally wear a 9-9.5 tennis shoe and a size 9 in most boots. The size 9 (43) in this boots was fairly large. I had quite a bit of room at the toe and the width was slightly too wide. Albeit, they seemed like they'd be comfortable if my heel wasn't slipping (not because they're a new boot but because they were simply too big).

In the end, I returned them less than 12 hours after purchase and I am now trying a pair of Rokker boots - like I said, buy it for life.

Great Protection and Style, but Fits Slightly Large
I really love this boot. The style is great and I feel the protection is more than adequate. I haven't "tested" the water resistance properties, yet, so I can;t speak to that. Airflow isn't great, but that's not really what you want in a water resistant motorcycle boot.

The fit is large. In all other footwear, I fit nicely into a 44. These a re just a bit large for me. I wear a thicker wicking wool sock to compensate. I'm pretty sure the size down would be too small for me, but I haven't tried it.

All-in-all a great boot.

Extremely narrow boot
TCX is known for their wider boots. This boot is Italian size narrow about a B or D. This is not a an E or EE which is about standard for TCX
