Reviews & Questions
That said, I was looking for something to use ''occasionally" on the Bonnie to give me quick access to some bills for tolls and some place to put a few small items and this size and style point was spot on.
Well it's a mixed bag as I love the new Legend styling cues and I have other SW bags which are second to none in quality and durability but they keep bugging me with detail issues.
So , going forward if you want a small tank bag that has strong magnets and will stay on your tank look elsewhere. The magnets on the small very small tank bag would not hold a zero to the dollar and back test. That said they are aware of this as they include not one but four VERY trick straps with loops for frame mounting and really cool aluminum hooks which slide right into the many mounting strips sewn into the bag. This I suppose is to give credence to the "old school " sort of concept though I don't recall hooks of this caliber in any old school I was in and at 72 I'm pretty sure I qualify as "old" . LOL
OK I'm keeping it . Threw a magnet from a First
Gear tank bag I trashed in a get off a while back into the bottom and just one of them with the existing baby mags installed under the skin of the bottom hold it much better , but I DID use two of the four straps to secure the front of the bag in case of yet another low side.
"I"m so happy" as all the Italian MotoGP riders said last week after Quatar's last FP3 session and I am happy because this little tiny bag is just the piece de resistance I needed to make my Bonnie complete after adding a small GIVI top case and the new Blaze side bags . I only wish that SW had supplied in this bag with better magnets and the same textile color way as the blaze saddle bags. Hey it is NOT a perfect world land the bonnie looks pretty rad with the combo and now I can do an extended weekend on the Bonneville when I'm just not in the mood to wrestle the top heavy TEX which I have a love hate relationship with.
OK guys , start buying up the legend stuff before they take the bugs out of it because if I had a murdered out Bonnie or the new Street Twin you can trick the heck out of them with this new gear and look so cool in next years "Distinguished Gentleman's ride and have all the newbies asking you new questions that are much easier to answer. LOL
It attaches perfectly onto my Ducati Scrambler without obscuring the gas cap, and contrary to the previous comment, I found that this bag's four small groups of magnets holds Perfectly well, and well beyond any speed limit I could find. The Legend made its first outing on a recent 1300 mile trip, and by the end I realized I was no longer nervously looking down to make sure this guy was still there and holding. And because the magnets are sewn right into the base instead of some weird flappy things like other bags, placing and removing this bag is instantaneous--no fiddling at all.
It's a much smaller bag than my last, but it's still able to comfortably able to hold my Kindle, my Olympus OM-D and two lenses, some visor cleaner, and a few other assorted things. Combined with the Legend smartphone wallet, it's really the best tank bag I can imagine. Totally worth it.
As an aside, I also want to call out my Revzilla experience when grabbing this bag. When I purchased, I forgot to grab that smartphone bag. I called up Revzilla and was immediately connected to an impressively kind and helpful young woman who was able to finagle the 2nd bag into the order right in time, and naturally, because Revzilla is amazing, I received the entire shipment the next afternoon. Hands down the best service you'll ever find.

To preclude a similar incident, I attached one of the four straps that comes with the bag to the front handle of the bag and to the center of the handlebar. Now when I stop to refuel, I simply lift the bag off the top of the tank and move it to the side of the metal tank. When finished, insert and lock the fuel cap and rotate the bag onto the top of the bag. The magnet is strong and the bag doesn't over around or float at highway speeds. I like that it is expandable and can carry a mix of small items. For bikes without a metal tank, suggest using the four straps that come with the bag to secure it. Rather than installing the plastic film tank protector, I simply waxed the top of the tank.
