Style and safety, what more do you need?
The Pros: The Street Bandit is a solid buy. Both DOT and SNELL 2015 rated, makes it safe without sacrificing style, and it has plenty of style to spare. It's almost impossible to wear a Simpson helmet and not look like a bad@$$. It's really lightweight, much more so than some other helmets of similar price due to the fiberglass shell. It feels solid, and although i hope to never need it in a crash, I'm sure it'd do the job. The shield has 4 different stops so you can crack it in the city or run wide open without much fuss. The locking mechanism is simple if not a little clunky. The liner is soft and comfortable, and the extra set of thinner cheek pads is a nice touch for customizing the fit. As for noise, it's a fairly quiet helmet as well.

The Cons: For $300 it's a little short on features. I know that until this year SImpson has had a minimalist approach to their helmets, but with no drop down sun-shield an extra black lens would have been nice. Especially with extra shields priced at the $60 mark for the nicer finishes. Ventilation is present, but a little scarce and the forehead vent closures are a bit flimsy.

All in all it's a solid back to basics, cobra commander, helmet. Definitely worth it if you don't mind giving up a few bells and whistles. After a couple rides, I didn't even miss them.

Don't read this
As far as aesthetics go, when wearing this thing it makes you feel like doing a stand up wheelie at 80mph down I-20 while flipping the bird to the following GSP. (Highly Un-recommended) I picked up the Mirrored smoke visor... 75 F$@#ING dollars BTW and it scratches sooooo easy. Worth it though. If your looking for a lid that spews an ominous tone, here you go. The second day I had it I put the fear of the devil into a four year old girl in the parking lot of my local Wendy's. Unintentional, yet unavoidable. I have an oval shaped head and this thing fits round, I stripped the liner and used my knuckle to press the styrofoam and give my forehead a little room. Took me about ten minutes to press out a spot the size of a can of dip. Once I did that it fit like a ten year old pair of Wranglers. The right side vent doesn't stay closed and it flaps in the wind. The stupid little rubber band that holds the extra bit of strap broke after about 3-4 days. The matte finish attracts greasy paw prints pretty bad and just smears when you try and wipe it off with your T-shirt. Once you hit 120mph if you didn't have the strap it would fly off your head like a baseball cap. Pull the nose down & tip your head forward and it eliminates that for the most part. The cheek pads ride much further back on the jaw than I'm used to. Snell or not... it is not a track helmet. For your sporty guys, stick with a Shoei. Perfect match for Dyna & Bobbed sportsters.

Great Helmet
This helmet is great. It looks amazing and has a big visor for a big window of clearance. I absolutely recommend this helmet for any type of ride.

Great Fit, Protection and Style
Aside from the obvious unique style of the Simpson Bandit, it offers a lightweight, simple but very effective option for riding protection. Upon opening the box and handling the helmet, I was immediately impressed with how lightweight it actually was. It sits low on your head, offering a very good looking stance on either a street bike or a cruiser. The field of view is phenomenal. The visor itself is a little bit tricky to open initially, but after using it a few times, it's not a problem in the least bit. Sound reduction is substantial, but you won't be oblivious to your surroundings by any means. It'll lessen the roar from your Harley, but you'll still hear sirens, horns, and surrounding vehicles. Note the size chart and use it accordingly. The fit is true. Overall 5/5 product. I've owned a few full face helmets in the past that ran on the cheaper end...with Simpson, you're definitely getting what you're paying for. Comfort, quality, reliability and functionality. I would highly recommend this product.

Bright style with unrivaled quality!
Black?.. or White? Never mind! This helmet is made perfectly. All the details carefully adjusted. The visor has a wide overview. It is very light. At high speed proved to be quiet. I recommend this helmet!

Stylish helmet with a few quarks
Long story short, this is a quality helmet that was not for me. It looks great! I found it to be a slightly bulky shell size though. The vents seem a little cheap for the price of the helmet. My biggest gripe is that the first detent in the visor is in the middle of your field of vision. In Los Angeles traffic, it is nice to crack the visor and still be able to see. I like that it came with a larger set of cheek pads, they were definitely necessary.

Rad helmet
This helmet is awesome. Fits my head perfectly and looks awesome. Love the feel. Good simple helmet. Interior can be pulled out and washed easily and visor is very clear. Eye port is plenty big and the helmet doesn't catch wind when looking around while at speed. Not the most vents but it's not the hottest helmet either. Just right for summer. Great helmet overall and looks awesome.

Fantastic looking vintage style helmet without looking like a hipster!
First off kudos to Revzilla! This was my first purchase for my first bike, and it came the next day for free!

This helmet is awesome. The fit and finish is perfect, and I cant wait for the M2015 visors to come out for it to change up the look. The shield is super easy to unlock and flip up when sitting at a light, and the vents work great while the bike is in motion. My only gripe is that the top vents could be a b it more sturdy, but over all they work great so far. The look of the helmet is great! It's got a nice retroish hot rod feel that stands out from the mass of biltwell gringos out there. It's a nice in between from vintage to sport which fits my cafe style bike super well.

This is a simple, lightweight, and high quality helmet. It looks great, fits on the mark, and is not too noisy. It has a good field of view. The venting could be better, but overall it isn't too hot in 100* heat.

Steve E on Mar 9, 2016
I chose this helmet because it looks great and will work best for the custom paint i'll be getting put on it. My buddy has 2 of them, and I've always been a fan of the mean look they have. Simpson also has a great reputation with quality. I ride a V-Max, and this style of helmet suit the muscle bike look perfectly.

Does the jutting chin cause a lot of drag, especially when the rider turns around?
A S on Nov 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Best I can explain it: yes, there is marginally more drag vs. other styles, but it's never really presented an annoyance to me. To the extent that I couldn't even answer your question immediately because I had to give it some thought.

I use this helmet and Biltwell Gringo, I find this helmet to have less chin lift/undercurrent than my Gringo.
How is this helmet in cold weather with the open vents in front?
A shopper on Apr 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's not too bad. I have a tendency to get extremely cold quickly even at 60 degrees or so. Only issue I have is it feels like the face shield doesn't close all the way and let's wind in more than the front vents do. Also with mine the top vents don't close. They flap open and closed like crazy when riding. Seeing as I get cold no matter the temperature, if it bothers me I'll just glue them shut.
Benefits of weight, fit, and style out weigh the cons in my opinion.
I really like simpson helmets, but witch helmet made by simpson is best fit for glasses?
Roy A on Mar 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Rob, I recently purchased the Streetbandit and it gives me plenty of room for my glasses and bluetooth headphones. The only trick is putting the glasses on after the helment and remebering to take them off before you remove the helment, I normally wear a pair of large Aviator Sunglasses aswell and they fit just fine. Just another heads up I purchased the matte black helment and the paint has been chiped away by road debris , i can cover it up with a black sharpie but I wonder if the same would happen with a different finish. Hope this helps, enjoy the ride.
Can you use Bluetooth communication devices with this?
Tobin V on Apr 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can. Bluetooth devices are universal. You'll just want to avoid units with really thick speakers.
Summer is here and I want to know how good it vents and does it run true to size? I wear a Biltwell Gringo XL that fits very loose on me. Should I go with the medium or large?
Alex F on Jun 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The venting on the helmet is really great. I live in Los Angeles and we've been in the high 90s for a week now and I've had no issues. As far as the sizing goes I have a huge head and went from a XXL bell rs1 to the simpson in large. I did have to change out the cheek pads for the smaller ones that came with it since I have a fat face. Hope this helped.
I really like the helmets from simpson. But I wear glasses, do glasses fit comfortably inside a simpson helmet?
Thanks in advance.
A shopper on Mar 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They fit great. I have the street bandit and wear glasses that have a large plastic frame every day. The helmet is snug and fits great, but doesn't feel like it will bend your glasses up at all.
Does this helmet run true to the size chart? I wear a 7-1/8 hat size which equates to a MD in the size chart for this helmet.
A shopper on May 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I usually wear larger sizes in helmets/hats too and I was a little unsure of the Simpson sizes, but I got mine based on the measurements of my head and the Simpson table and i have to say it fits perfectly.
Does the helmet come with a visor?
A C on Apr 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, clear. I would recommend buying a tint visor. For looks and the ease of swapping them out. However it's not bad either while wearing sunglasses. I wear a pair of ray bans and there isn't an annoying pressure on the sides of any kind.
If you wanted to, could you leave off the visor and just wear biker shades?
A shopper on Nov 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes
Is it Snell SA2010 or SA2015 certified?, for karting
A shopper on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This is a motorcycle helmet, not an automotive helmet, so it is not SA Snell certified
