SCORPION EXO GT3000!
I love this helmet. Especially with the optional mirrored face shield. Fit perfect from the word go. I didn't have to walk around the house for hours wearing the helmet to figure out if it would fit or not. Very good field of view. I have always had half and 3/4 helmets, so this helmet is very quiet to me. I have a tall windshield on a 2002 Low Rider, so if I need some air I just lift my head above the windshield a little and get plenty of air. If the wind is strong coming in on the right side of the chin, the wind does come in, but for West Texas Winds, the wind would probably get into any helmet. I do wish the air flow on the chin had a different way to close, a thumb notch or something. When I try to close the vent, instinct will have a person put their thumb on the bottom of the helmet where the face shield button is and you will open it by mistake, but no big deal, just a nuisance really. I don't see any point to the air pump, but people with small jaws may get something out of it. Same old D-Ring. I've never had a ratchet system on a helmet, but I would have liked to see it on this helmet to try it out, but oh well. Not real dark with mirrored face shield and inner shield down, you can see in all kinds of cloudiness and still dark enough to protect you from the sun. I haven't got caught in any rain yet so I don't know about the sealing of moisture. This is the first full face helmet I have had. I don't think I would like a full faced helmet that wasn't modular. I guess the weight is pretty light, I compared the weight to other modular helmets, and for the price this one is the lightest that I have found. I'm not going to spend about a G on a helmet, I just have to get used to the added weight, I have always had very light and basic half helmets mostly. Well, that's my take on this helmet. I will say that I first ordered this SCORPION,I got a Large, it fit fine, but I was afraid that when I broke it in it would be too big. I sent it back to REVZILLA and they took great care of me. Got my refund and my Medium helmet FAST!

Broken Chin bar
I've had 2 EXO-GT3000 helmets in the past 33 years and both have resulted in a broken chin bar that will no longer stay in the up position. After a careful examination it appears that the little plastic tab on the base plate breaks over time and no longer holds the chin bar in place when open. Over all, i like the helmet above all my other modulars. It just sucks about the defective chin bar mechanism.

A Little Dissappointed
The Scorpion GT3000 is a pretty nice helmet with great features. Fit is good, decent airflow, reasonably quiet (with earplugs), comfortable and looks good.

My complaint is with the retractable sun shield. Worked fine the first few rides but now does not move so I removed the shield completely because it was stuck in the middle. The retractable sun shield was one of my deciding factors in choosing the helmet. I can see a kink in the cable that controls the shield. If the helmet was a couple of years old and the shield was lowered and raised hundreds of times I would not complain, but for a helmet that has been used a handful of times this is not good. The helmet is my fourth or fifth Scorpion helmet and I was hopeful it was going to be the best.

Since I was happy with the fit, I threw away the box after the first couple of times it was worn so trying to return it would probably be more trouble than its worth. I never dreamed it would break so soon. The helmet is still useable just without what could have been a nice feature for commuting.

Even with the failure of the sunshield I would still recommend this helmet. Over the years I have ridden in Arai and Shoei helmets and Scorpion is 90% of the helmet at a much lower price.

Scorpio Gt3000 a noisy helmet
It is a very nice helmet, looks good, fits good, comfortable and great view. The sunvisor is annoying, to close to the nose, but keeping it higher does the job partly. The bad side and this is really bad is the noise, it is very loud. I have been riding for over 40 years, many long distances, its is the nosiest helmet I have ever used. I do not recommend it at all. Even using earplugs did not help enough. I will finish this season and buy a different brand for spring.

Chin bar pull down release always fail
Chin bar pull down release is a red plastic detail, that becomes very weak part of the helmet. some day it can be broken, and scorpion support will not give you support and warranty. the don't just give a damn about customers.
Don't buy.

Glad I bought
The first thing I noticed was the light weight of this helmet. It seem half the weight of my Scorpion EXO 900. While riding I opened the vents and immediately noticed the air flowing into the helmet, but it soon became un-noticeable in the Florida heat. Overall, I am very happy with this helmet.

Good, non-bulky modular helmet
I've had this helmet a year, and I'm pretty happy with it. I've always worn helmets, but this is my first full face. I wanted a modular helmet because I wasn't sure I could get used to it. After wearing one for a year, I would feel naked without face protection. I first ordered the Bell Revolver. The one I got was damaged. It looked like it had been dropped. It also hurt my forehead. I talked to the helpful Revzilla reps and decided to try this Scorpion instead. I got it before sending the Bell back, and the Scorpion looked way better. Much more streamlined. The Bell looked huge next to it. The pearl white paint looks great.

The chin bar, face shields, and vents are all very easy to use with one hand. I really like the slide-down shades. The helmet is pretty comfortable and doesn't move around. It is a little tight where my jaws meet. They get a little sore on long rides, but the next size up would be too big.

I don't find the helmet to be noisy in terms of adding noise (e.g., whistling), but it doesn't block out as much road and wind noise as I would like. On long rides, I wear earplugs.

Great helmet overall for the price. And Revzilla makes it easy to exchange if it doesn't work out.

Seeking the impossible
Really liking my new helmet, the Scorpion EXO-GT3000. Still working out a couple minor "hot spots" across the forehead, but like the way the helmet feels like a part of my head.

I would like another detente between the first and second. The first they call a "city" detente, but the second opens almost to my eye level. Should really be something in between, that does not interfere with my vision.

Speaking of vision, when the sun visor is down there is a distinct distortion when your head is down and you look up. Across the top of the visor, it does not seem to be constructed the same as the rest. A rather odd effect, but does not affect vision while riding.

No pinlock on this helmet, but there s a fog free coating that is working great. Have had this helmet out in really humid, chilly weather, completely closed, and no fog at all. Waiting to get caught in the rain, and cooler temps, to see how it performs then.

Occasionally have to close it twice, as the first attempt may not seat completely. However, when opening, I get a very positive reinforcement that it opens. There is a distinctive "click" when it happens.

Not sure I'm going to be able to use my HD comm system in this helmet. My ears press against the side of the helmet, where the ear pockets are, but so far it is not irritating. I'll try to get the speakers mounted, and see if it further increases the rubbing against my ears. Hopefully not, as I'd like to listen to the radio again.

It is quite a bit noiser than the Shoei Neotec I have, and I would like a little more air flow coming in from the top, but overall very satisfied with it. This is the 2nd one that I ordered from Revzilla. The first was the wrong size, and they exchanged it without an issue.

I have owned for 10 months. helmet is comfortable, flip up face and visor work well. needs better ventilation, needs pin lock visor option for fogging(at cold temps), when riding at highway speeds my sena is almost all the way up to hear my music.

Seemed to have great reviews at a great price point. I had an open face from Scorpion about 7 years ago for Autocross and loved it, so it was pretty easy to see how far they've come. Finish on this should look perfect with my Slingshot.

I like the fact that this helmet was designed to be light and used for upright riding. Like the laminated shell for strength and what really sold me personally is the Air-fit System. I'm hoping for a quiet modular as well, included chin curtain should help. I'll probably use the included helmet bag for a pannier liner! Can I have an extra bag for the other side!?

Does it come with a breath guard, and how difficult is it to connect a HD comm unit?
A shopper on Feb 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: yes it has a breath guard. I installed my autocom harness without a hitch. Depends on the system you are going to use, there are cutouts on both sides in the rear area to allow to store comms related parts such as cabling or battery.
Does it come with a chin curtain?
JeanPablo R on Feb 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: yes
Does this come with a breath guard and how difficult is it to install a HD comm unit?
Michael S on Feb 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It does not have a breath guard. Come unit is very easy to install. I have a Sena on mine.
Does the drop-down visor controls on the side of the helmet interfere with a clamp-on Bluetooth device like a Sena SMH10 ?
Robert H on Feb 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: He does mention that, but he is also pointing to the right side of the helmet. My SMH10 mounts on the left side. And it looks like the visor slider mechanism on the left side would interfere with the SMH10, at least it would mine. Looks like a deal killer to me. Why do these helmet manufacturers keep putting the visor control right where your communicator goes?
Would LOVE to know if this comes with a chin curtain?
Brandon B on Mar 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does. Got mine last week. Quality helmet!
I have an Arai Signet shaped head and have found it hard to locate a modular helmet that fits me. Of all the modular helmets I have tried, the prior Scorpion model EXO-900 fit comfortably albeit a bit on the heavy side. I recently tried the EXO-900X, but found it to be a little too snug from front to back and had to send it back. Can you tell me how the GT3000's shape might match up to the original EXO-900? Based on your video, it sounds like it might be too round for me.
Deric S on Apr 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I just got the GT-3000 and have worn it several times already. I also have the original EXO-900, which is now my spare.

The fit on the GT-3000 is very close to the EXO-900...I can't really tell a difference. I love my GT-3000. It is much lighter than the EXO-900 and the ventilation is amazing. The air circulating in this helmet far surpasses my 900, which really wasn't too bad on it's own. The fact that I can now adjust where I want the sunscreen visor to be is a bonus.

If you love your EXO-900, you will not be disappointed by the fit, feel and performance of the GT-300. I hope this helps.
Why some people say its very loud and some that is normal or quiet?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Remember, helmet noise is relative. If you're coming from a very noisy helmet, and that's all you know, then this helmet will be relatively more quiet. I've been riding for a long time and have owned many helmets. This is NOT a quiet helmet, especially compared to a quality full face. And it does whistle. It's more pronounced when you turn your head slightly to the left, and I believe it's due to the central air intake. I ride bikes without fairings, so my assessment is purely from how this helmet handles unbridled wind. If you want a quiet helmet, then you're going to have to step up to a Shoei or equivalent. Also, remember, modulars are going to be louder than full face, just due to the construction. This feature-rich helmet is about 60% of the cost of a Shoei, but you are getting 60% of the quality. Bottom Line: I would not buy this helmet again.
Is the drop down sun shield adjustable or is it just down or up? My HJC shield hits my nose when all the way down but I can adjust it.

BEST ANSWER: The shield has a smooth sliding mechanism, but with a fair amount of friction so you can lower it to pretty much any position. I normally keep it all the way down so I couldn't tell you if it will move with vibrations. It doesn't have locking positions but I find it provides better coverage than the shield in my HJC IS-Max II.
I am just getting back into riding after about 20 years and have my riding course this upcoming weekend to get my license. I know it's personal preference but I am torn between a modular helmet and a 3/4. The store I was at was sold out of the Scorpion modular so I was unable to try. The Scorpion EXO CT 220 was pretty comfortable. Knowing that my riding will be mostly on weekends around town and the occasional 1-2 hour ride I'm curious what people think?

BEST ANSWER: Whether to use a modular full face helmet or a 3/4 helmet is a matter of personal choice involving assessment of risk/benefit. For me this assessment resulted in my selecting to use a modular full face helmet. I based this decision in part that I tend to be risk adverse and statistic presented at Motorcycle Safety Course reflected that in accidents involving head/face, over 18% of the time area impacted was head/face that was not protected by a 3/4 helmet. If you are unsure, postpone decision until completion of the safety class and for purposes of the class use a helmet that they provide. Ultimately, there is no right/wrong decision; it is a matter of personal preference, but is a decision that should be made with full understanding of risk/benefits associated with decision.

BEST ANSWER: Anthony said the helmet is designed for an upright or 3/4 position (due to the vent locations), not a tuck. With a Ninja, I believe you'll ride in 3/4 or a tuck. Enjoy your Ninja!
