Scorpion Covert Pro Jeans: Excellent Protection on a Budget
An excellent purchase, and one of my first purchases of motorcycle jeans, these Scorpion Covert Pros have me hooked. They are an excellent blend of comfort, protection, and style.

I am 5'09, 185lbs. I ordered a size 36. Be forewarned that these are all cut to the same inseam length. I usually wear a size 35x30 for regular jeans/pants.

At 5'09, the inseam was a little long for me. Wearing anything other than 8" boots made them drag.

The fit is a little strange as well, the waist is fairly roomy, giving plenty of space in the groin and hip area, however, the thigh area of the legs seems to be tight, with a slight taper until you get to the knee area, where things tend to straighten out. Maybe I just have fat thighs, I'm not sure.

The jeans feature no separate stitching for the Kevlar they have, making a clean look on the exterior of the pant legs.

I ordered the dark blue version, which has golden stitching, and it looks very tasteful in my opinion.

The seat of the pants, inside of the upper thighs (where the front pockets are), and knees are Kevlar-lined. Additionally, the hips and knees have velcro mesh pockets for adding SAS-TEC hip and knee armor (sold separately). I personally found the armor pockets to not hold the armor in the correct spots for me, even though the knees have several velcro points that you can open and close to adjust where the armor sits.

I have been down in these jeans. I went down at about 30 MPH on a corner after hitting some sand. The jeans were slightly damaged, tearing the rear right pocket (where my wallet was), as well as tearing out some of the stitching on the pocket. There were no tears through the seat though. I had zero road rash but a slight bruise from the impact. Keep in mind that while the jeans offer good abrasion resistance, they will not protect you from impact.

Below the knees there is a mesh lining inside the pant legs to assist with airflow. Additionally, the last several inches of the mesh (from the bottom of the pant leg) has a reflective silver stripe sewn in. The stripe measures about an inch wide.

The pants are constructed of cordura, which I think is more comfortable than actual denim. The Cordura runs a little warm, but it's not terrible. The jeans are definitely comfortable enough to wear off the bike, casually. The internal features of the pant legs don't cause very much irritation to your legs.

Overall, I would recommend these as a good starter jean if you're not looking to spend high dollar for the best.

Durable, affordable riding jean, but fits like a tent
I also own a pair of the regular Scorpion covert jeans, which I like a lot. I bought the pro version expecting a similar cut. Not so! I have a 36" waist (as measured at my belly button) and the 36" covert jeans fit me perfectly. The 36" covert pros are at least 1" too wide. Equally bad, from my point of view is that they are cut wide all the way down to the cuff. Stay away from these jeans unless you have big legs or like the baggy look.

Othewise, the kevlar+cordura fabric of these jeans is supposed to be better in the slide than the kevlar+denim on the regular Covert jeans. However, cordura is a little slick and crinkly. This makes the Covert Pros feel halfway between denim and soft luggage! Hopefully, they'll soften with age.

Scorpion Covert Pros share many characteristics with the regular Scorpion Covert jeans:

Pros:
* Well constructed. These are high quality garments with strong, tight stitching.
* Durable. I feel a LOT safer in these babies than riding in my dockers.
* Warm in cool weather. The heavy fabric + full liner makes for a cozy ride. I've worn my over pants a lot less since I got these jeans.
* All-day comfort and style. They are very comfortable (with the armor inserts removed) and nobody will look at you funny if you walk around in them at work.
* No transverse seams to spoil the look. This is practically an unheard-of feature in armored riding jeans.
* The price is right.

Cons:
* Too warm in hot weather. I wear them anyway, but it's a problem.
* Approved Sass-tec armor (not included) is NOT covert. Rather, it's bulky and uncomfortable once you're off the bike. I have yet to find a lower-profile replacement that fits the pockets.
* Wrinkles after washing. The full-length liner shrinks more in the wash than the outer shell: Consequently, these babies wrinkle like an S.O.B, especially just above the cuff. The best I can do is to hang them and pull on the legs while they're wet to stretch them out.

Bottom line: Recommended, with qualifications. Best for guys who a) like the baggy look and/or b) have big legs.

Sadly Disappointed
I really liked the review Anthony gave these jeans and the look of the jeans in the review. On top Anthony said the knee armor came stock. Well they showed up to my door:

1. Didn't look anything like the video review. Bright blue Walmart Dadpants. Barely any stonewash to them.
2. No knee armor included
3. The crotch to top fitment scrunched my crotch parts.
4. If I were to put knee armor in the slots they would have been too low.

I really wanted to like these jeans. Cordura, knee armor capable, kevlar, looked stylish, but they fell short. Revzilla said the company stopped including knee armor between the covert and covert pro and they weren't aware of the switch until late. I've purchased about 3K in gear in the last year from Revzilla. Top Notch place. However sometimes things don't work out.

Knee guard pockets are useless.
The knee guard pockets are so low they are pointless. Revzilla should re-consider their return shipping policies for such product quality issues.

Solid pair of jeans for street riding
At the price, these jeans are fantastic. It is a great alternative to leather pants for those who want don't like wearing leather for street riding. They look like any ordinary jeans; can't even tell that they are riding jeans. Pant legs are long but can be folded up to expose the reflective panel, which is great for night riding. I would say the fit is regular straight. It's not too baggy and not too skinny. These are very comfortable; it's just like wearing any regular jeans with the exception of the knees. The Velcro tabs can irritate the skin but I got used to it after awhile and don't feel it anymore.

Protection is great for the price! It has both cordura and dupont kevlar. It has optional knee and hip pockets for armor; however, I personally don't use them. I wear external knee armor instead. I feel very safe wearing these out on the streets.

Look like jeans, protect like armored riding pants (because they are).
I work in a business casual office, and like to ride the 35 miles to work. I don't like having to put on or take off a lot of gear to make that happen, because I don't have a lot of privacy here, but I subscribe to All The Gear, All The Time. What's a guy to do?

Enter these pants. With some good boots that I can still comfortably walk in, my leather jacket, gloves and favorite helmet, my commuting / riding to a social event conundrums are solved, and I don't have to find a place to strip out of all the gear once I get there.

It took a little bit to get the knee armor to line up right, but that's because I have a 35" inseam, and most of that is femur. I had some SAS-TEC armor from a previous purchase that dropped right in and fit perfectly.

These pants do not breathe well, however. Sitting at a stop light in 90° weather, feeling the hot air come off the engine between your calves, you will be reminded of that. But they work so well in every situation thus far, I'll forgive them.

I haven't had to crash test them, and I hope I don't, but the materials are strong, the armor is in the right spots, and the style is right. I would (and do) recommend these anytime someone questions the reality of ATGATT riding.

Scratchy velcro & no armor = returned
COMFORT: The jean fabric is great - very soft and comfortable - no complaints there whatsoever. When I wore these pants, they felt like regular jeans. Yes they were a little warm during afternoon rides (great on the morning rides) but no more so than my leather jacket.

FIT: The pant legs are wide, probably need to be they're supposed to fit armor (more on this later). Other than that, they look like a regular pair of jeans.

PROTECTION: The kevlar protection seems good; full coverage down the thigh to the knee and in the seat area. Would prefer it to go lower so at least part of the shins are covered but most jeans I've seen only cover the "critical" areas so Scorpions go farther than many of their competitors.

Comfort/Fit/Protection-wise, these seem like decent jeans. If it weren't for 2 big drawbacks, I'd be keeping these pants.

1. Why do I have to order armor separately? To me, it's like selling a car without tires. And it's not like any armor will fit. Is Scorpion trying to meet a specific price point? I can see how they might try to appeal to people who don't want the armor but for those of us that do, it's a pain. To make matters worse, there are two different Scorpion Sas-tec knee pads.
2. After wearing the Coverts for a bit then changing into regular jeans, I noticed that my knees felt irritated, like I had micro-abrasions. I tried to make sure that the velcro at the knees was not sticking out but I still got little scratches after wearing them in the seated position. I'm not going to add padding to poorly designed jeans.

Well worth the money
These are my first pair of riding jeans, and after watching the 2015 gear videos these looked like a good value. I received them last week and wore them around the house for a couple of days. So far I really like them. I am 6'4", 205 lbs., and normally wear a 36" waist. I ordered the 36" and the fit is perfect. I wish the jeans were a bit longer, but they don't look too high when on the bike. They are definitely thicker and warmer than regular jeans so they may be a little warm when riding around in the summer here in GA, but I think the trade-off for added protection is worth it. I haven't had a chance to go on a ride with them, but so far I'm very happy. The jeans are very well made and have a very understated look that I like.

I also purchased the SAS-Tec hip and knee armor. It would be nice if the armor came with the jeans, but at this price point that doesn't happen. The hip armor fits great, and I can hardly tell the pads are there. The waist did not feel any smaller with them, so the jeans still fit great. The knee armor was easy to add, and after playing around a bit got them to cover my knee when sitting on the bike. They feel like they sit a bit on the inside of my knee when sitting on the bike, but since I haven't ridden with them yet I'm not sure how they will feel at speed.

Overall I think both the jeans and armor are a great purchase and very well made. They feel MUCH safer than riding in a pair of regular jeans, and if the only downside is some extra leg heat at red lights I'm good with that. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but I am very happy with these jeans and hope I will never have to test their durability in a crash. Stay safe out there!

Excellent quality
I am so happy with these jeans. The blue denim is high quality and very stylish. YKK zipper. Big pockets. They are very comfortable, and no one would ever know your wearing motorcycle pants. I am 5'11" and 145 lbs, wear a 30x30 in Levis and the smallest size they offer (size 30x32) fits a little loose in the waist and obviously I need to hem the bottom but I can do that myself easily. They seem to be cut very similar to Levis, which I like. You can roll up the pant legs to reveal 3M brand reflective material. They are slightly hotter than normal jeans but I don't mind it considering the protection they offer.

These pants feel great!
I have short legs. I usually wear 32-30 but I had to buy 32-32 in these pants and the extra length in these pants caused the pockets for the knee armor to fall well below my knees. I mention this just in case any of you have the same problem I had to take them to my fiance's seamstress to move the mesh pockets up.

Regarding the pants themselves I bought them because they are entirely lined with kevlar instead of just in the seat and knees. The material is really soft, they're even more comfortable than some of the normal jeans I own. Overall I wish these jeans came with armor already installed but they are fantastic riding jeans. I would definitely buy them again.
