Sargent  World Sport Adventure Touring Seat Kawasaki KLR650

Continuing in the tradition of meticulously designed seating options, Sargent is pleased to offer the Sargent World Sport Adventure Touring Seat.

Utilizing advanced digital modeling, computer design techniques, precise manufacturing processes and superior materials, each World Sport Adventure Touring seat pan is precision-molded for superior fit and outfitted with high-quality hardware. Also featuring Sargent’s signature vacuum-formed PVC acrylic alloy seat pan, this super tough, lightweight material provides an exceptional high-performance seat foundation.

Gel-Free! Each Sargent World Performance seat offers superior comfort and suspension without the thermal retention and extra weight of gel. The Super Cell Atomic Foam suspension is a unique and proprietary blend of resilience, firmness, and vibration-absorption qualities. Most stock seats suffer from a crowned shape that centralizes pressure and creates discomfort. The level, wider and slightly cupped foam shape of the Sargent World Sport Seat distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots for incredible long-distance comfort.

All Adventure Touring Seat features marine-grade, UV-stabilized, color-coordinated upholstery - hand sewn specifically to maximize the qualities of the Super Cell Atomic Foam.

Features:

  • Widened PVC seat pan for more lateral support
  • CarbonFX vinyl
  • Super Cell Atomic Foam for improved riding comfort
  • Eliminates forward slope and provides a more neutral seating angle for the driver

Much more comfortable than stock, my feet can now touch the ground
The summary pretty much says it all. I could barely touch the ground with my toes on the stock seat. The low seat dropped me down about 2". As a new rider, made me more comfortable.

I had to stop for a break every hour or so, to give my backside a rest with the stock seat. I can now easily go for a few hours. Much more comfortable.

I've had it for a little over a year and 5500 miles, still looks like the day it came out of the box.

More comfortable than stock
This seat is significantly more comfortable than the stock seat and was very easy to install. The fabric appears to be durable but feels very light. I sometimes scrape my boot against the fabric getting off the bike and I am scared of it ripping every time. There is a break-in period.

Ride comparison:

- I am in pain after riding for 45 minutes on the stock seat
- I am in pain after 3 hours on this Sargent seat

Great seat, bad fit on '12 KLR650
I love Sargent seats. I've had them on my last 4 bikes, and they are a great alternative to stock.

While they are normally a perfect fit (as it was on my last bike, a BMW F650gs), this Sargent low profile seat has a very poor fit on a 2012 KLR650.

Out of the box, there is no way it would have fit at all. The bottom front connector (The u shaped part that slides into the tank mount) was too big to fit, and had to be sanded down considerably for it to be able to actually fit in.
The other fit issue I have, is that there is a rather large gap between the gas tank and the front portion of the seat. Not only is it aesthetically annoying, but also causes a little bit of motion in the front portion of the seat at times.

Both of these things are really not deal-breakers, as the seat is really, *really* far better than the stock seat - just with some minor mods for fit on the KLR. My other bikes have been a perfect fit, so not really a big deal!

One of my best upgrades.
For me, the stock KLR seat (2009) was a constant pain in the ...., quite literally. After installing this seat, I did an afternoons riding around, and it wasn't until we were almost back to the house that I realized I had not even given a thought to my backside.

I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam and went with the stock height seat.

As to durability, I've only put about 300 miles on it, but see no reason to this point to suspect any durability issues going forward.

Easily one of two upgrades I've made to my KLR that I would consider my best upgrades for rider comfort, the other being my windscreen.

Bang for the buck, I've seen this item for slightly less money.

Only other comment is that I've purchased several other items from Revzilla, and this is the only item ordered that took longer than 2 days. I believe I ordered it on a Friday, and recieved it the following Friday. Not a big deal, but it was different.

This seat has made life on the bike a lot more enjoyable, which is what it should be!

So much better that stock.
After 4000 miles on my stock KLR 650 seat I finally gave in and bought this seat. I can't say enough how much more enjoyable it is to ride now. On the old seat, after 50 miles I would start getting numb bum and tingling in my legs. Would need stop and walk around and NOT look forward to getting back on after a few stops. Rode 100 miles straight yesterday and could have easily gone another with no discomfort. The wide pan and gel like padding makes all the difference. Looks great too.

Install was easy enough once I realized the fork type thing on the from of the seat needs to go under the bracket that holds the gas tank. It tended to try and go between the bracket and the tank. I put the original seat back on and noted how it's suppose to go. Once I saw that, its was pretty easy to get the forks under the bracket with a little pressure on the top of the seat. then is all snapped into place.

This seat is a vast improvement over the stock seat.
I have only been out a couple of times but I can say for sure it is superior to the stock seat. The comfort level was realized during the first time out. Installation was a little more difficult than the stock seat but the comfort level helps justify that. Finish is a little slippery but not too bad. The sliding on the seat could have been attributed to the type of pants worn during the first rides. This may help when trying to clean after a dirty ride. Overall, I can say I am happy with the seat and would definitely recommend it over the stock version.

Great replacement to my KLR stock seat.
I bought this seat a year ago and it has held up well. I am off roading a lot and its holding up. I have started to notice some freying on the seems though. Another issue that I did not like was the wedge clip that goes against the gas tank is plastic and not metal. My stock seat had a metal clip. A year later and it seems to be ok. As for comfort? It is hands down better than the stock seat on the KLR 650. Instead of lasting a 45 minutes, I can pull 4 hours now.

Easily installed, a perfect fit, looks beautiful, comfortable.
I have a 32 inch inside leg. This low height KLR650 Sargent seat has transformed my commuting ride in terms of safety; I can now plant both feet flat on the ground at a standstill. No more tip-toeing. Installation took 15 mins. The clean lines of this seat transform the appearance of the bike. I shall not miss the OEM seat at all. My Sargent seat is comfortable and well made. I am very happy with this product. Delivery was efficient.

This seat is awesome .....very well made, very comfortable and well worth the money.

Everyone knows the stock KLR seat is horrible on long rides. Now with the Sargent world performance seat that changes. Long rides are no problem for the rear.

Super easy to install..... Just a couple of bolts and it is ready to be ridden into the sunset.

Don't wait buy now!!!

It's like night & day between the stock and Sargent
5'8" 190lbs with gear 32" inseam, many years riding experience. 2011 Klr. I bought the standard height seat, I can still touch the ground the same as the stock seat. I rode a full fuel tank worth of time on non slab type roads with ZERO discomfort, the seat makes that much of a difference from stock. Quite a pleasure! If you have doubts about buying do some online research and you will probably decide to. I gave an average rating for Durability due to the fact I just received it.
