R&G Racing Frame Sliders Suzuki GS500F 2004-2010 Videos

R&G Racing Frame Sliders Suzuki GS500F

Constructed of heavy-duty machined steel, aluminum and high-density nylon, RG Racing frame sliders provide maximum protection and the highest-quality fit and finish.

The slider itself is machined from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). HDPE was chosen for its high-friction qualities, as the slider wears down it actually helps to slow a sliding bike. The bolts are made of de-embrittled steel which work as shock absorbers, they bend instead of snapping, helping to reduce the chance of damaging the mounting points and thus damaging your motorcycle.

Sold as a pair.

Snapped on crash but...
Had a lowside and the frame sliders helped limit sliding but did end up snapping only at about 30mph.

Looks Great on a 2007 GS500F. (Untested in a fall)
I can't really comment on durability since the bike has remained upright.

It's easiest to install this with a friend to help align and mark the faring for correct drilling. A hole saw for my cordless drill and a dremel tool made easy work of putting a well positioned hole in each side.

The final install looks perfect. The sliders conceal the holes. I don't have reservations about recommending this set of frame sliders.

Also looked great on a 2007 GS500F, after a 45mph lowside
Although it's hard to tighten them nicely against each other - I should get a second wrench and 19mm deep socket - they look great on the bike, and protected it in my 45mph lowside. The previous owner had mounted them, and the holes weren't perfectly centered, so there's a 1cm crack from the fall where one hole rubbed on the slider, but it's hidden by the slider. I ordered replacements from RevZilla after the fall. The only damage the bike took was a 1/3-chewed-up slider, a bent end to the slider mounting bolt (included with the sliders) and a small hole in my soft Cortech saddlebag. They probably saved my leg from bearing the brunt of the bike's fall, too.

I lost one of the replacement sliders after another 1500 miles or so due to vibrations, but fortunately had the extra from replacing them - remember to tighten them up like everything else on your bike, especially on a parallel twin like this!

because I keep falling....

I think frame sliders that bolt directly to the frame are the best kind of sliders there are. Sliders similar to these saved my SV650 when I lowsided.

I needed frame slider bar for my bike as a beginner rider, my confidence isn't very high and have a tendency to lose my balance at the start.
