First Jacket
This is my first jacket, and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. I watched decide and ride probably about 50 times before picking this jacket over the Klim Induction and the Airwave 2, because I wanted the CE level 2 armor. For reference, I'm 5'10" and about 205 (about a 42 or 44 inch chest, and the large fits snugly, but not too tight. That's the right size for me.

Despite the jacket being made up of a fairly lightweight mesh in most parts, it's heavy. More so with the back-protector in. The elbow armor is HUGE, covering my arms from about 1/2-3/4 of the way down my forearm to 1/4 of the way up my upper arm. The shoulder armor is a little smaller, but still provides excellent coverage. Fully flexed, the elbow armor is a little hard/harsh on the joint, but I'm willing to give up a little there for the protection. The back protector is a little stiff, but not uncomfortably so, and fits very snugly in the pocket.

One thing to note, just on the protection side is that most of the jacket is made up of just regular mesh/nylon. Only on the outer arms is it the 750/1000 PWR shell, as noted by the little book that came with the jacket.

The jacket flows air like a champ, so while it's still a little hot in the tropical heat, it's going to do the job as good or better than anything else. As long as I'm moving, I'm getting a great breeze pass through. The cuffs have a double cinch velcro (one on top to cover the zipper and a larger one below that gathers in the excess to tighten), which makes it convenient to get on over gloves.

Since I live in the tropics, I haven't made use of the internal liner, and probably won't ever do so. I highly recommend this jacket.

Very good, almost great.
I live in the mid-south, and ride almost year round. I needed one jacket for all of it. I started with the Revit Vapor, but it did not have enough venting for the hot summers, so I decided to go with the Tornado 2. The jacket is well made as expected, and achieves a lot of things very well, but there are some simple things Revit could do to make it great. One of the other reviewers mentioned the saggy elbows. It is true. Without the liner in the jacket lacks the adjustability to compensate for the extra space. The bicep cinch is to high on the arm to bring the elbow protection flush with the arm, and if you have big biceps you will have to cut off your circulation to have any chance of not having the elbow pads hand down. Having seen the Vapor and the rail system it uses I wished I had it on the Tornado. The other negative is that the zipper pulls on the pockets are small metal ones, that are very hard to find with gloves on. The main zip has a nice pull extension, why not just put two more on the pocket zips? I will be wearing the jacket with the liner in soon, so I am curious to see how it does then, but from wearing it when it first arrived the liner is a bit short and has an elastic waist band that does not allow the liner to drop back down your body if it rides up. It may not be a big deal when riding, but it certainly stole some of the jackets comfort. It would be nice if they offered you the ability to choose how tight or loose you want it. Again, simple things that could have taken the jacket to a whole new level, and to me, would not warrant much of a price hike. Overall, the jacket does things very well, but could easily be great.

No compromises with this jacket. I'm 5'10 190 with a gut and a medium was perfect. This is nearly a three and a half season jacket with the liner and a cold weather base layer. My last 500 mile jaunt around northern PA had me in low 30s to high 70s and I had zero complaints until it warmed up and I had to pull the liner. In a medium, I'm snug with the liner in. With it out, the fit is ideal.

No cut corners with this jacket. Puts my cold weather Tourmaster Transition4 to shame. Highly recommended.

Be Aware: Very Short Liner
This jacket seemed to offer a lot of versatility. Both waterproof and mesh made for a great combo. Also, I have Rev'it boots and 2 pairs of gloves made by them that I really like. That being said, I have recently decided to replace this jacket with something else. The reason is that the liner is really short and when I ride my Star Bolt the waterproof liner rides so far up my back that it leaves like a 2 inch gap between my pants and the start of the liner. It is both cold and creates a large non-waterproof area in my waterproof set up. I would still recommend it with the caveat that it fits a person with a smaller torso length.

Excellent Summer Riding Jacket
Have had this jacket for a little over a month now and I have to say this jacket can move some air.
I'm 5'10", 240lbs and I wear a XL. Great fit in the chest/stomach area being a larger guy, however like some have already noted the arms with the liner in can be a snug fit. Have been riding without the liner as I plan to use this more for the summer and have not had any issues with fitment yet.
Living in the Northern Virginia/DC metro area you tend to get stopped in traffic a lot. Waiting in traffic this jacket breaths so much that it was able to keep me cool despite riding a Ducati Monster heating up/burning my leg off.
I rode if for the first time in the rain yesterday and having the liner in kept me pretty dry, but I was sweating buckets when I took the jacket off. Wish REV'IT made it just a waterproof liner verses a waterproof/thermal liner.
Great jacket for the price, however like most comments you have read a back protector would have been nice. Only issue I have had so far is the inside left jacket pocket is sometimes difficult to open if you are not holding the exterior of the jacket. Also the zipper pulls along the sleeves could be a bit longer like the ones the Neptune.

Great jacket, wish it fit a bit snugger
Overall this jacket is awesome. I got the tan version in size small and think it's great. I ordered the back protector for it, which fits into the jacket well and is comfortable. My only problem is that I'm a thin guy to begin with, and then my shoulders are narrower than the average person. As a result the shoulder armor doesn't fit quite as snugly as I want it to when the thermal/waterproof liner is removed. When the liner is in there the whole jacket fits me perfectly, but once it's removed the arms and shoulders are looser than I was hoping they would be. I still think the armor would probably be in the right place in the case of an impact, but a little more confidence would be nice.

If I could make any changes I'd add an adjustment band on the upper forearm to tighten up that arm and secure the armor. And of course I'd take an inch out of the shoulder width, but that won't be a problem for most people.

Disappointment at this price point.
While the fit and styling are nice, at this price point I didn't expect to have any issues with this jacket. The hand pocket zippers are impossible to operate with gloves on as the hard pulls are very small and they do not have fabric tabs attached to them like the main zipper does. Second, said pockets are positioned so far back as to be awkward. The collar fastening mechanism, while novel and more resistant to being loosened than the one on the Vapor, is likewise impossible to fasten with gloves on. Third -no back protector. At this price? Lame.

Ventilation is good though. Specifically, for a sport bike rider protected by a fairing, the mesh panels that cover the collar bone area considerably help airflow.

High Quality 3-Season Jacket
This Jacket is very high quality and very well made. There are a lot of nice style and convenience features, too. The zippers really operate slick. As indicated in the video, it fits a bit larger than most European made jackets. I did have to go to a larger size, mainly because I have a bit of belly. You get that way with a little "maturity".

Another nice thing is that the overall sizing of the jacket does not become exaggerated as you go up in sizes. I normally wear a large to extra-large in American made jackets. In this jacket, the extra-large jacket fit, but was bit tight. I exchanged it for a 2-X, and everything is just fine. I was especially worried about the sleeves being too long with the 2-X, but it fits me close enough and with the cuff adjustments on the front and back of the sleeves, it's easy to cinch down the cuffs to keep any extra length back on your wrist (without gloves). With short cuff gloves tucked in, the fit is just right. I got the black and sand color for more "Adventure Look".

I did not comment on the air flow or durability aspects because it's not warm enough in Kansas, yet, to take the liner out and I haven't had the jacket long enough to really know the durability. I do not expect any issues.

I think this jacket is everything it's advertised to be and more. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality, stylish and well made 3-Season jacket.

Perfect fit, excellent performance
I had a trip to Istanbul in July and at one of the shops tried Rev'It Tornado 2. I am a little obese and surprized that it fit very well and felt comfortable. I added Seesoft Back Protector Insert RV 05 to my purchase.
Summer is hot in my place and open mesh panels ensure good air flow. I kept waterproof layer for autumn. This jacket is the second product from Rev'It I had Sand Pro gloves and I love them both. Would recommend.

Sand not quite tan as pictured
The sand color in the pictures is shown as a rocky sandstone tan, but the actual color of those panels is more of a granite grey. I was quite disappointed, as the tan color would have been quite unique for this type of jacket.

The fit and finish was excellent, and I appreciate were Rev'it is taking their revised lineup. The interior liner has subtle changes which make it usable as a stand alone jacket for off the bike, something I wish they continue doing.

The liner was plush and comfortable, and padding fit well.

This is a waist length jacket, but not sport cut. If you're a lean guy as I am, expect a bit of room on the inside of the torso area, but Revzilla sets that expectation and the fit is true. I'm 6'1" 185bs and went with a medium.

Between the roomy torso for my lean build and the sand color not being as expected, I had to return it, but may have kept it if these were not important to me.

After reading and watch about half a dozen reviews on this and other Rev'It jackets, I decided on the Tornado 2 and I couldn't be happy with my decision. On the hot summer days take the liner water-proof liner out and you stay nice and cool, in the fall I stay warm and dry. Fit is spot on for 2XL if you normally wear 2XL this will fit prefect; more of a sport fit then touring. The armor was super comfortable in the jacket and felt way more contoured then my previous Dainese jacket.

I wanted a light color jacket for riding in summer. Temps here are regularly 95-105F and the sun is very, very hot even when the temp is only 85-90F. A black or dark colored jacket is much hotter than a lighter color due to the sun.

Not comfortable riding with nothing but a t-shirt in hot weather which cut down on riding when it was really hot out. This jacket is actually better than I expected. Fit and finish is excellent. Provides great air flow while providing ample protection. The liner is also really nice. Functional and well made and can be used with other jackets like my Aerostitch. Still reorienting myself to the European zipper but am really happy with this jacket.

Online reviews gave this jacket high marks. It is a very nice jacket and with the removable liner, it really is a three season jacket. Also, like the Velcro sleeve closures. I also have the original Revit Tornado jacket and it comes in regular jacket sizes. The Tornado 2 is sized small, medium, large, etc. I get a better fit with the regular jacket sizes, as well the original Tornado jacket is cut a little more generously.

BEST ANSWER: I was in the same boat. I already own a Klim blade jacket. I went with the tornado and I have to say it is awesome. I added the back protector as well but it is all level 2 CE armor so it is a notch above the Klim induction. All the areas on the jacket that need super strength are there. I would certainly recommend this jacket.

I am 6'3" have a 50" chest, 38" waist and 37" sleeve length(from the neck). According to the size chart I'm looking at a 4xl for my chest and a XL for my waist. What can I realistically get without feeling like I'm wearing a kite? Or should I look for a jacket in tall sizes?

Has anyone weighed this jacket (w or wo back protector)? I'm undecided between this and the ignition 2

BEST ANSWER: The Tornado 2 will be much lighter and cooler than the half leather / half mesh Ignition 2, but will be less abrasion resistant.
I've got the sand Tornado 2 with the back protector and it's pretty light.
I have the sand colored cayenne pro pants. Is the sand tornado2 the same color?

BEST ANSWER: I contacted Rev'it and they informed me they are different shades of tan/sand. They have no plans on producing a matching set of pants, they intended for them to go with the black pants.
What gloves work best with this jacket? Over the cuff or under the cuff?
stephen m on Apr 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wear the Rev'It Fly 2 glove. I find Fly 2 offers solid protection features & decent ventilation but are reasonably short. The Gove does have a bit of a "gauntlet" that fastens snuggly around the outside of the jacket cuff. The Fly 2 also has touchscreen fabric on the forefinger & thumb of each hand, which is nice with modern electronics.

Either way, I'd consider something over the cuff. The cuffs can be made to fit quite swell.
Are the red accents on the cheat, arms, and back a true red or are they orange? Detailed info on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

BEST ANSWER: I can't say for sure what the accents are on the black jacket, but on my silver jacket, the arm accent stripes are bright red.
