REVIT Seesoft Back Protector Insert

The revolutionary REVIT See Soft CE-Level 2 back protector is designed to absorb multiple impacts without compromising on comfort, ventilation or freedom of movement. The highly impact-resistant blend of Nitrille and Polynorbornene rubber results in a memory foam that is multi-impact rated and CE Certified to the highest level of prEN 1621-2:2010 level 2.

In the case of severe angular impact, the individual Memory Foam layers will shift relative to one another, resulting in impact dispersion over a larger effective surface area and therefore minimizing the energy that is transmitted to the spine and back. The Seesoft back protector performs extremely consistently in all weather conditions and is unaffected by temperature ranges from -4° F to +104° F (-20° C to +40° C).

Most REV'IT jackets are designed to accommodate a Seesoft CE Level 2 back protector insert. Newer jackets will have a marking on the protector pocket that indicates the matching type and size of the protector.

For additional information, please see the Seesoft Back Protector Insert Fit Chart or follow the sizing in the description on the product's page.

Great Protection! Takes too much space!
I purchased the RevIt Airwave jacket last summer. I wanted the Seesoft protector at the time, but it was backordered. I purchased the jacket size based on the video and size chart. I received the jacket and it fit extremely well! I was very satisfied.
The Seesoft back protector arrived about 6 weeks later. I was very excited to put it into use. I could see how it would be comfortable and provide exceptional protection.
I installed it in the jacket. But wait! Something was wrong! The jacket had shrunk a size! The jacket that had fit perfectly, now felt like a sausagemeister! Unfortunately, too much time had use had passed for me to ask for the next larger jacket.
So, buyer beware. If you are going to buy the Seesoft protector, go up one jacket size when considering size!
It is very good protection. I recommend it! Just size your jacket appropriately!

ATGATT. Cuz your spine is important
Bought this for a Rev'it GT-R Air Textile Jacket. It does obstruct airflow to your back, but it's not too bad. Really, the trade off of having protection for impacts across your spine is worth the extra heat. Additionally, the armor makes your jacket look pretty cool. Safety is street cred.

Exelente protección y precio
Cómodo,liviano,económico y Superseguro

El único inconveniente es q hace escapar menos aire por la espalda disminuyendo el flujo un poco. Supongo q es el precio de la seguridad.

Backordered FOREVER
I purchased the Xena women's jacket, which calls for this protector in a specific size which was backordered for a significant amount of time. It was very frustrating, and unfortunately (through no fault of RevZilla's) I was NOT able to obtain this piece from them. HOWEVER, the back protector itself is incredible. It's way thicker than the standard protector you'd see in other jackets. I am not certain how well it would hold up if I went spine-first into a curb or a car (as it is not rigid) but it appears that it would be excellent at dispersing the impact. I wear the back protector in the jacket and forego my stryker vest for this set. Worth the price of purchase, absolutely.

Works great with Aerostich gear, too!
I'm waiting for RevZilla to be re-stocked on the KN-106 so I can order one for my Ignition 2 jacket. In the mean time I ordered a Seesoft to try with my Aerostich Roadcrafter and Darien jackets. Aerostich sells an adapter sleeve in order to use its "Transit" back pad (actually a SAS-TEC) in its other jackets, and the Seesoft ST-12 fits right into the size Medium sleeve like it was made to do so. The Seesoft is the most comfortable back protector I've worn of the 4 different brands I've tried; I know it's there, but barely. Other protectors have either dug into my neck or put pressure on the back of my helmet or made me feel like I have a stick strapped to my back while in the riding position. No plans on personally assessing its protective qualities, so I'm putting my faith in the CE L-2 lab testing and results. The Airflow rating is relative to other protectors I've tried, which flow little to no air; the Seesoft flows "some" small amount of air, but it's a trade-off for spine protection. I'm happy to have finally found a back protector I can live with on a daily basis, and can't wait until I can buy one for my Ignition 2.

Exactly As Expected
This protector fits my Rev'it Outback Jacket perfectly. Much needed improvement over the essentially useless foam cutout that came stock with the jacket. As a back protector goes, it works just fine:
It has a pretty slim profile so I forget that it's even there. It fits snugly into the jacket based on Rev'it's jacket model and sizing guide. No surprises there. I can't speak to its ventilation properties, as my jacket is not designed to vent in that area.
The material is flexible and contours to your body inside its jacket pocket, but becomes rigid upon impact. Of course, it's CE rated so it meets all of my requirements.
For what it is, I think it could have been a little cheaper. The different layers of the back protector are glued together such that the layers can lift up around the edges relative to one another. At first this may seem cheap, but this is intentionally designed so the layers can move and help dissipate energy in the event of a crash.
As far as perceived protection goes, the seesoft back protector meets my expectations. One must remember that in motorbike crashes, direct impacts to the spinal cord are incredibly rare and make up only a tiny fraction of sustained injuries. And some back injuries occur as a result of torsional forces, forcing the body to twist in a way that causes damage to the spine. A back protector alone can't mitigate that risk. But it certainly makes me feel better. Any gear is better than no gear, and on the day that something unlikely does happen, I want to be wearing gear.

Not just foam
I'm adding this to a second Revit Defender GTX jacket. The first one was cut off by the EMT's just prior to my helicopter ride. I'm currently recovering from a hard hit to the back of my shoulder that the standard foam panel did not attenuate. This appears to offer much more protection while still flowing air and staying light weight. I don't want to try the same hit again but I'll be a little more prepared if it does happen again.

I have a Revit Sand jacket (not the Sand 2). I see on the fitting chart that I should use a type KN size 65 Seesoft back protector. I do not see this size listed as an option. Is this size no longer available? Is there another type or size option that will fit?
A shopper on Feb 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I too ran into an issue with a protector that was slightly larger than the space on my Revit jacket. Kat from the showroom said I could just use the stock protector as a template and cut down the larger protector. Worked like a charm and is very comfortable.
Hi. Is this back protector safer than a SAS-TEC or a D3O equivalent? This one is also rated CE2, but the others have molecular technology, and this one looks like "just foam". Which one would you buy? Thx!
A shopper on Aug 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Honestly, unless any of us (that don't work in the moto industry) understand exactly how this product (or any other) protects, our opinion is quite worthless about what we feel is good protection or not. All we can go by the CE rating. This one is CE level 2. The means of protection (layers of foam or molecular interaction) might not matter as long as the protection is provided. It explains how they are different but may not explain how or why one is better. Both claim to provide the same level of protection.
What size back protector should I order for the REV'IT! Levante, size SM? Type RV - Size ____
Craig L on Aug 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: According to this size chart:
http://www.revzilla.com/assets/0000/5918/20140113-Seesoft_Fitting_Chart_-_Update.pdf

Type RV Size 04.
Does the back protector need to be replaced after an accident? I recently had a hard landing on my back while travelling around 60 mph in my bike. The back protector worked great! It absorbed all the shock and I barely felt any of the impact on my back. My concern is if I need to replace it now or may continue to use it.
Rico42 on Dec 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I contacted Rev'It with this question. They replied "Our Seesoft back Protector is designed to handle multiple impacts. No need to replace the back protector. It will still do it’s job if it is called upon."
Hi, I just ordered a Rev'it Redhook jacket in size 48. I was wondering if I buy a seesoft back protector rv insert should I go up one size on the jacket? How much space will the back protector take up? Never bought anything like this before so I have no experience of this.
A shopper on Apr 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: In my opinion, the back protector insert did not take up much room in my current riding jacket (Ignition 2), so for me there was no need to go up a size in order to accomodate the insert.

I did some quick research on the Redhook, and it looks like it can easily accomodate the insert since it is not a "race fit" jacket. I would stick with your current size and try the insert...if it feels restrictive you can always bump up to the next size jacket (returns with Revzilla are super easy).
Hope this helps!!!
I have a Revit Rebel Ladies Leather Jacket in size 36 , which size and type of back protector should I use?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The Revit web site has the answer to this question, take a look. The back protector is top rate and you can't go wrong since the jacket and protector are made to fit each other.
I've got a Rev'it Horizion jacket size large. I did not see it the Horizion jacket listed on the Rev'it sizing chart for this back protector. Do you know what size Seesoft back protector I need for the Rev'it Horizion jacket size large?
A shopper on Dec 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have a Rev'it Tornado Jacket and bought the Type KN / Size: 106 as a replacement for that jacket's standard back protector. It fit perfectly. I found the sizing by looking at the back protector chart which tells the style and sizing at
http://www.revzilla.com/assets/0000/5918/20140113-Seesoft_Fitting_Chart_-_Update.pdf
The chart says that your jacket is also a KN106 insert.
I have Revit Sand jacket (1st gen) in size L and want to upgrade back armor with see-soft. Wich one should I chouse? In sizing chart it states KN 106, but it is out of stock. Maybe there is a larger one that i can trim and cut to fit into my jacket?
Agyn B on Dec 10, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I would ask the folks at Revzilla for their advice about cutting the back protector to fit your jacket. I added a REV'IT Seesoft Back Protector Insert, Type RV / Size: 05 to my Sand 2 Hi-Viz Jacket, size XL. The back protector fits my jacket perfectly, and it's very comfortable.
I'm buying a Revit Brera size S jacket. Which type and size of the protector is the right match?
Thanks
A shopper on Aug 26, 2013
BEST ANSWER: it will say the number on the inside of the jacket
What are the dimensions of the Seesoft in inches?
J J on Aug 22, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Dimensions in inches for the Seesoft back protector, Type RV, Size 05:
19 5/16" L x 8 7/8"W upper section, 6 5/8"W lower section x 5/8" thick.

I have found it to be comfortable enough to wear that I soon forgot that the back protector was in there instead of the original piece of foam. It is very flexible and east to get into the pocket.
