Vents well, doesn't protect well.
A little while back I went down wearing this jacket. I highsided during a tank slapper, and was thrown onto the asphalt at about sixty miles per hour. The jacket tore apart basically. The road rash I received was much less than if I wasn't wearing this jacket, but I still ended up with rash on the impact zones. So if you ride with this jacket on speeds higher than forty five, I wouldn't buy this. I'd go for a jacket that has leather impact zones with a textile construction, AT LEAST.

First Jacket, And It's A WINNER!
I could not have asked for a better jacket to start riding with. Here’s why:

Pros:

*This jacket actually fits. I am 5’ 11’’ with a 30-inch waist. Texans refer to me as a scrawny critter. That said, American-cut jackets swallow me whole. Rev’it produces garments that are more akin to a slim-fitting shirt and, therefore, I feel right at home when I wear this jacket. If you are at all concerned about sizing, do not hesitate to refer to the sizing chart. It is worth the trouble to measure yourself.

* Airflow is a magical thing, especially during Texas’ six-month summer. Although I have yet to ride in triple-digit weather I am confident this jacket will live up to its name. At 90 degrees I am comfortable while in motion.

* The jacket’s armor lies where it ought and stays put as it ought. For minor adjustments to the forearm/elbow armor, a snap flap is included on both forearms. This allows for a more snug fit if you happen to be a scrawny critter like myself.

* If you follow the sizing chart’s recommendations, fit will not be an issue; however, for minor adjustments to the jacket’s fit at the waistline there are velcro straps located near both hips. This was a huge save for me because, as I have mentioned twice already, I do not carry a lot of extra weight.

* If you happen to be riding with a pair of pants that do not have a compatible zipper attachment for the jacket, a snap enclosure attached to a cord will allow you to connect the jacket to a belt loop, which means the jacket will not rise up or leave you exposed while riding. I found this very thoughtful on the part of Rev’it.

* The white color scheme is particularly awesome and eye-catching. That I ended up on a white Ninja 300 makes it that much better.

Cons:

The European styling/fit of this jacket produces two infinitesimally small complaints, both of which reflect my personal preference and in no way speak negatively of the jacket’s quality.

* I am right-handed and understandably would prefer the zipper to be on the right side. Little did I know that when I bought this jacket I would learn to become ambidextrous!

* I might enjoy having a little more material on the front of the jacket as it sits just below the upper extremity of my pants. Of course, more material means more bunching when you sit in the saddle. If you are a scrawny critter, you might not like having the extra bulk.

In sum, I picked a fantastic product to keep me safe, cool, and happy while riding. If you live in a territory where the climate is warm to hot most of the year this is a fine product to consider. If you are safety-conscious like me, consider adding the appropriate back protector to this jacket as it does not come stock.

Cheers to all, and safe riding!

Great Mesh Textile Jacket
After comparing a comparable Alpinestars jacket, I decided on the Rev'It GT-R Air in white. The real deciding factor for me was the spring loaded snaps. I have had really bad luck with Velcro closures on other jackets wearing out after a season or two. Whereas, the snap closures on my leather Rev'It Hawk is still going strong.

Which brings me to my other deciding factor, great experience with Rev'It. The GT-R Air doesn't disappoint. It was my go-to jacket all summer. The 3-D Mesh flows a ton of air, even though the small, tight weave wouldn't seem like it would. The reflective elements stand out, and the color accents are stylish.

As for fit, I am 6 feet tall and 225 lbs. I wear a 44 inch chest and 34 inch waist when I buy suits. I usually buy size L in American brand clothes. For this jacket, I bought size XL, and it fits perfectly. Definitely more of a European sizing.

The fit is comfortable, and the armor is secure and unobtrusive. White does get dirty. I machine washed and air dried the jacket with the armor removed, and the the jacket zipped. Held up fine. I highly recommend this jacket.

Air Flow!! Great Summer Jacket!
I'm just going to put this out here...the "Air" in the jacket's na#e = Air Flow! The amount of air flow in this jacket is unbelievable, and I found myself shivering when wearing only a t-shirt underneath and going 55+ mph when it was about 70 degrees outside. Definitely going to depending on the awesome airflow for the extended summer weather we experience in Florida. Thankfully I haven't had to test out the safety features of the jacket, so I'll have to take the word of the manufacturer or other users here who have gone down with it. Definitely recommend this product for warm, sunny climates. Just watch out for cooler weather and/or any rain on the horizon! Also I rode out with this on for 1 night ride on the highway and came back with it splattered in bug guts. Might be doing quite a bit of handwashing, can't get away with leaving anything on there since I purchased the white color.

Great protection, comfort and price.
Purchased this jacket and worn i for the first time headed from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles at 9pm Kept me pretty cool but wasn't cold at all even riding for 2 hours straight. The next day headed to my mother and fathers home some lady made a rolling stop and came into the intersection and i performed and emergency swerve maneuver. Ending up hitting the front fender her front passanger side. The jacket saved me from a lot of road rash and saved me from hurting my shoulder and elbows

Great summer jacket, especially for the price.
This is my first motorcycle jacket and I've had it about 6 months now. I had a hard time picking a jacket due to all of the choices out there and finally decided just to pick this up because it got good reviews and wasn't too expensive.

It's obvious that it is made well and I have no doubt it will hold up. Since it was winter when I bought it this probably wasn't the best choice as it does nothing to keep you warm—it's not designed for that. It flows a ton of air.

I added the seesoft back protector as well. Not sure why they call it soft, it's rather hard actually...but not too bad. Just feels like you are wearing a small backpack if you don't have any thick layers underneath.

Things I like about this jacket are:
Fit / Good length in the arms (I have long arms).
Protection / construction
Styling
Air Flow

Things that could be a little better:
Pockets are a little hard to access
A little scratchy on the neck in front (maybe it's just me though).
A removable liner would be great but would increase the price so I prefer it's not there and the price is lower.

"You look great man, like a f@#$ing power ranger"
I have the white/black jacket, and a white airmada helmet. Some random dude in NYC walked up to me said that.

He's not wrong. Jacket looks real nice, not too sporty or hi-viz uncle, but enough to get yrself noticed. If you wear it into a store to pick something up on a quick shopping trip you won't look like a moto-douche bro.

I typically wear the jacket from 60 up, at 60 it can be chilly at highway speeds but a light hoodie under does the trick just fine. Above that it's all good. I haven't had the chance to see what it's like above 75, but I can imagine that it's pretty good there too.

As advertised and then some
I am a brand new rider at the ripe old age of 44 so I don't have the experience with what a good or bad jacket should feel just so you understand where my starting point is. This jacket however fits like a glove and flows a tremendous amount of air. Blows the Astars Aspide away. The fine attention to detail, the fit and the finish are top notch IMO. I am 5'11", 178 - 40-42ish in a suit jacket and the large fits perfect. I have turned bcak on a 68 degree day as it just felt too chilly. I live in Austin, TX and will relish this jacket in a few months when the weather really heats up!

You won't regret!!
After two summers suffering of over heating due to my "non friendly jacket" for warm weather, I decided to bet my savings on this Revit summer jacket. I must say I hit the jackpot with my choice as I am completely satisfy with this product.

First of all, I want to talk about sizing cause it is something specially important for those who buy from Revzilla from out of the USA (like me ^_^). My measures are: 39~40in chest, 5'8" height and about 170lbs (no big belly). I ended up picking the Medium size and it fitted absolutely perfect. I even used it wearing beneath a light sweter and had no drama at all. I wanted the back protector but they run out of stock, so I can't say how it woud fit with that on. I don't feel my self wrapped in the jacket, so I believe a back protector would go perfectly.

The only thing that annoyed me is the strap on the back to fix the jacket to your pants belt. If you are wearing a bag full of stuff, the button on the strap becames a preassure point due to the weight of the bag. This is not big deal, but still is good for others to know.

The air flow is great and when the temperature drops, you freeze xD
After spring is over I will have the chance to try this jacket in over 90 degree days and see if I can stand weekend rides of over an hour in the route.

Oh, I picked the white and black color and I'm surprise that the white color it's still white. I am wearing the jacket every day and I thought that with the heavy traffic, bus, trucks, etc, it wouldn't last a day clean. I even believed that it would get all dirty the moment I take it from its plastic bag, hahaha.

GT-R Air or Airwave?
I have a one piece leather riding suit and two piece leather riding suit. I wear the top of the two piece for casual street riding but it's a little much and hot. Looking for something cooler and not so loud for running errands. Riding in SoCal and other desert rides on sport bike. What is a better option?
A shopper on Aug 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Air.
I feel very comfortable wearing this with a tee shirt in 80+ degrees while riding. It has a close fit and I LOVE the collar. It's low cut and gives my neck room to breathe. I surges a spinal insert though. I wear this to work and on long (4hrs+) rides. You can always throw a sweater underneath. I ride with a club, I always have a vest on over it. I also own Rev'It pants with padding. They zip beautifully together to keep unwanted drafts from creeping up your back when leaned over on your tank full throttle open doing the speed limit ;)

The jacket also looks great with jeans. I've gotten compliments on the jacket from the ladies as we'll. I'm happy with my purchase.
I wouldn't wear this in the fall or anything below 60 degrees.
Will this jacket zip to Airwave pants?
Aleksei P on Jan 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yeah I have the Airwave pants and they zip together nicely.
Since I have the white/black Revit GT-R Textile Jacket it gets dirty easy and fast. So do you have any good tips on how to wash it? Do I need to take out all the elbow and shoulder pads? Thanks!
A shopper on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: For any protective motorcycle gear, including helmet liners, I would only recommend using Woolite detergent. It does a good job at getting the sweat and dirt out without compromising the integrity of the protective materials used in the safety gear. You can use either a warm 5 gallon bucket of water or get yourself one of those plastic tubs with the rope handles. Those work the best. You can put all the gear in the tub and let it soak for about 30 minutes. Hand rub/squeeze the materials and pads to get all the sweat and dirt out, then rinse it thoroughly with cold water. For bugs/mud, I would suggest a soft bristle tooth brush to aid in scrubbing them off. HANG DRY ONLY!!! You can use a fan to help speed up the drying process. I also recently purchased some disinfectant spray (similar to Febreze) meant for sports gear like football/soccer pads...that does a decent job at keeping any odor causing bacteria in check until you decide to do a thorough hand washing. Hope this helps!
Does this jacket come with a removable liner?

BEST ANSWER: No it doesnt...however, because the interior is made of such a breathable mesh, it wont hold sweat for very long before it dries up. I have had this jacket for months and have not had any issues with odor. Another option would be to put some Woolite detergent in a large bucket of warm water and hand wash it. Hang dry and smell fresh :D I recently purchased some disinfectant spray meant for sports gear like football/soccer pads...that does a decent job at keeping any odor in check until you decide to do a thorough hand washing. I am tall and lanky in build 6'2" and 173 lbs with 39" chest., 37" waist and 28" arms measured from edge of shoulder. Will this jacket extend down the length of my arms? I don't want to wear a gauntlet glove to cover the jacket if it hits me 3" above the wrist. I realize Im on border between M and L. Wonder if either one will work though. Thanks

BEST ANSWER: I'm 6'2", 210lbs with 28" arms measured from the shoulder. After speaking with a Gear Geek I went with the XL and their recommendation was spot on. The sleeve hits me 1/2" above my top thumb knuckle when my arms are by my side.
Why its so hard to find the back protector which is compatible with this jacket? I purchased LG jacket and Type RV / Size 05 is not available and dont know how long I need to wait. If I knew about this, then I could have purchased a different jacket

BEST ANSWER: I had a Klim D30 which needed to be trimmed a little on the sides. Trimmed with sizers! Like the Klim protector. It is $40 close out now. Love the jacket, looks good with my CBR600RR
Looking for my first jacket. Can I realistically wear this jacket spring/summer/fall in NJ? Or should I be looking at a different jacket? I've narrowed things down to three jackets. Rev It GTR air, Joe Rocket 4.0 and the Tour master Sonora

BEST ANSWER: I'm not really familiar with NJ temperatures, but I'd say it really depends on your cold tolerance, but I never ride with this below 50. You may be able to fit a windbreaker jacket or something under it, and it'd maybe be acceptable at those temps, but idk. I have a leather jacket I use when I ride in the 40s. This jacket flows a ton of air and is absolutely fantastic for the medium and hot temperatures though. So for late spring, all summer, and early fall, this jacket is amazing. I ride with this jacket prob 80% of the time, the other 20% I'm in my heavier leather one. (I'm in UT and usually ride about 8-9 months out of the year - depending on when it starts and stops snowing and being super cold in the winter months)
what kind of main zipper in on this jacket ? ykk metal starter noc or plastic chineese zipper?
brycea12 on Jan 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The main zipper (as well as the forearms down to wrists) uses YKK zippers. Plastic elements, but the slider bodies and puller tabs are metal.
Does this comes with any inside liner to protect from light rain, just in case it happens? Or same liner to be used to reduce airflow in cooler weather situations?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No liner but thats the way I like it. Its light and cool but still good crash protection. A rain suit over it does a much better job for wet or cool mornings
Love this jacket but interested in more heavy duty spinal protection than suggested in the description. What would work with this particular jacket? Thanks :)
A shopper on Feb 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You can buy a back protector. I used the Dainese Manis D1 protector I have for my Dainese leather jacket. Its fits great in the Rev-it Air. Although the back protector had to go in upside down because of the pocket shape in the Rev-It jacket.
