Great pants, just watch the length.
First off, I got these for 3 season winter riding so I didn't want air flow. The weather resistance of the Hydratex, the thermal lining, protective armor, style matching with my Nautilus jacket, and price are what drew me to these pants. I wasn't interested in wearing jeans or anything underneath, which is good because I don't think I'd have space with the thermal liners in. I just wear a pair of Duofold lightweight base layer pants (very thin) under these and stay absolutely warm and comfortable in 40 degree temps. The pants zip to my jacket and the waist comes up high enough that I never worry about air going down my back or anything. The pants are actually bulkier and heavier than I expected, but it's not a bad thing. I also had to turn them inside out to get at the knee armor pockets so I could raise them, which is just a matter of adjusting the armor between velcro strips inside the pocket. The hip armor was a little uncomfortable at first, but seems to have broken in. I'm 6' and 183 pounds. I got a large (standard length) and they fit perfectly when I'm walking around. However, I ride a Honda NC700X which is an upright riding position and due to how my feet sit back on the pegs, the pants ride up considerably. So while the length is good while walking, they pull up over the tops of my boots when riding which leaves space for cold air and/or water to get in. So even though I usually wear a size 34/30 or 34/32 jean, I would have gone for the longer length in these pants to add more boot coverage when I'm riding. I'll have to get some taller boots at some point to solve this problem as I didn't realize it until after I had ridden with the pants and couldn't exchange them. One last observation which is a bit annoying is that the velcro tabs at the bottom cuffs of the pant tend to get caught up on my foot pegs when I get going from a stop. I've learned to compensate by swinging my legs out further when I lift my feet up, but it's a little awkward.

Great pants...if you're thin
So even though Rev'it makes the Factor 3 pants in big sizes, they're not a great fit for big guys. It seems the larger sizes were made by simply upscaling the smaller sizes, but unfortunately, bodies aren't built like that.

I'm 5'9" 200lbs, so I'm chubby, but not huge. I know there are some fat guys with chicken legs, but I'm not one of them. I've got a 38" waist and while the XL pants are the perfect size for my waist, they're so tight around my butt and thighs that I can barely move in them. So I had to go up to the 2XL, but then the waist is very loose. If I cinch in the waist adjusters as far as they will go, it's tight enough, but then there's enough excess material around the waist that it bunches up.

Below the knee, the pants are ridiculously baggy, even with just the XLs. I know you need some room to fit over boots, but they're almost the same diameter as the thighs.

I'm still keeping the pants because the build quality is great and the protectors stay where they should be despite the fit not being perfect.

However, I would say to Rev'it: when making big sizes you can't just take the pattern made for thin guys and upscale it by X%. You need to add a little more room in the butt and thighs while keeping the calf area a little smaller in proportion to everything else. Our bodies don't put on fat everywhere evenly.

Great for Commuting
I bought these pants along with a Rev'it Nautilus Jacket for fall/winter commuting in Georgia. I'm 5'9" about 190lbs and typically wear pants with a 35"-36" waist and 30" inseam. I bought the Factor 3 pants in XL short, which is perfect for use as overpants with work slacks underneath. I bought the strapper suspenders as well which I really like to keep the pants up. As you would expect, airflow is pretty nonexistant but as fall commuting paints in Georgia (temperatures from 45F to 80F so far) they work well. The only change I would recommend would be the addition of full-length pants zippers like my mesh summer pants, but I understand these weren't designed as overpants and therefore have just short zips. The two front pockets are decently sized and so far they work well for a wallet and keys.

I'm very happy with my Factor 3 pants
These are excellent winter pants, I usually ride with just a thin base layer like underarmour, and they keep me warm in all temperatures. I usually wear a heated jacket in winter, but don't need heated pants with the Factor 3's. For the price, they are an excellent value.
I'm 6'1" and they fit very comfortably, with the knee pad falling just the right spot. Good shin protection too. The hip pads take a little breaking in, but all in all these pants offer a lot of protection and versatility.

Great Value
To begin, my review is based on initial impressions, as I received these pants a few days ago, and have ridden with them twice.

The fit is on the smaller side, so if your physical measurements are on the edge definitely choose the bigger size. If you are planning to wear pants under these then definitely choose the next size up. I am 6'2", and typically wear 36" to 34" waist pants with a 34" inseam. My actual measurement was around 39". I ordered the XXL Tall, and the fit is pretty spot on.

These pants look great, and are nicely understated (you could get off the bike and walk into work, and not look silly). They also look like normal pants not crazy snow pants. They look and feel like a quality product. The armor is excellent, and these are the first pants I have purchased where the knee armor actually is in the correct place in the riding position. The slider button peice is also very nice, as well as the zippers (every issue I have had with gear is always with the zippers),

While riding these don't really call attention to themselves, and you feel protected, which is what you want your gear to do. They are comfortable and not baggy.

There is no venting, and so far I have used them from about 60 degrees to 85. At 60, with no liner, you don't feel any cold (this was with gym shorts underneath). At 85, they were warm. While moving it wasn't too bad. This was with jeans underneath, and my legs did get a little sweaty by the time I got home. In fairness, these pants were not designed to be overpants. With no pants on underneath I'm pretty sure it would have been better.

In summary, these are an incredible value, and are easily the best of the 3 pants I have owned.

Nice Fit & Style
I great fall, winter or spring riding pants. My inseam is a 31 in. so the short version fit good. The thermal liner is removable but the waterproof liner is not. I would estimate temperatures above 75 F will be warm for these pants. Really like the new style slide and lock pants buckle and the SeeSoft hip armor Revit is using. Good fit and look.

GREAT Cold Weather Pants
These pant are amazing! Unless you need to vent than don't spend more money. If you are heavy set than probably go with another style. These are slimmer fit, but they have really nice waist adjustments. I bought them because they don't look bulky.

They are warm. I rode in 40-45 degree weather when I got them and literally couldn't feel any cold air. These are over-pants without the insulated liner. If you pull the liner out for fall and spring than you can wear pants underneath them.

I'm 5'9 and 155 pounds. Medium regular fits great. The knee armor is adjustable in height.

Winter Riding pants
I'm 5'4 135 pounds and I fit the XS. I purchased these pants for my daily commute of about an hour in Washington. They insulation is great and keeps you warm. These pants are riding pants and its hard to wear pants underneath them if you size the pants correctly. Ive been riding with these for about 2 weeks under heavy rain and they have been fantastic.

Use as overpaints. Waterproof and protection all in one. Great for commuting. Additional thermal liner great for cold weather. Cannot use as overpants with additional thermal liner. A bit tight at the leg opening so these are hard to put on over boots as zipper does not go far up leg; this also keeps them waterproof so OK trade-off.

I thought they'd be a good choice for rain gear. They were way too baggy for me. I prefer slimmer fitting (not slim fit) pants. I could have easily wore a pair of pants under these. And they were very similar to snowmobile pants.

BEST ANSWER: Just the knees
Can this be worn comfortably as an overpant?
Jeepguy7 on Apr 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I wear jeans and khakis and it is comfortable with the liner removed from the pants and a little snug with the liner in the pants. I would suggest going up a size to accommodate for the liner.
What size would I need? I am a skinny guy about 5'6" and 125lb. Unsure between XS or XS (short)?
Steven D on Feb 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm 5'10" 174lb and I use Lg (short). The lenght is just about right for me but it is also a little loose at the waist I believe XS short would be the right size. All in all a great buy
Does these pants have shin protectors or just knee?
A shopper on Jun 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The knee armor does not extend much lower than the knee, but the knee coverage is quite good. The pads are not small.
Can these be worn in the boot?
