Saved my Arm
I was wearing this jacket when I ended up laying down my bike. I went down...hard. I landed directly on my shoulder. This jacket saved my shoulder from breaking and only left me sore for a few days. BUY THIS JACKET!

Breathable Jacket
I was taken by the video and the price. This is my second motorcycle specific jacket, so I can only compare its build quality to my Schott Perfecto. I'm 6'1, 191 lbs, 42" chest, 34" waist" and athletic build. Review based on size Large, and I live in Dallas area.

Initially, I was on the fence about returning for a bigger size, but really didn't have the patience to wait another week. In hind sight, I should have. It's a bit too snug in the shoulders which pulls the short jacket high.

Unwisely I fastened the looped belt connectors (basic elastic strips with snaps) and after the second ride noticed one was fraying and the other tore off completely. The sleeves are oddly short as well, which makes little sense on a motorcycle jacket. There's a 4" gap of bare forearm in the riding position, between glove and sleeve end..

Nonetheless, it's a one season and apparently one year of use, perforated plastic jacket. I wouldn't recommend unless you're short, stout or just don't care about the quality of product you spend your money on. It's perforated and provides better than nothing protection, as it arrives. I don't trust it would protect much in a slide as it doesn't feel well constructed. Zippers are plastic and rest is polyester/nylon.

Excellent Quality Summer Jacket
I ride a large cruiser and don't care for leather jackets or vests. I spent most of last summer riding with just a t-shirt but decided this summer to buy a mesh jacket. I wanted something very simple and light as well minimalistic. I looked at just about every mesh jacket that fit the criteria and decided on the Rev'it Eclipse. The video review that Revzilla has was extremely helpful.

As for fitment, the video review explained that this is a sport cut jacket (not blocky/American size) and will be sized small as well. I would normally wear an XL or 2XL but the chart puts me at 4XL. I was a little nervous it wouldn't fit right but after trying it on it fit just about perfect, with just enough room to adjust into.

The overall quality of the jacket and materials is top notch. I looked the jacket over well and there isn't a single minor defect anywhere (not even a frayed stitch). This is my first piece of Rev'it gear but from what I have read, Rev'it is premium stuff and after seeing this jacket in person I would have to agree.

The jacket is very slim and extremely comfortable. The armor doesn't feel bulky at all like some jackets I have had in the past and fits/moves around comfortably. The liner around the collar is quite nice as well. The zipper is very beefy and zips nicely. My only minor issue with the whole jacket is in the zipper. It zips up on the opposite side than any other jacket I have owned but I will get used to it.

The jacket appears to have plenty of mesh which is really what I was going for. I overheat and wanted lots of airflow on the chest and arms and it looks like the placement of the mesh on this jacket will cool well. You do sacrifice protection on this jacket which I already accepted, but it's much better than just a t-shirt.

In summary, the jacket is much nicer quality than what I expected, and fits me very well. It cost a bit more than what I wanted to spend originally (and was more than some of the other jackets I looked at) but it's well worth it. I gave it 5 stars because it far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a light/thin summer mesh jacket, then I would definitely recommend this over most of the others I looked at. And it beats wearing just a t-shirt.

Excellent Air Flow
I live in Phoenix-- arguably the hottest major city in the country-- and I ride here daily. This jacket is as good as it gets for ATGATT hot weather riding. I've worn two other mesh jackets (Fly Flux Air, and Fly Cool Pro), and this one beats them both, hands down, in terms of air flow and protection. Yes, it's also more expensive, especially with the CE2 back protector added on, but for me living here, it's worth it. Also, the Eclipse comes in a fully light color (including the shoulders, which get the most intense sun), which matters greatly in keeping slightly cooler, especially when compared to standard heat-absorbing black. If you need a dedicated, serious hot-weather jacket for protection that has great air flow, this is it. Do take the advice of others and size up one size. I'm 6'0", 205 lbs, I used the Revzilla sizing chart for this jacket and then had to return my original XL and get a XXL (which Revzilla did lightning fast and without a hitch), and the XXL fits great. Can't recommend enough. Now Rev'it! need to make some super-hiflow Eclipse Pants to match!

Perfect for us vertically challenged guys
The price and the simplicity look of the jacket is the reason why I ordered it. The arm armor is perfect for us guys that have skinny arms (none to semi muscular) as the sleeves stay in place (unlike the American fit jacket where the armor is loose due to the large sleeve diameter). Everything is stitched quite well and the mesh is for the most part away from the crash zone. This jacket should be enough for a fall under 50MPH, therefor when buying this jacket, do it for the purpose of summer city riding.

As for features, well there are none. You get two exterior pocket, a deep interior pocket, one small blacked out to dark grey reflective Rev’it logo at the back, belt hooks, and that’s about it.

It is very comfortable on and off the bike. I did, however, change the Knox shoulder armor to D30 armor to look less like a football player. I love the style as it doesn’t shout “I am a motorcycle rider”. It almost has that Café Racer look to it due to its plain simple look and snap collar. I am 5 foot 5 inches, 36 chest, 140 pounds, and small torso. The Small fits me spot on, therefor I’d say the sizing chart is accurate if you are slim build. If you are on the taller size, have a bit of a gut, or a bit muscular, despite the chest size, i'd say go one size up. This jacket is perfect for us short guys. The arms aren’t too long and provide good coverage on any riding style. The torso is just perfect, no skin is exposed, nor does it bunch up when sitting down on the motorcycle. It’s a slim fit for sure and I like it. With the hip adjustments, I can loosen it up so I can fit a sweatshirt underneath no problem on morning rides.

I live in the south with tons of heat and humidity, therefor airflow was a must. You can definitely feel the heat when at stop or slow traffic (especially if you get the Black version) but once you get moving, without the back protector, it circulates air very well. With the back protector my back will sweat a bit and you’ll know the protector is there, but it’s still going to be one of the most air moving jackets out there today without reducing protection even with the back protector.

At its price point for the features you get, I’d say it’s just a little bit on the expensive side, but I have no choice as Rev’it is one of the very few brands that fit my body type. If you are going to the track or do spirited riding, get something with a bit more textile. If you are city summer commuting, short in height with slim build, and want a simple jacket look, I’d recommend it.

Quality jacket
I needed a summer jacket for the few months of hot weather riding and didn't want to spend a lot of money for something that will sit in the closet most of the year. I'm quite impressed with the quality and functionality of the Eclipse. I usually wear a large in most jackets, (6', 185 lbs.) including Klim but opted for XL and it fits perfect. Sizing definitely runs small. The good news is my large Klim Stow Away breathable Gore-Tex jacket can be worn over the Rev'it jacket during a pop-up rain shower. The feature that first attracted me was the minimal logo branding. I can't stand obnoxious looking logo's plastered all over moto clothing and the clean styling suits my taste. I added the Seesoft back protector and noticed it will affect sizing. If you're on the border go up a size for sure. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Great stylish summer jacket
Looks: I purchased the brown version of this jacket, and yes, the Revzilla video is way off as far as the coloring is. It is closer to the photos, but the mesh and polyester do reflect light differently but it's not as drastic to the video. i'd say it's closer to a "military brown".

Fit: I'm 6', 200lbs with some oddly long arms. I usually wear a L or XL and have a hard time finding the right balance between sleeve length and too much slack around my torso. The XL fits perfectly and the waist/sleeve adjustments help to keep everything snug. Sleeves reach my wrists with my arms extended and theres just enough room in the stomach/chest area for a back protector to fit and everything be snug. I'd say this runs a little small but there's room for adjusting. If you're over 6' go with the XL.

I was looking for a brown mesh jacket, something different than the typical black or silver mesh, and this fits the bill with a decent price tag to boot. Airflow is great, it's comfortable and well stitched. I highly recommend.

Great Jacket
I've been very impressed with the Evlipse jacket. I opted for the brown color and it looks great with my brown leather adv boots. Great airflow and the protection (with optional Seesoft back insert) leaves me feeling confident during each ride.

A+ for style, comfort and protection.

A good jacket for Georgia's humid cities...
The fit and comfort: I'm kind of a short fat guy at 5'7 and 230ish. The size chart was pretty much spot on for me, I measured my chest and ordered the 2XL which fit perfectly with comfort room to spare. The 'cut' of the jacket is very relaxed, no tight spaces, and the areas that allow for adjustment appear to be useful, if you aren't a heavy set guy like me that fills out the entire jacket...

The quality of the product seems pretty decent -- I have wiped out on a bike before (granted only at low speeds - <40) and I feel pretty confident that this jacket would hold up against things like that -- maybe even more than once, which would be a +1 for non leather armor. Nothing seems terribly flimsy or poorly constructed, aside from perhaps the perforated nylon liner within the jacket, which doesn't change much of anything.

The features, style, and bang for the buck are all pretty highly ranked in my book. I purchased the brown colored jacket and enjoy the simplicity (but sharpness) of the styling - the lack of gaudy branding makes it even better. The jacket features adjustable pockets for all the standard CE protection you would want in a jacket, and it comes with decent CE-rated protectors for the shoulders and elbows (sans-back protector). This jacket also has belt loops, folks! A semi-rarity for jackets in this price range and of this style. The pockets are large enough and decent enough to hold your standard bike jacket stuff (nothing, cell phone, maybe some papers...).

And now, the most important reason why I bought the jacket: Airflow! Some Georgia cities, depending on your proximity to water, can feature extreme humidity and heat combinations during the summer months -- This jacket does really well at making those hot and humid days fairly tolerable. I've ridden with this jacket for two weeks now on days that have hit 90, 95, 100 degrees. Of course almost nothing makes sitting on your bike at a traffic light during one of those days tolerable, but the feeling of the airflow through this jacket in the arms and body is like no other summer riding jacket I've worn to date. Highly recommended.
