Absolutely Killer
Just scored this jacket and am completely blown away. This is the nicest piece of clothing I own period, not to mention moto gear.

6', 185lbs, NYC.

Super comfortable in a size L with liners and hoodie, no liner and hoodie, and jacket alone. Easily adjustable to fit all 3 and jacket, though heavy as &%!# in the hand wears light on the back.

Good airflow when you need, warm when you don't. Knock on wood I haven't had to test the armor yet but it feels super sturdy.

Ain't cheap, totally worth it. Would definitely buy again/recommend.

Good looking kit for drier rides
Man, this has to be one of the better looking modern jackets you can get. I wanted a jacket that I could wear on all of my bikes from the 900SS to the giant trailie, and this fits the bill perfectly. Unlike many adventure-style jackets, it's not a 3/4 length body, so it doesn't bunch up in the front on a sporty bike, and you're not sitting on six inches of extra material out back. The length is just perfect. The main zipper is not a two-way, but it doesn't need to be since the length is correct.

As for the fit, I'm 6'5" with a 42 chest and 36-37 sleeves. This jacket in XL fits great, though as usual, I could use an extra inch in the sleeves - they are fine in a dual sport posture, but they pull up just a bit on my sport bike. Otherwise the fit is wonderful and the adjusting straps let you cinch everything just right or open it up to let a little bit of air through.

Speaking of air, with the sleeve and chest vents open, this thing cools almost as well as a full mesh jacket. It's really good and I think it will be a four season garment here in California. The trade-off is water protection. The outer shell will saturate, though the liner will keep you dry. The jacket liner can be stored in the rear rabbit pocket easily enough but it does add some bulk. On a longer trip, stowing the jacket and pants liners will take up some room and if you ride often in the wet, you'd be better off with the Poseidon jacket at the expense of venting.

I've ridden in 80 degree temps so far and remained nice and cool. The full length sleeve zippers are wonderful. I've also been on a 29 degree ride and I got cold, but my fault for going unprepared. I had on a soft shell mid layer and that was not enough. Normally if I'm riding in the cold, I'll have on my Widder electric vest and a cheap REI zip fleece and will be toasty warm.

Things I don't like - the collar slider snap. This is just dumb. The slider is a good idea on paper but in practice, really what I need are two snaps or a patch of velcro there. One snap for a looser fit for warm weather, another for closer fit to seal out the cold wind. The slider snap would not stay in the tighter position right out of the box, there's just not enough holding power to stay put. Not a huge deal, but why include a silly gimmick when there are better ways to do it?

Pockets are adequate though the large front patch pockets are a little bit awkward to get your hands into, ditto the handwarmer pockets which seem to have openings that are just a little too small. If you carry your phone in the wet, be aware that none of the pockets are behind the Gore-Tex liner, so you'll need to carry it in your mid layer pocket or put it away somewhere dry.

All in all, I really love this jacket and I get compliments on it every time I wear it. If you are OK with the wet weather vs. venting trade-off, you'll like it too.

Awesome Suit! Beats BMW Rallye.
This is the suit I've been waiting for. I have a 12 year old BMW Rallye 2 suit that has served me well over the years. The suit is still amazingly functional and looks good for its age. I wanted something very similar. I needed a slim fit (not boxy), removable waterproof liner, tall size and excellent airflow for a wide range of temperatures. This suit fits the bill perfectly.

I am 210lbs and 6' 4" tall. The 2XL jacket and XL Tall pants fit perfect. The cut is slim just like my old BMW suit, but still enough room to layer up or use my heated jacket. Compared to the Rallye 2 the material is heavier and more durable, but still very comfortable. I have about 10,000 miles on the new suit now from 24F up to 100F. The jacket venting is just slightly less than the old suit, but the pant venting is better. Most vents can be operated while riding which is nice. I hate stopping.

Off road, the gear works well. Up to about 90F and light off-road work on the 1200GS and still comfortable. Moving at speed 100F is no problem on the road.

The liners fit as expected and block the wind nicely. Lots of zippers and vents means tiny bits of air leak in and the liner prevents airflow when you want it. Tons of adjustability on the sleeves and legs. I don't run the hip and back armor, but it is all high quality.

Changes? The neck snap is good idea, but always goes to the most open position. Just two snap positions would be better without the adjuster. I'm just happy Velcro isn't used. The extra Velcro on the pant closures is lame. I'll never use the pants that closed its looks strange white with black stripes. Just get rid of it.

The new BMW Rallye suit is a joke. Everything is Velcro, like the neck and pant adjusters which I hate. Velcro wears out. The fit is like ski pants with enormous legs and the armor can't stay put. The jacket is all boxy, bulky and you can't move. I returned it immediately.

The KLIM adventure gear has a boxy, baggy fit, which I didn't like. Other gear didn't come in tall which is necessary at over 6ft.

I didn't want the Gore-Tex laminated to the suit, as So Cal rain is infrequent and I need maximum venting. If it is really raining hard, like all day rain, I just throw on a cheap rain suit. The liner system works well at keeping you dry, but the exterior does get soaked.

I just throw the jacket/pants in the tub with some Tide Free, hang dry and the light colored gear looks new again. Nikiwax cleaner is too weak and leaves the jacket still dirty.

In short, awesome piece of gear. Super well made and looks sharp. I hope to get 10 years out of the gear.

Too many improvements to pass up!
I have found the Defender PRO and it’s upgrades worth the investment. As an existing owner of a Defender there were so many improvements from the existing my Defender that I had to purchase the Defender PRO. Honestly Anthony’s video covers the jacket throughly and I found him his assessment accurate.
There are couple areas that I found particularly useful and I con comment on. First, the front pockets open vertically and velcro close. They are not large but are very handy. The redesign chest pockets are slimmer and don’t look like manboobs as the original Defender looked.

The arms are much slimmer making the elbow armor fit much better and ventilation is much improved with the elongated zipper further up the arm. I like the enlarged rabbit pouch to store soft items for quick access.

A couple other observations. The jacket adds zippers at he hem to allow for flexibility for riding position and flexibility with stuff is in the rabbit pouch. The Seesoft back protector fits and feels much better than the SasTec I use in the original Defender. The shell fabric is very flexible and soft to the touch.

Eliminating the thermal liner in the Defender PRO is my preference since I use heated gear with lower temperatures. The liner to drop Gore Tex gives me more options across a broad temperature range.

Having the original defender go from 19F to 119F I suspect the PRO will be better in the higher temperature range.

I’d say the fit is a bit snugger than the original Defender but I prefer it’s cut and design over more boxy cut jackets.

Excellent protective jacket
Sizing first: talk to staff at RevZilla. They were spot on. I am 6'3" 208lbs with 44-45" inch chest and 25 1/2" arms from center of neck. Shoulders are wide. XL fits like a glove when cinched down on sides and arms. I could get a light base layer under gore tex liner or heavy layer w/o. The liner goes in easy. My first trip in the jacket had me starting out at 50 degrees in the AM and I was a bit concerned how much I felt the cold on my chest compared to my leather jacket but that was with the liner in the leather. Turns out it was concern for nothing. Had a button down dress shirt on underneath jacket and liner and did fine temp wise at shall we say more than legal highway speeds. Bike is a 2013 Ducati Multistrada btw. Now on the way home from work it was 83-85 degrees and with all the vents open I was surprised at the level of comfort I had in the jacket. If I opened the flare on the side air would get up there and between that, the arm vents, chest vents and back vent the only place I got sweaty hot was in the chest in stop and go traffic. That happens with my leather and mesh iconn jacket but worse so I am very pleased.

Quality of the jacket I find is top notch. No hanging threads. No missed stitching or plan bad stitching jobs. The armor fits exactly where it is supposed to and while in the grey and black I feel like a storm trooper( I have the matching pants) I got to say the geek in me finds it hilarious.

All in all this is my first major purchase in this price class and quality range and I am thoroughly impressed.

The reason for my purchase is for some quality do it all fear that will protect me the best, absent a full race suit, if I should go down. I have full faith that this gear will do that.

Plus, if I wanted I can easily use the gear for some adventure riding as well as on the KTM exc off road.

Durable, and nice style!
I give 4 star to this jacket because of the price. Cayenne pro with the same protection CE Level 2 , almost the same material is $560. (Cayenne doesn't have 1000D shell but it has leather in lower arms and shoulders also it has kidney belt and Defender doesn't have them.) $340 more for Gore-tex layer.! I'm 5.6 ft, 140 lb. The S size is perfect for me. I still have room for a thick sweater. ( Cayenne Pro S size is tight in chest, and Sand 2 jacket S size is bulky for me) The material is very good and the style is beautiful. (fashion) Stitching and detail are ok. (it's not as clean as BMW Rallye) I believe generally we don't have 4 season jacket. This is 4 season jacket for California , but not for Minnesota, New York,.. (you should buy mid layer separately for low temperature). I was ok in 50-75 F. Air flow is good and ventilation with zipper is easy to open during the ride (I haven't worn it in summer) It kept me dry in heavy rain, but make sure that you don't have anything in sleeve and inner packets. (my registration gone in the rain) There is just one durable pocket in Gore -Tex layer for keeping important documents. The outer shell absorb water and it get heavy. It's takes few hours to dry. If you have rain a lot, maybe REV'IT! Poseidon GTX Jacket is better option, but it doesn't have small size and Level 2 protection. I don't like this part that it's just hand wash (no machine wash, no dry cleaning). Protection with CE Level 2 is awesome.
At the end, Defender is the most comfortable jacket that I've worn. good material and durable, I know the long destination is waiting for me. :)

Excellent jacket
I upgraded from a 6 year old Revit Dakar jacket that I use for commuting year round. I had planned on the Dominator Pro pant and jacket, but after trying the Dominator Pro pant I found the lack of vents made it too much of a cold weather pant. So far the rain protection seems to have no leaks and I love the ventilation. The sleeve vents seem to make the biggest difference. Very satisfied with this choice.

Excellent jacket. Watch the sizing.
I've lived in this jacked for a few months now, so it's time for my review.

First off - it's a great garment. This is a premium priced jacket, and you get what you pay for. The seams are perfect, the material is obviously top shelf, and the armor is the best you can get. The styling and colors are excellent. It matches my bike!

Fitment: Anthony, this is *not* an American cut. Cortech makes American cut sizing. Rev'IT is a solidly European brand, and their sizing follows suit. I wear a 44" long suit jacket - and the XL size was simply too small. If I weighed 30 pounds less, I might have fit the XL - tightly. Revzilla has amazing customer service and I was able to swap my jacket for a 2XL (heck, they even waived the return shipping!). The 2XL fits perfectly on my shoulders, but I have to admit it's a little tight on the old beer gut. I'm 6'2" and weigh in at 235. I'll repeat it: This is a Euro cut. If you're a typical American male with any type of a gut on you (and you probably do, if you can afford a jacket at this price point), go up a size. I followed the sizing chart religiously, even calling Revzilla before pulling the trigger - and still had to exchange the XL they recommended. That said, the jacket is *very* adjustable, with straps to adjust size on each arm and two on each side.

The Goretex liner is perfect and fits in securely. It does add a bit of bulk to the jacket. It also negates any venting you might have going on - don't equip the liner if you intend to ride in temperatures above 65F. If it were pouring rain, it'd still be fine, but Goretex on a hot day is like a wet blanket.

Venting: There's 4 chest vents, a long forearm vent for each arm, and a back vent. They compare poorly to a full mesh jacket. I will not wear this jacket in anything over 80F temperatures - it's just too hot and the vents not effective enough. This is a 3-season jacket - get a mesh for summer, if it's hot where you live.

Armor: Seesoft CE level 2 everywhere. The back protector is burly and there's a lot of confidence that comes along with it. It is, however, bulky, and you'll feel it on your back. Shoulders and elbows are much more tolerable and there's confidence there too. No real complaints - the bulk the back protector adds is offset by the feeling of comfort and safety it delivers.

There's numerous pockets. The chest pockets are quite useful, as is the smartphone pocket on the inside. The handwarmer pockets are made for people with *tiny* hands and are generally useless. There's a stow pocket on the back with an expander zipper; you can fit a house in there. There's even a tiny forearm pocket (the "Colorado Pocket", thanks Anthony) which I have not found a use for. Perhaps a visit to Colorado is in order!

I've commuted with the jacket for a couple of months now, with several weekend rides amongst the twisties including a few hundred miles out in the redwood forests outside of San Francisco (that was an epic day). Overall I can say the jacket delivers on value if you can get the fit right. I'll work on losing a few more pounds and it'll fit better. For now, the jacket is great and I'd buy it again, especially with a company like Revzilla behind it.
