Great summer jacket, and a Water bag sizing note.
First off, I ride in Southern California in the summer. it is hot as a #$#$% here.

The second you put this jacket on, you're going to pop a layer of sweat. Thats how it is, if you want body armor in the summer. But the second you start moving, even at low speeds, your body feels the breeze, and all is well. It really is like having the AC set on "low" in your car. Im comfortable riding it at high noon, on the freeway, on the dirt trails. This jacket is a blessing for its depth of armor protection and its fit.
I thought even with the mesh I would be dying in this thing. Nope, it works. Im actually kind of amazed I could stay in it all day, even on slow trails with lots of exertion.

NOTE ON WATER BLADDER- there is a pouch in the back for the water bladder. When you use it, you are going to loose about 1/2 a size in the jacket when the bladder is full. I would suggest using the flattest, most square bladder to avoid this.

Without the water bladder, A large was roomy on me and I had to tighten up the side straps on the jacket by about 50 percent. . Im 5-10", 185 pounds (its all muscle, no flab).

When I put the water bladder in the jacket I had to loosen the straps all the way, and it still felt a bit tight. I wish there was about 2 more inches to loosen to have the bladder feel comfortable. Of course, after drinking half the bladder its all good.

FIT- its a sharp cut. Its not one of these baggy adventure jackets. Its built with room, but with a form fit cut. An over weight person still has room inside the proper size to let the side straps all the way out. I personally love the fit of the jacket. it hugs in the right way around the armor, yet moves freely on and off the bike. Im actually really impressed by the fit.

Runs Small
This is my 4th Revit jacket. 2 Airwaves and a Sand 2 all still in use. Sizing: I'm 5'8", 165lbs. 39" chest. 31-32" waist. Have always comfortably worn size Small in all my previous Revit jackets and pants. In this one I definitely needed a Medium. Runs very snug. Returns are great as always though. I recently hit $10,000 in Revzilla purchases on my account and the service is excellent if you have any doubt.

Like others said, feels warm putting it on standing here in my San Diego garage but once moving, it's great. I did a 200 mile jaunt around the high back country this past weekend. Dirt, sticky humidity and heat of 95 degrees. Felt very comfortable in this jacket. Definitely think the gray helps it stay cooler.

All is excellent about the jacket except the "hold the collar flap open" thingy. I say thingy because it's a chintzy tiny little loop of string basically that you're supposed to feed around this 1/4" little hook. No way is that happening with gloves or without looking in the bikes mirror to see what the heck is happening. And once it's hooked, it blows off in minutes. Very annoying. Definitely just going to add my own industrial Velcro for easy gloved use. No way the designer ever tried to use that flap stay while on the bike.

Fit me like a glove. Love it.
I thought this might be too hot for the mid Florida summers because it does not have full mesh all over like my previous jacket. But I was pleasantly surprised by how well it breaths once underway. Granted it does get warm if sitting in traffic.
It has many nice features like easily opened pockets, an expandable Fanny Pack that can hold a rain suit top. The inner armor is much better than the foam stuff that breaks in about a year. All the materials, fit and finish are top notch. Some may think the price is too much, but after using it and seeing the quality and durability, I suspect this will be my last jacket I will ever need for warm weather riding.
Very pleased with this product and the Revzilla service.

LOVE my new Cayenne Pro!
First, to help you guys with fit: my vital statistics - 5-11, 185, with a 44 chest, 36 waist, and 41 hips; 34" sleeve, 32" inseam. The XL jacket fits me spot-on, and i'm right there in Rev'It's size chart as an XL. I also have the Cayenne Pro pants in a L regular, and they fit perfectly, as well.

The Cayenne Pro (CP) jacket flows air fairly well. On those hot, humid days (I've ridden in 95 degrees and humid a couple of days), almost nothing is going to be truly comfortable, but as long as you keep moving, the mesh panels in the jacket are getting air through. With temps in north Texas dropping into the 60's now, the morning rides to the office are perfect, but once winter hits, I can see needing a windproof layer under the CP as temperatures get into the 40's

I've only had the full CP suit for a couple of weeks, but I am absolutely impressed thus far. I like the more-snug, "European" cut to the jacket than the bulkier-cut jacket I'm now retiring - this suit feels much more like it's moving with me on the bike, instead of against me and getting in the way. The materials, fit, and finish are excellent, and with the internal kidney belt and numerous cinch straps, the jacket fit can be tailored to fit individual tastes easily.

The armor is - I will assume, as I haven't road-tested it and don't want to - excellent, and it doesn't feel bulky or seem to get in the way as with my previous suit.

As I ride more, and get deeper into the fall and winter seasons, I'm sure I'll learn more about the Cayenne Pro jacket, and will try to add further information.

Lastly, and certainly not least, a shout out to the Revzilla customer service team. Getting to the point of having the Rev'It Cayenne Pro jacket and pants, and each in the perfect size, was a bit of a journey, and Matt and (especially!) Amanda were AWESOME!! Thanks, folks! I am a Revzilla customer for life!

Just picked up the Cayenne Pro and I will say it's everything it's been talked about in the video review. I was torn on sizing so hope this helps others. 6ft -150lbs and I went with the medium jacket, sizing is just right, I was on the fence with going with a large and glad I got the medium. Arms are long enough, even with base layer for cool days fit is no problem.

A great jacket
I wanted a jacket that provided airflow with good protection, and this jacket delivers. I live in the south and do a lot of riding in the summer and this jacket provides good airflow.
The protection is amazing. However, some people would probably consider the jacket heavy. But because the fit is so good, I have no problem wearing it all day.

I ordered a Large. I am 6' and 160lbs, 40" chest and 33" waist, semi athletic cut. This jacket fits me perfectly. It fits great across the shoulders and cuts down to a narrow waist. It is a very Euro cut, so larger guys beware.

The two cargo pockets on the front are very roomy as I can fit my wallet and phone easily in one pocket. There are several other pockets, but I have never used all of them.

The price is on the high side, but you get very good quality with this jacket. I have been wearing for a year now and it looks brand new.

Sidenote, I got the gray/blue jacket with the tan pants. It was a bit of a gamble mixing the colors but it looks very good and I'm happy I did it. I think the black and tan would look good too.

Great jacket for my needs.
Just what I've been waiting for -- a protective, higher-end mesh touring jacket. (I live in the southwest, and am in mesh about 9 months out of the year.) The features, and attention to small details, are very impressive.

It fit a size small for me -- I normally wear an XL in Rev'it, but needed the 2X in this.

I would have bought a hi-viz if available, but I really like the appearance of the sand color.

Great Jacket
Had this jacket for over a month now and I love it. Air flow is very good. I can ride in Houston under 95 degree weather and not feel the burden of having a jacket.
The downside is that as soon as temperatures cool off you better have some other layer below. In my case any temperature below 68 or so means I better have something other than a t-shirt underneath.

Only fault I can give it is that the neck strap is not adjustable and in my case remains a bit loose and rubs against my helmet.

Excellent summer protection
This is an excellent summer jacket. The sizing is consistent with all other Rev'it jackets that I own. The construction quality is good. The armor is solid and the airflow with the mesh is enough to keep me cool in the Atlanta heat. The only thing I don't like is the shoulder connection points for the neck brace. On my Defender Pro the all the connectors are plastic loops. On this jacket the connectors on the shoulders are the same cloth as the rest of the jacket so feeding in the straps took a little more effort, but that's a minor complaint. It's a fantastic jacket.

How does the hydration tube route? The production model does not have the little elastic loops like the one in the video.

This jacket takes a 2L water bladder? Thats what the video says (twice) but it looks like the Revit Hydrabag is only .5L. REVZILLA maestro, please clarify.

I leave for a 14 day motorcycle trip through Peru with Motoquest in 2 weeks and I'm looking to for an adventure jacket that will cover me for this trip and down the line. A few things about me and the trip.

Peru Trip:
Temperatures run from 40s to 80s with high and low elevation
Some rain could be expected
Riding a BMW 650GS
Mostly all Paved Roads

Me:
Live in LA, so the weather is usually always warm and dry
I plan on doing more adventure riding throughout the US (including Alaska) and Internationally
I already own a Rev'It Leather Jacket and the Gear 2 Leather Pants (so I think I might be set for pants for the trip).
I would ideally like to stay with Rev'It so all my jackets and pants will be compatable.
Looking for a good adventure jacket that I can wear all around the world and be comfortable with at home in LA,

I've sized up the Rev'It Cayenne Pro and loved it but am worried about rain protection with it and overheating in the over-jacket for the rain
I've also tried on the Sand 2 jacket, it feels a bit bulky and doesn't have the armor that the new Cayenne Pro has. Feel like it would get too hot at times.
Would be willing to look at other jackets all the way up to the Rev'it Defender Pro GTX
Thoughts or Opinions?
Matthew H on May 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hey Matt,

I have the Sand 2 jacket that I bought last year. I think it would be a better fit for your trip over the Cayenne Pro. The Sand 2 has worked well in keeping me dry in the rain during the spring time here in North Florida. The jacket has also kept me warm during some of the rides I did during our short winter the past year. While the jacket can feel bulky with the two inserted layers, I have enjoyed the jacket and I think it fits well with the climate and rains you'll be in.

The bad thing about the Sand 2 is that it can't handle the heat well at all here in Florida. I feel hot the entire ride once our weather gets above 90. That's why I'm in here looking at the Cayenne.
are you using a water bladder? if so, internal pocket or external back pack? if internal, which brand/size and how do you like it.
motech on May 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It appears that the production version of the Cayenne Pro has changed a bit from the prototype shown in the video. The prototype has loops on the jacket to hold the drinking tube. These were omitted on the production version. There is still a pocket on the back and a hook for hanging a bladder, but there is no apparent way to route the hose. In light of this, I just purchased a separate hydration system. I now use the Cayenne Pro's hydration pocket to take my cat along on my adventures. I just slip the cat into the pocket, attach the hook to her collar, and were off. The Cayenne Pro mesh back provides adequate ventilation for both me and my cat.
Why not get something like the GT-R Air? What is the benefit to getting this over a regular mesh jacket?
Greg S on Jan 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Greg, here are the main differences from my point of view.
Pockets: lots of pockets for any gear you like to carry on your person in the Cayenne. Not anywhere near as much on the GT-R.
Armor/Protection: the Cayenne has the GT-R beat hands down with the added 800 and 1000D slide areas vs the 500D on the GT-R. The cayenne also has CE2 armor vs the GT-R having just CE. I would expect the cayenne to take much more of a beating than the GTR and still be strong enough to wear again.
Airflow: i would give this to the GTR as it has more mesh.
Summary: you are getting a much more durable bomb proof jacjet in the cayenne while maybe sacrificing the airflow a bit. You also get a lot more storage in the cayenne along with hydration pouch. Pretty tough to compare they two as they are on different levels from my point of view. Maybe commute with the GTR and if you like some adventure riding and carry gear you want the cayenne. I would rather be wearing the cayenne in a get off scenario. Hope that helps from anothers perspective.
