Great pants
I don't normally write reviews, but I thought I'd throw my $0.02 in. I recently bought these pants for summer riding and to offer a bit more protection. I didn't think I'd test them out so fast. Went down in a corner, bike laid over on top of my leg and I slid down the asphalt with my leg pinned between the bike and the asphalt. The pants performed flawlessly. I hit both the hip armor and knee armor and I'm happy to say I have no bruising and the pants honestly don't look like they took much of a beating. A little scuffed up on the knee and hip and thats about it. I wasn't wearing real motorcycle boots and the pavement ate a hole through my boot and sock, so it was a pretty decent slide. I'll never be riding corners without pants again!

On to some other things. The one complaint I have (mentioned by others) is the leg zippers are pretty much worthless if you aren't wearing flip flops. There's no way you're getting the pants over your boots.

The pants breath, as there are decent mesh panels, but its still warm. I was riding this weekend in 95 degree swampy weather and I wasn't cool by any means, but with some shorts on under the pants it was bearable.

Overall, I'd buy these pants again in a second. Especially after proving their value in a crash!

Good fit and style, armor needs a bit of work
I got these pants because I wanted some mesh pants for summer that were not "overpants" and that did not look too baggy or weird when off the bike. These fit well and although there is one logo and somewhat of a mesh look, then can pass for normal if you don't look to closely. Certainly less baggy than most overpants.

The hip armor seemed a bit too thin for me. It is some kind of special stuff that is supposed to be thin, but still. I cut up a bit of an old yoga mat to supplement it -- put it between the supplied armor and my body. Does not add much thickness but seems it would be better to fall onto that if it happens.

Knee armor was also a problem after a long ride -- on the right side it pressed on my kneecap and caused a pain. Traded it out for some D30 knee armor ($35) that is thinner and more flexible.

So overall these are good pants but they may take some tweaking to get them the way you want.

BTW I am about 6' tall, 170 lbs, and the Medium size fits me well. I usually wear 33 waist, 32 length pants. First time around ordered the Large and they were too large -- although if I had wanted to use these as overpants then maybe the large would have been right.

Mixed emotions - good and bad
6'4'', 35 inseam, 34 waist. Thin-ish legs. Got the Large Tall.
Here are problems - at mid thigh if I flatten them they are 11 inches wide! It tapers only a little to 10 inches around the lower shin but stays fairly wide obviously to go over boots. This is where a lot of mesh is too, so high boots limit the usefulness of this bottom mesh panel but you'll get great flow there too if you have shorter boots.
The width in the pants means the knee is really floating around except when bent. I can pull the knee area around the side of my legs. I worry about if this knee armor is going to be on my knee when I land.
Hip protectors are super thin, maybe work, are supposed to be Ok CE1, but doesn't give you a lot of confidence, a hard hit is probably going to mess your hip up. I would probably add Dianese or Alpinestar armor shorts if you're worried.

Here are the pros - mesh on the upper thigh and around top section of pants flows a lot of air. They are comfortable to wear, no pinch behind the knee. The armor is nice and solid and protects down the shin a little. There is no stick out snap or metal to scratch your tank and the zips are high quality and covered by panels for good style. The bottom velcro adjustment remains tight around the boot. I've worn them in and out of boots. In the boots isn't ideal there is a lot of material to stuff in there.

I have to agree with a previous review. They are probably a way too baggy fit if you have thin legs and you are in the middle or lower end of the size range. In the video they don't ever show how floaty these pieces of armor are, do they??! The question is are the mediums any narrower in the leg even though you give up the length a little? Also if you go for the mediums are the knee armor pockets adjustable enough to sit correctly? I wish the pants and jacket would measure non standard areas of garments and provide a lot more dimensions to assess things especially when it comes to safety areas. I can't return these because I rode in them to find out about the mediums.

In the winter I'm going to have to custom tailor these to keep the armor much more snug to the leg.

Note the Dainese Air Drake Large Tall are in comparison a lot more snug like a pair of jeans fit, but a shorter length from the crotch to top of pant - really low on the hip, so may ride down your back. The Revit are nice and high on your back.

So I'm really mixed on the pants. They are high quality fabric, nice design, good flow, decent armor, but sizing may not be ideal for many.

FIRST!
Or: How I learned to stop researching and pull the trigger.

These pants are great. I was worried that at the price point, they'd be cheap feeling and I'd regret my purchase, but I am very impressed with these guys so far. My goal was to find some affordable pants that fit well, weren't gonna let me down if I went down, and that moved air. The last point was perhaps the most important, as the Atlanta heat and humidity during the summer months is legendary. After looking at the review video and checking my measurements with the fit guide, I ended up with a Large . I'm 6'2", ~180# with a 33" waist, 40" hip and 32" inseam, and the larges fit well. Loose in their most open setting, but the adjustment bands let me bring the waist way in, and I can rock them without too many layers on underneath. More importantly, they'll hang on my hips without suspenders holding them up. They'll be perfect when I need to layer up, and I can let that waistband out, easy peasy. Armor is just where it should be when I'm riding, and airflow is fantastic. I'll probably end up springing for the hip protectors, as the stock hip armor is fair-to-middlin'. That, and the low(er) zipper (as seen in the video) were my only critiques, but the zipper still makes it up to just below the knee, which is a whole lot better than trying to scrunch my jeans up when putting on boots, so I can't really complain. Thanks for the quick shipping 'Zilla!

Not an Over-Pant!
I bought these knowing the leg zippers did not extend past the knee. I took a chance that my boots would pass through, and I lost. So the moral of the story is, if you want over-pants, these are not what you want.
However, the build quality seems top notch, and they are really nice looking. I can't talk about air flow, or comfort, since mine were returned for another over-pant option(Rev'IT!Tornado).
These are definitely tailored towards the smaller frame person(European cut?). These were size XL: I am 6', 208lbs, with a lot of meat on my legs, so the thigh was tight, along with the crotch. Granted, I was wearing my work pants under since I wanted these as commuting over-pants, so they would have been much looser if worn as riding pants alone.
Bottom Line: Awesome product, that just did not meet my needs. Revzilla was a pleasure to deal with as usual.

Quality Summer Pants
Very happy with these pants. They will be my primary pants all year in Florida. Found them to be a tad on the cool side riding at 65 degrees. 75 to 85 degrees seemed perfect. We will see how they do from 85 to 95 as the year progresses. I wore shorts under them. Next time I ride below 75 degrees wearing these, I will wear long pants under them.

The only thing I would change about these pants is the zipper at the bottom. It serves no purpose. It does not open the pants enough to get them on and off without taking off your boots. I would either get rid of it or bring it high enough to serve a purpose.

Cool Snug Styling
I bought these for a summer trip in FL. When I ordered them using the Revzilla sizing chart I expected them to be about a half an inch small - they were about an inch too small. Fortunately I was about 6 lbs overweight so a quick diet fixed that problem, just to say, the sizing chart is dead-on and pretty unforgiving. The pants breath well, though nothing is really good enough for FL summer, plus I'm on a Kawi Concourse 14 which breaks a lot of wind in the legs. The knee pads are adjustable, but not much - the extreme low position does work for me. The zipper/velco boot flap is awesome! I do miss having larger pockets, but I really like the styling of the slick fit. I got the silver which is not really my style, but I need every edge I can get at 90+ degrees F.

Great summer pants
I wear a 30" or 31" waist normally, with a 31" inseam. The size small is snug, but fits, over athletic shorts and my work pants. Might keep the small for fun rides and pick up a size medium for commuting to work with a bit more room to spare.

Pants look great, and offer a ton of airflow. Feels very sturdy in all the right places, and match the Airwave 2 jacket perfectly. I highly recommend them for hot weather. I wouldn't wear them below 70 degrees F, but I also get cold easily. Probably tolerable down to 60.

Great Air Flow - Needs Better Hip Coverage
Nice pants - I'm keeping them - but they should have more hip bone protection (the tops of my hip bones are exposed). It does have good quality hip armor but it does not sit high enough for my body shape. I'm trying to come up with some sort of a solution to address this. I do like everything else about these summer pants. The pants do flow air extremely well, look stylish, and the knee armor sits correctly. I wear performance shorts only underneath.

Great pants, plenty of airflow for summer heat.
Pants fit great, Ive owned them for 3 months now while using them every time I ride. I can wear a pair of shorts under with no issues, at the same time I have the options to tighten the straps and use without shorts. they feel great in South Louisiana heat right about now. Only issue is the knee pads are not too comfortable when walking, and also the grips on the butt have torn, nothing a little fabric glue couldn't fix. I wear a 34-32, Ordered a size large regular and they fit great!

Are these pants intended as overpants or stand-alone?REV'IT! Airwave 2 Pants

hi , I´m a levi´s jenas size 31-32waist and a 32 length, Im confused, chart says I should be buying a small but then I take a measuring tape and measure around my waist and 38 inches is what it measures so it says I should buy a Large or XLarge. Please help what size should I buy? I fit perfectly in Levi´s 31-32 jeans.
Alejandro A on Jul 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am 5 foot 11 170 pounds . I buy 32 waist 34 length jeans . I bought a medium . They fit me almost perfect . I have the waste adjustment as tight as possible . I have 9000 miles on these pants and they have worked out great so far .
Is there a recommended upgrade for the hip pads in the Airwave 2 pants?
Marc Y on Jul 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If I had to upgrade the hip pads, I would find a thin piece of foam padding and place it between my leg and the existing pad.
Waterproof?
RONALD F on Jun 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The airwave 2 pants are not waterproof; they have large mesh panels throughout for air flow but no liner. They were designed for dry, warm-weather riding. Look into the Rev'it Sand 2 pants which offer a removable waterproof liner.
My waist is 35 and My inseam is 30" . Do you have this length ?
John C on Jun 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: John, I also have a 35 inch waist and a 30 inch inseam. I bought the Airwave 2 pants size medium and they fit well. The pants will need to be worn higher than you would wear blue jeans but motorcycle pants are supposed to be worn higher on the waist. What I might suggest is going with the large size pants but the short variety. This will give you more options in tightening the waist but the length wont be too long for your inseam. I hope this helps.
Is the silve a uniform light silver (as the video and picture appear to show) or are the mesh panels a darker gray color?

Can they be connected to a Rev'It jacket?

How would you classify the fit of the legs? I see the description reads "regular fit". needs a bit more accurate description in my way of thinking. In your opinion... loose, relaxed, baggy or more of a trim fit on the legs?
Knotzo on Jun 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would probably say relaxed. They are not tight like track pants, but are not as loose as overprints would be. It would be kind of difficult getting them on over a pair of jeans. They may do okay over shorts. Honestly I returned the pants and got the tornado 2. They Tornado 2 fit a bit looser and have a liner you can remove. I would say they tornado pants have as much airflow, a lot more protection, and the ability to have the liner if needed.
Hello, fellow riders, are the Airwave 2 pants any good for off-road riding?

BEST ANSWER: They don't have the flexible panels I would like for highly active off road riding. That said, if you spend most of the time on the bike and not paddling around or walking up a creek bed, they should be OK if they fit.

They do breath a lot of air, and can confirm the bottom fits over my Sidi Crossfire boots, although it's unlikely you'll be able to put the pants on with the boots already on.
