2016 KTM 1290 Super Adventure
Bought this looking for something with a little more wind protection than the stock screen, and something that you could see through without distortion. In this respect the product delivered what I was looking for. Note that it is a very tall screen on the KTM and even in the lowest position on the 1290 SA, a 6 foot rider has the upper line of the screen right across their field of view. It may be my own personal preference, but I like my windscreen adjusted so that I can see over it in the lowest position and through it in the highest. Being able to look over rather than through comes in handy after a million bugs have splattered themselves on the screen.

The problem with not being able to set the screen so you can see over it is compounded by the way this product is mounted on the 1290 SA. When you remove the stock windshield, you are provided with four "stand-off" studs that mount in the stock screw holes. These move the screen out about 3/4" further forward than the stock screen. This creates a gap between the short, smoked plastic screen that cuts down reflection from the headlight assembly. The increased spacing allows a LOT of light to come up from the headlight and reflect back toward the rider on the inside of the new screen. Again, my own preference, but I find this very distracting. The screen also "pipes" a lot of this light up to the top of the screen and illuminates the upper line of the screen, which as I said, is right across my field of view in the lowest position. This is probably only a problem for my particular model of bike so if you own something else then my comments may not apply.

The fit and finish of the screen seems very good and I'm going to try to find something to place at the bottom of the screen between the inside of the new screen and the smoked, plastic internal shield I mentioned. Hopefully this will cut down on the strong reflections but is not likely to fix the "light-piping" up to the upper lip of the shield.

Works well & looks good
I like the looks of the standard windscreen on the 1190 Adventure, but I'm tall enough that my head is right in the wind blast, which makes for a lot of noise inside my helmet, as well as giving limited protection against bugs, rain, etc. The Puig touring windscreen mimics the design of the KTM product, but is enough taller that it gives more protection and less noise. It's a snap to install with the supplied fittings and instructions. I've only had it for a week but it looks durable, though not as thick as the stock screen. I'm looking forward to trying it on an extended trip later this spring.

Overall a good product.
Windscreen made it comfortable to ride with visor up. Will likely leave it on the bike for all road rides. I have the R model and with the spacers provided the windscreen did rub the plastic on one side and had minimal clearance on the other, after adding extra spacers and some protective clear tape it was good to go. If screen is in the upper position it clears the plastic easily but you'd have to look through it unless you are very tall.

Easy to mount, nice improvement
Less turbulence than the OEM screen. Good protection when raised just a bit. Good value for the cost.

More buffeting with the PUIG then the stock windscreen. I'm 5' 9" and raised it all the way up without improvement. Wasn't for me.

Things to Think About!!
The screen is great and does it's job. I gave it 1's so you would read this. Yes, it blocks a significant amount of wind. To the point that I no longer have bugs on my face shield. However, it feels, that it has increased turbulence around the screen, into the mirrors, and the entire bike is more susceptible to wind and semi's. Get a clear screen. I have the smoke one, I'm 5' 10" and I could not see through it in the seated position on dirt. The freeway gets obstructed as well when the screen accumulates bugs. Rain, well rain was downright ass clenching. Last thing, Lower the shield on dirt. If you're taller you might be able to see over it, but I was riding standing up, climbing a hill, I hit a whoop in the back, bumping me forward. The top of the screen tapped me in the face. If you aren't aware of it, I could see someone breaking their nose.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but in clear. Save the OEM shield. You can put that one on for extended dirt trips.
