Puig R12 Frame Sliders Suzuki SV650 / SV650S

The Puig R12 Frame Sliders were designed to fit in between the width of a motorcycles stock handlebars and foot pegs. In the event of a crash, this design allows the stock footpegs to fold up and the handlebars and controls to stay off the ground. This sweet spot allows the nylon slider to take the majority of the damage. These mid-length frame sliders also have less of a tendency to catch on uneven surfaces, unlike long frame sliders that can cause the motorcycle to flip through the air.

Puig not only designed these frame sliders to protect the motorcycle, but the rider too. All Puig R12 Frame Sliders feature a rubber bumper cap to avoid knee and shin injuries from impact in the event of a crash.

  • Protects engine and frame

Good Product for my SV650s, needed slight modification
Very sturdy frame sliders, seem well-made.
The package comes with the required bolts and an extra set of the rubber end caps.
I have a 2004 Suzuki SV650s, and it is clear that these were not made specifically for my bike, they worked well after some slight modification.
First off, the aluminum adapters between the frame and the actual plastic slider are sized differently for the right/left of the bike (as you can see in the photo below).
After the modification, I am pleased with the results and I hope I never have to use them!
As for the price point, there is nothing inherently expensive about these to manufacture (just aluminum, delrin, and a rubber pad) so I’m not quite sure why they are this expensive. They are certainly unique and seem well made - but if they were even slightly more expensive, I would have picked a different product.
The pictures show the two sides of the bike with the sliders installed, the modification, and the difference between left and right adapters.
Would definitely recommend to a friend who wasn’t strapped for cash.

On the bike frame, there is a removable aluminum sleeve that the stock bolt slides through to the engine. It is clear that the adapters were meant to replace these sleeves so that the larger diameter of the adapter sits flush with the outside of the frame. On my bike however, the adapter's replacement sleeve was not wide enough, so I needed to keep the stock sleeve in and allow the replacement sleeve portion of the adapter to sit flush with the outside of the frame.
On the right side, this worked well because it lined up the larger part with an adjacent bit of frame and actually looked pretty good. On the left however, it stuck waayyy out from the frame and looked fairly strange. So I fired up my bandsaw and cut the replacement sleeve portion down so that it lined up with the adjacent frame bit, just like the other side.
