Love these!
After researching like 10 different braces my gut instinct told me to get the PODS. I am not disappointed. I am missing both ACL's as a result of motocross racing in my 40's. I decided then, at my age (now 60) that I didn't want to waste a year of riding by getting surgeries and then the rehab after. So I have been wearing braces to make up for that. I had custom fitted Carbon Fiber CTI's at $1200 each back many years ago and they were good for the time. But technology has come a ways since then. I decided on some cheaper EVS's (can't remember the model #) and although they protected me from hyper-extending they were bulky and ripped every pair of pants I had. I also despised the snap connectors. Poorly placed so they were hard to work and I cut myself more than once trying to get the d*mn things off after riding. I tossed those in the garbage. So I got the POD's because they come with some pretty strong endorsements from guys like Trey Canard and I like that these are designed to be used for activities other than riding off road. I mountain bike, hike, and ATV. These braces are so comfortable it almost feels like you aren't wearing them. (I'm not kidding) They slide right into my MX pants and don't grab the liner. Simple Velcro fastening means no more ripped fingers. (However I see these wearing out in time and will need to get replacements). I got the K4's because I saw only a 20 gram weight difference to the K8 Carbon brace, and other than that they are identical in function. I think the gray looks better anyway.
I am truly happy with my POD's and can't say enough good things about them.

Glad to have them, hope I won't need to use them
As in I hope I never have a crash that I get to find out how much these might do for me. But like any safety gear, you wear it in case, because you never know when you might need it.

Took me a couple tries to find the right size, thanks to Revzilla for being the great company they are and Taylor for all her help in ordering replacements and helping take care of sending back the ones that didn't fit.

Being my first set of braces, I didn't know what to expect size wise, so started with Md/Lg, only to find that my short thick legs barely fit between the hinges and my thigh was a larger diameter than the pre-curved area was designed for. As a point of reference, I am 5'4", with a 28" inseam and the width of my knee area is about 5 3/4" and my thigh circumference is about 24" at the point where both braces strap around my thigh.

Ended up ordering the XL/2XL and they were much better in terms of strap length, knee width and fortunately, they both still allowed me to (barely) close the velcro on my Sidi Adventure Gore Tex 2 boots: thank goodness they added those extra stretch panels in the calf area! The other key thing to note here for anyone else on the fence of whether they want to size up or not is that the height of the XL/2XL is the exact same as the MD/LG, so no worries about a bigger size being too tall, which I was worried about being on the shorter side.

In addition to the side to side support that braces provide, I also got a good sense of twisting protection, which I think it very important also.

I do have bow legs and I do get some additional pressure on the inside of my shin where the bottom strap goes, but it's not bad and I suspect once I'm riding and not walking around my living room, I may not even notice.

One last note, I was wearing an older pair of Klim Latitude pants and I ended up ordering the Klim Carlsbad pants as the Latitude pants were unbearably tight with the braces on.
