Pod/Fox scores with this knee brace!
I had both my ACL's repaired a long time ago and recently I've been thinking I might benefit from some additional knee support during off-road riding. I had custom Donjoy braces made for me in the mid-nineties, but they don't exactly fit anymore. So instead of dealing with getting new custom braces, I thought I would buy some off-the-shelf units. I bought these and a pair of closely priced (moderately less expensive) competitors units. These are far and away the superior braces.

These braces are well made and might actually help brace the knee in a high impact scenario. They offer substantial support against varus, valgus, rotational torsion and hyperextension. In contrast, the similarly priced competitors units offer minimal support and are easily twisted and deformed with very little effort.

Pod/Fox offers 4 sizes of the brace which helps increase the likelihood of achieving a good fit - which is essential to giving the brace the best chance of actually doing something in an impact situation!

On the downside, the knee cap protection is probably less than it could be. It's attached to the frame and sort of floats in space, with open exposed areas above and below the knee cap. I haven't crashed in them yet - I'm curious to know if the knee cup stays where it's supposed to.

These braces aren't cheap, but they are well-made and offer loads of support compared to some of the competition. I believe there is a decent chance they can prevent or lessen injury, and I highly recommend.

Hello, I have tried them on my question is: can the molded frame be adjusted and tweaked a little and how do you do it? Heat Gun and would it keep the new shape? Thanks, Stan, Oregon.
A shopper on Sep 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Nop. The frame is made out of fiber glass and metal. No way to mold it.
It's normal for the frame to be quite loose on the sides, because that's not the way it protects your knees. If it were tight, it will probably hurt your muscle when riding.
I've used them for a year and they have save my kneed several times from strong impacts and lateral stresses, despite the fit quite loose on the sides.
I'm interested in the Fox K300 knee braces. Do you have a sizing chart for them somewhere? I'm not finding one. Thanks!
A shopper on Jan 5, 2012
BEST ANSWER: You will need to measure the width of your knee just below the knee cap. Small :10 - 10.8cm / Medium:10.8-11.4cm / Large:11.4-12cm / XL:12-12.7 / XXL:12.7-13.4

*This is made by POD and they suggest finding a local retailer that has the POD Measuring Tool to ensure an accurate fit.
