Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V2 Tire

Original Equipment on the Ducati Panigale, the new SP Version 2 Diablo Supercorsa features the same tread design used in the 2012 World Superstock 1000 championship. High modulus fiber carcass offers a lower deformation ratio and makes the entire structure stiffer to allow a better synergy between compounds and tire carcass. Single Element Tread Pattern permits a 24% larger slick shoulder area (vs. previous Diablo Supercorsa), increasing contact area and grip and wear regularity. New compounds offer great balance of mileage and grip in an ultra-high-performance product. Rear tire uses Pirelli's patented EPT (enhanced patch technology) matched with a tri-zone compound that helps optimize the contact patch for improved grip and handling.

Features:

  • Single Groove Technology greatly improves wear
  • Bi-Compound rear tire with slick shoulder for racing-like performance
  • WSBK derived materials and structure for increased agility and intuitive handling
  • Innovating and exclusive Pirelli-patented high-modulus carcass Lyocel fiber
  • Tire profile features variable geometry from the center to the shoulders for an increase in contact patch and quicker entry into turns
  • Tire carcass has variable density from center to the shoulders to provide maximum linearity and stability through turns and to maintain optimal trajectory
  • TL (tubeless)
  • (W)-rated for speeds of 168+ MPH
  • 120/70-17 and 200/55-17 is OE for Ducati 1199 Panigale

Better know what you're getting
As long as you understand that what you are getting in a dry weather ONLY, track/street tire you won't be disappointed. It provides both fantastic grip and feel at full lean angle, especially from the rear tire. I like my front tire to have a little less flex in the sidewall but that is a personal preference because the tire had fantastic edge grip and bite. Now if you're on the street and it rains.....life is going to suck for a while. The tire is basically as close as you can get to a slick while still being street legal. There is 0 wet weather traction and the rear end will wiggle a lot under you searching for traction in the rain.

Excellent high performance tire
I decided to purchase the new V2 set this summer. After all, I had to replace my old V1 (front & rear tire). The Diablo Supercorsa SP/SC tires have always been on top when it comes to performance but I've experienced some issues regarding tread life. The V1 would wear pretty quickly, especially after cornering at high speed. Pirelli said the V2 would improve on durability as well as offer greater grip capabilities.

Now my opinion. Well, I can definitely say Pirelli improved the new version.
It offers way better grip and feedback. It feels like your completely glued to the pavement, especially after they've warmed up a bit. They also stick very well on colder pavement during night-time. Don't even think about going out with these when it rains because they offer zero grip in the wet. I learned that the hard way.

The tread life has improved but not dramatically. I did some high-speed runs and I could already see some tear offs, but they still wear less and hold together better than the previous V1 model. Overall, I would highly recommend the V2 to anyone looking for great performance tires.

Great Track Rubber
1st, this is on my Triumph Daytona 675R 14' (standard tire)

This tire is amazing on dry surface, the grip is great.
It truly gives you confidence on leans. Warms up very very quickly. Leans perfectly.

I DO NOT recommend this tire for those who want to commute on them. The reason is that these are not cost effective tires for a commute. They are not made for rain, the grooves do not give you the safety level required to ride on rain.

Look into the "Rossa Corsa" tire if you want to save 100 USD on the set, + adding 500-1000 extra miles + better rain grip. You will just lose on tight tight learn turns, and fast sticky feel.

Excellent tire from an excellent website
Not only is the tire great, Eric at Revzilla matched a lower price I found on another website (by almost 40$). Still got the tire shipped free as well and had ZERO hassle to boot. Couldn't be happier. Wish more businesses ran their companies like Revzilla!

$244 at Motorcycle Superstore
I have been buying almost everything exclusively from Revzilla but, when my Ducati 1199 showed cords on the rear tire I found it with free 2-day shipping and for $244 as opposed to Revzilla's $292! Same Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V2 but $48 less at Motorcycle Superstore! Phuk me! It really DOES still pay to shop around... Don't worry Revzilla, I still luv ya!

As expected
Who ever buys this tire probably know what they are getting, Superbike grip, wears extremely quick and not good in wet. Just keep an eye on tire pressure or you have buy a new tire very quickly.

Definitely recommend these tires to anyone on any bike!
I bought a set of these SP V2 for my bike and I know they say you should scrub in your tires first before going hard on them but these tires felt so great that I had confidence in ripping them around corners without any second thoughts! Heated up fast just the way I like them!

Best high performance road tire
For aggressive riding on the road and the track this is simply the best tire you can buy. I can't say band for you buck is great considering the Dunlop Q3 is over 100 dollars cheaper and as good as this tire is it's not 100 bucks better than anything. With that being said, for aggressive riding there just isn't a more confidence inspiring tire on the market, the grip is out of this world in dry conditions. Wet traction.. well just hope you don't get caught in the rain, tread life is decent it just depends on our hard you ride and how aggressive you are on the throttle. Overall I love this tire and can't say enough about it.

Great Track Day Tire
I run this on my 2012 Triumph Daytona 675r and the traction is excellent. Telemetry shows lean angles over 50 degrees and these things hold firm. Once you find a tire you trust you stick with it. This will be my go to until I invest in tire warmers and start running slicks.

Awesome tire
I've already put 1500 miles on these bad boys and they still look new with lots of thread, I've also driven in harsh rain with these tires and no problem getting around to my destination, I did have to put my 1199 ducati in wet mode because in sport mode it was slipping but as soon as I put it in wet mode it gripped the watery roads nicely. It's a good tire and they also warm up very quickly as well IG:cchav8z
