Much better than stock.
the seat came packaged very nice(lots of bubble wrap in the box) and made it to me safely. It fit perfect on the bike, my only problem with the install was my factory luggage rack with the sissy bar. the back of the passenger pad is right up against the mounting bolts for the sissy bar. it will all fit on there just takes an extra hand when putting the luggage rack back on to you can get the pad pulled out of the way.

Once the seat was on I took a test ride, the riding position was much more comfortable for me, it feels like you sit a bit further back and more upright. the height of the passenger pad almost creates a small backrest for the driver. Now the seat if quite firm and from what I have read about mustang seats, this is something that will be broken in and is just a matter of putting miles in.

Overall i am excited to have a better seat than stock and cant wait till it is fully broken in. I would definitely recommend this seat for anyone looking for a more supportive ride on the Street series.

Very nice seat
I purchased this seat to be more comfortable on longer rides. The stock seat had me sitting to close the the fuel tank but the Mustang seems to have pushed me back a couple of inches and allows me to sit a bit more upright.
I did have a little bit of a problem putting the luggage rack and sissy bar back on but with an extra hand to move the pad it went back on.

I really like the seat and it is a lot more comfortable than the stock one.

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Probably.
Imagine a 2x4, and you're sitting on it "the long way", straddling it like a horse, and your commute is an hour or so, laesplitting included.

Now turn that 2x4 sideways, and sit on it like a swing. MUCH BETTER.

$341.00 better? Eeeehhhh.... sure. I hated both the stock and Cafe Solo seats I had on my Street 500. One wrong 'shift' and I'd be sitting on my nuts. This seat has helped tremendously.

...that said, it's still pretty stiff. I hope it breaks in, but even being stiff as a board, at least by turning that board 90 degrees it has made a huge difference.

I see zero reason to go with the seat back option, as I'm leaning forward a bit to grab aftermarket 'straight' handlebars in my case. The seat also feels very high quality to the touch, but on my butt it's a bit stiff.

5'10" / 205 lbs

7 out of 10, would buy again... the stock seat is just that bad.

Perfect Seat!
The seat came nicely packed. Fixing was easy. Looks better than stock seat and give the bike a new authentic look. Seating position is quiet comfortable and has a depth to it. Worth every penny.

What A Difference!
This seat not only is way more comfortable than the stock seat but also adds a different look to the bike. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has a Harley XG model.

(somewhat) Better than the stock seat
I have to echo ixobelle's review. I just got this seat, and put 180 miles on it in a day.

Better than stock? Yes. The stock seat just flat-out hurt after about an hour; I did three hours today with no actual pain, so yes it's better.

But it isn't perfect. It definitely pushes you significantly forward on the bike. I used to sit back pretty far on the stock seat, I feel like the Mustang has pushed me way forward, like 3" or 4" forward towards the tank. I'm not a tall guy but if you were 6 foot tall or more, I'd think you'd be pretty cramped on this seat.

The seat is a lot wider than stock, so there's more room for your rump. It feels like it's probably about as firm as the stock seat, but you're spreading your weight around more surface area so there's less pressure per square inch, and therefore it hurts less. I wouldn't call it overly comfortable, just - better than stock. "Good enough" but nobody would describe it as "plush".

The passenger section looks way better than stock -- it's much taller, thicker, wider, and - yes, plusher. And that's why I bought this seat -- my wife said she wants to go riding with me, so I wanted her to have a better experience than the stock seat has. And for that alone, it's probably worth it.

The seat seems to sit higher, and it's wider in the front, so if you have short legs you may have trouble flat-footing at a stop. I used to easily be able to flat-foot and even stand a little off the seat on the stock, but with this wide taller seat I can't get both feet securely flat on the ground anymore.

I used to move around more on the stock seat, but the shaped back portion locks you into one position. I don't know that I prefer that.

As for aesthetics, I think it looks great. I wasn't sold on the looks from looking at the pictures online, but when you see it in person, I think it looks nice and makes the bike look way better than stock.

So, overall -- it's an upgrade from stock, definitely. Is it seat nirvana? Not by a mile. I wish the sculpted back of it was 3" or 4" further back, giving the driver more room. For $350 you'd think you should be getting the one seat to rule them all, but it kind of isn't. It's definitely better than the stock seat, that's for sure. But I don't know that I'd want to do a 500-mile day on this, and I wish it didn't make me feel more cramped on the bike. It does seem like it'll be a big upgrade for the passenger, and for that reason alone I'm keeping it and not sending it back. But for a solo rider, I'm not entirely sure it's worth $350.
