Moto-Skiveez Adventure Skiveez Riding Shorts

Developed for the rider with feet positioned directly below seat contact. Optimized to reduce chafing with repeated rising to stand on the pegs. This design is engineered for both modern dual sport bikes as well as dirt bikes.

The Moto-Skiveez pad for the adventure riding style is the most complex of all Moto-Skiveez designs. It is comprised of a base malinga cloth, three different types of foam, and a silver ion infused covering. This pad is engineered to provide comfort and functionality for a multitude of riding styles. This pad is designed for the rider to move from seating to standing and shift from forward to rearward on the seat. The padding in the seating area of this design has multiple densities formed with both concave and convex elliptical curves. This feature provides added comfort as the rider moves forward and back.

One of its primary functions is to provide comfort for long hours adventure-touring, testing the abilities of the modern dual sport motorcycle to corner at high lean angles as well as ride off road. Additionally this design features two padded extensions positioned on the inner thigh of each leg. These extensions have vertical padded ribs with ventilation openings. This is to counteract friction and chafing from repeated standing and seating experienced by aggressive off road riding.

Features:

  • Surface fabric infused with silver ions for permanent antimicrobial, antibacterial treatment
  • 4mm square perforated foam throughout
  • 6mm memory foam main body
  • 3mm perforated memory foam in legs
  • Both convex and concave corrugations with vertical ribs impede irritation

Balzac Squeeze Syndrome relief?
I've taken two fairly short (100 miles or so each) rides with these new Skiveez and I think they are going to do well for me. I don't have a problem with butt burn, but in Florida 90/90 (degrees/humidity) you don't have to ride far before the ballroom gets overcrowded and swamp crotch ensues. These have a nice roomy budgie smuggler pouch that seems to keep all the dancers from banging into the walls - and getting tangled in jean seams, etc. We'll see how they do on a longer 200-300 mile summer run soon. I've tried everything from compression shorts (big squeeze), bare naked boxers from DT (no pinch -bull; no stink, maybe), vented textile riding pants (like wearing a sheet of plastic with holes in it), heat out riding shorts (fair - but still the big squeeze). So far these Moto Skiveez are the best all-around solution I've found.

These shorts are amazing! Worth the $$$
I ride a BMW GS and after about 1.5 hours in the seat my boney butt would start to get uncomfortable. I had seen ads for these but was skeptical. I bought a pair before a recent 6 days 1500 mile ride. Not once did I feel the uncomfortable feeling in my rear. I am a believer. I'll definitely be getting another pair of these.

Ride Longer in Comfort!
I have 2 rides on my new Moto Skiveez and its the first time that I am not squirming around on my R1200GSWC after an hour of straight riding. The elastic keeps my sack from getting crunched up against my tank and the extra padding in the bum keeps it from getting too soar and numb. Awesome addition to my riding gear!

Significant Improvement in Comfort - Ordering Another Pair
Whether or not these improve the comfort of your ride is going to depend on you and your seat. I have a 2016 K1600GTL that I thought I was going to have to replace the seat on. Most motorcycle seats are too soft for me. I do long distance bicycle riding and my seats are thin, firm, and have either nothing in the center or a deep relief channel and are designed so that you sit on your "sit bones" (ishial tuberosity), which keeps pressure off of your perineum. Only a few aftermarket motorcycle seats are designed like this.

I don't have much padding on my rear and on soft motorcycle seats I sink in and it puts a lot of pressure in the perineal area, which can become quite painful within an hour or so. This underwear has thin pads on each side with no padding in the very center, which reduces pressure in the center. When you stand they feel like cycling shorts, which I am used to. When you are sitting you won't know they are on. Ordering another pair tomorrow. Wearing these I can go at least two hours with no discomfort. The GTL is a sport touring bike and the sitting position is more like an adventure bike so these were the best choice of the three models available. I have several pair of bicycle shorts. They are designed differently and would not provide the same benefit.

Literally saved my A** on a 9300 mile trip!
Last summer I took a 9300 mile trip over the course of 31 days which involved several 500+ mile days and at one point, 1000 miles in 24 hours (DC to Arkansas).

I bought the moto-Skiveez on a recommendation from a friend and they really increased my comfort. They helped out a lot with the "hot spots" you get after a few hours on the road, and also handled heat and sweat much better than anything I've tried before.

They were less... restrictive than bicycle shorts, and at half the price of a decent pair of bicycle shorts, they're well worth the price!

12hr+ rides not a problem anymore
After roughly 5000 miles using Moto-Skiveez, both my wife and I are sold on the product, and will not ride without unless it is a short hop somewhere close by. They work as advertised, I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Positives:
+ Do their job and improve riding comfort / extend riding time. 12hr+ rides are not a problem
+ Help reduce sense of heat coming up from engine
+ Fit comfortably, but tight enough as to not slide around
+ You completely forget about them after they are worn-in

Negatives:
- Pricey, but you get what you pay for
- Feel a little odd until worn in, so have patience
- Only fully effective when worn directly on skin. You lose ventilation benefit if you wear something under

These are the ones
I have tried 3 different padded riding underwear over the last year or so to help improve comfort on all day rides both on and off road. These adventure style are the best so far. The padding never feels obtrusive and the difference in comfort compared to without them is quite noticeable .

I put in long riding days and have heard this product is excellent to prevent fatigue and other 'long days in the saddle' related issues. If it works as well as advertised, it'll save me money for a custom seat.

something for long rides to protect my behind. my gripe: feel like they are falling down all the time. gotta hike em up
Griff on Mar 24, 2017
Have used bicycle shorts for years but it is harder to find a 3XL and these have much more pad coverage.
The waistband curls up too easy.
The legs are shorter than bicycle shorts but they did not ride up and the leg hole size was right-not too tight or loose.
They were a definite improvement on both off and on road rides.
Steve H on Mar 19, 2017
Very well rated. And looking for comfort.

Are these designed as base underwear? I assume so since they wick moisture
A C on Sep 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Very much like high-end bicycle riding shorts with a chamois. They are comfortable and not bulky under riding gear. They have three different styles depending on your riding position.
How would this work with a base layer pant? I wear the Rukka Outlast- would the Moto-Skiveez go underneath? I'm assuming they would but I'm concerned about having to stretch the base layer over the top of it.
A shopper on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Can't say for sure as I don't wear a base layer pant. However, the padded area of the Skiveez is only about 1/4 inch thick. I've worn them on several 6 hour plus rides and they have made a noticeable improvement in my comfort.
Does anti-microbial mean you can wear them more than once before washing? Do these dry quick if you wash them in a sink on the road?
Isaac L on Mar 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, also helps to eliminate odor. They wii quick dry too, but first roll team in a towel and squeeze them to remove as much water as possible from the cushioning pads. I,ve worn them slightly damp, but once you,re back on the bike you won't notice and it has cooling effect.
If i'm a 38 waist and they run small should I get the next size up?
A shopper on Jun 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wear a waist 35 and ended up with the medium easily fitting so for me they run large.
Do these shorts fit tight like compression pants or are they a looser fit? Thank you!
James Z on Sep 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Similar but not quite as tight. I bought one pair, was pleased and bought another. I wear underwear under them and they work great!
Which version do I purchase if I'm riding a sport touring bike such as a VFR800?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would go with the Sport. It has a little more padding towards the front of the shorts. The Sport will work for adventure riding, but the Adventure only works so-so for your style bike.
