What's this?

LS2 FF325 Strobe Civik Helmet

This is a helmet designed by riders for riders. The full-metal latch system operates smoothly and offers a super secure closure for safety. It opens with a single button that is easy to find and easy to use, even with a heavy winter glove. The chin bar has a secure detent at the full open position, so it stays in place when it is up.

This modular motorcycle helmet has LS2’s Twin Shield System sun shield, so you get the sun protection you want, and can quickly get more light when entering a tunnel or darker area. The Strobe uses a slide and cable technology to engage the sun shield smoothly, offering ease of use and less wind noise. The face shield is optically correct, scratch resistant and has LS2’s ShortShift Tool-less Quick Release, making it easy to change whenever you need and the breathable fabric liner wicks moisture, and the 3D laser cut foam liner and cheek pads are removable and washable. The LS2 Strobe is so comfortable, you’ll forget you have it on.

Fit:

  • Narrow internal shape, comparatively less width from ear to ear than other helmets but offers more forehead room

Features:

  • HPTT (High Pressure Thermoplastic Technology) shell
  • 2 shell sizes
  • Channeled EPS
  • FFS Fog Fighter System 3D optically correct face shield with Quick Release System
  • Inner drop down sun shield
  • Removable and washable comfort liner
  • Removable chin curtain
  • Breath deflector
  • Top and chin vents with exhaust port in back
  • Quick release metal security plate reinforced strap
  • Cheek pads with laser cut foam
  • Neck roll
  • ECE 22.05 certified

Note: Because the neck roll is integrated into the helmet shell, we recommend not using a communication device that uses a clamp mount.

Best for the money!
This helmet being so reasonably priced you would expect less but I have to say I am impressed! Lightweight, and has every conceivable feature one could want in a modern modular helmet. Can't say much about protection and durability as I have not had it long enough. Fits nice, quieter than my normal full face, easy to operate, looks good. Ratchet strap was an added bonus. Can't live without the sun visor. I would easily recommend this helmet to anyone!

Good winter helmet
There is limited air flow for this helmet. Only has a top intake vent and a chin intake vent. Supposedly the air exits at the back base of the helmet at the lining. There are no exit vents. Did not realize that when I bought this helmet. However, it does make it a good winter helmet. Air flow is minimal with vents closed and is ok for fall and spring with vents open and your helmet in full air flow.

The chin bar is close to the chin so that the chin protector touches where I latch the helmet straps. I sometimes find I have to reach up with finger and pull the chin protector down over my chin due to it being stuck. This usually happens when I put helmet on while face mask is closed. For this helmet is is easier to take it off and put it on with the helmet in open position.

The sun shade distorts vision a bit and does not have any detents at the open or closed position, so it slides freely back and forth, or, up and down for the shield itself.

Padding is good. However I have found that the helmet is a little short for me. I find my ear lobes feeling pinched between the padding and my head. The helmet seems to be higher than I expect. I find myself pushing down on the top of the helmet to make my ears fit within the ear hole.

First ride was in cold weather and it fogged up tremendously even with the chin and breath guard in. Fortunately I had purchased the PenLock visor attachment. Putting that on made a world of a difference, but tends to disrupt viewing. Now I have multiple lines crossing my field of vision.

Color is good. I bought the white in order to be seen and reduce summer temps on my head.

I like the quick release helmet chin strap system. easy to snap in and out. Have not checked in to whether that makes it easier to release during a crash. I find I do have to latch it together in order to carry the helmet as the chin guard easily comes off.

Amazing helmet at this price.
I love this helmet it's an exact fit with comfortable padding. The visor and modular both open easily and no difficulty finding the release button. The flip down sun shades are a nice touch but the slide along the bottom of the helmet let's a lot of wind in as turbulence and is very loud at 50 plus mph. I love the finish of the shell and it's a nice hi visibility design without the tacky neon colors. All in all I'd rate this helmet at about a 3.8 out of 5. Once LS2 fixes the issue of wind noise they will have a champion design.

Great helmet at a great price
This is my first full face type helmet. I am not a fan of the enclosed face so I decided to go with a modular to alleviate some the enclosed feeling. My head shape is long oval. I have alwyas had trouble finding helmets that don't create pressure on my forehead. If that is you too, try this helmet out. I have worn it on several rides and it is very comfortable. I don't feel the need to take it off immediately.
Airflow is ok at highway speeds. Could use a bit more at lower speeds. Exhaust vents in the back would probably help.
Helmet feels solid and secure. I love the ratchet strap system!
If you're a long oval head shape looking for a modular helmet, you won't be disappointed in this one. I am sure there are some that are much better. But I doubt they are at this price point.

Good helmet; great deal on closeout
First up, you can't beat $135 for a good modular helmet. My experience with the helmet is that it runs slightly small, and not as long oval as an Arai Signet. More intermediate like a Shoei. It's fine for short trips, but even my 30 minute commute creates forehead hot spots. Is nice for winter commuting, as it doesn't have very good venting; also with the flipdown visor, it makes it easy to deal with short winter days. Sunrising on the way to work, and sunsetting on the way home. Beats trying to put on or take off sunglasses at stoplights.
I don't think this helmet will be very good in the steamy Florida summers with the lack of rear vents.
Also, this helmet is pretty light for a modular. If not for the hotspot, I would think it would be fine for longer distance touring. That said, I would recommend ear plugs, as it is loud at speed.
Overall, I can look past some of the minor issues, for a $135 modular. I would recommend if you are looking for a second or third helmet, and want a modular. Cheers!

Good Starter Helmet
You should know this first: This is my first motorcycle helmet ever. I have never worn anything else.

I like this helmet and I picked it for very specific reasons. I wanted the modular style with the chin bar that moves out of the way, the face shield opens, it has the inner sun shield, it matches my jacket and wouldn't break the bank right out of the gate. It has/does all of those things and fits my head well, so I am happy with it. I've used it exclusively for 4 months and have rode over 3,200 miles with it.

All helmet miles on a '16 KTM Duke 390.

Negative/Critical Issues

- At low speeds it is not terribly noisy. At high speeds it's incredibly loud. Loud enough you need ear plugs. Listening to music with this helmet is almost impossible. Even with ear buds at a max of 3/4ths volume I can barely hear it on the highway due to the wind noise.
- The air flow vent on the top of the helmet whistles obnoxiously. I have mine closed at all times.
- The chin pad is attached to the chin bar release button and does not stay put. In colder weather I want the pad there and I have to re-attach it to the button after every time I press the button for the chin bar.
- The front nose vents basically do not work when you have the breath guard installed. The breath guard fits into the same holes where the air is supposed to come through. Lol, such a stupid design. You'd think that was obvious!
- Due to the lack of venting from the aforementioned issues, it's extremely easy to fog the visor in cold weather. I also wear glasses which becomes a huge problem. To combat this issue I can remove the chin pad and get enough air, but that only works on warm days. In the cold, I had to stick bobby pins into the chin bar which hold the clear shield open just a touch to allow air in. At a stop I have to open the clear shield one notch.
- I find the clear shield difficult to open with one hand. With my summer gloves it's not too bad, but it's a total pain with my bulky winter gloves.

Positive Notes

- This helmet does not leak in the rain. I've ridden in the pouring rain twice and my head was completely dry until I had to open the clear shield one notch to prevent fogging. Even then, it really didn't leak on my face due to the small lip at the top where it creates a seal when the shield is fully down.
- The clear shield is very easy to remove and does not require any tools. It locks securely in place as long as you have it installed correctly.
- It looks pretty cool. I thought it looked like a Daft Punk helmet, but I consistently get the fighter pilot description from other people. Particularly so when the sun shield is down.
- Despite the venting issues, I never overheated. Even in 95 degree temps and better.
- I really enjoy the chin latch system. It's very easy to use and I have never had it move from the position I placed it.
- It fits my head well and I've only had two instances where it made my head uncomfortable: Once randomly on my way home from work and again on the back half of a multi-hour 280 mile trip to catch the solar eclipse. Pretty sure I didn't have it set properly on my head because it didn't hurt for the first half.
- The sun shield works great. The lever is smooth and the shield stays down or up when going over bumps. It also has adequate protection even in the direct sunshine at sunset. I have pretty sensitive eyes and I feel confident in those situations.
- There is ample room for my eyeglasses. It has slots for your eye wear, but I don't use them. I can comfortably wear my glasses against my skin and I never get that painful feeling like I do when wearing closed earphones.

My overall feeling is this is a 3 out of 5 stars. It's functional and has nice features for the price. You just have to deal with the annoyances.

I would recommend BUT...
This helmet is great. Before this I had a 3/4 face and I couldn't stand the noise and rocks in the face. I didn't want to commit to a full face so I went to a modular, and this was me testing the water with this style.
So far I've had it for a season and here's what I found.
PROS: Amazing visibility, the sun visor is easy to use and great at eliminating glare, comfortable(This is one of the cheapest/best long oval helmets I could find), styling is nice and clean
CONS: the face release button has already started to show wear(sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't), the lip to get the visor up is at an awkward place making it hard to get to visor up smoothly, the noise is far better from my 3/4 but I still have to wear ear plugs for rides over 45mph, the vents do little but it doesn't get overly hot in the helmet

This helmet was worth the money, because I trust it would save my life. It was a good testing the water helmet, could comfortably wear it for the handful of seasons your supposed to keep a helmet. I would recommend BUT understand this is no Shoei. It has it's little flaws that will get annoying, but never endanger you.

what does this helmet weigh? and what about wind noise comparison? Thanks

BEST ANSWER: My size S is 3lb 9oz which is fairly light for a modular. I used my postal scale accurate to .5oz.
Does this accomodate prescription glasses well?
A shopper on Apr 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Just bought one and received it yesterday. It is not friendly with prescription glasses if the fit is snug- hard to put on glasses. Not much room if you plan on using the inner shades. The pads are not adjustable. It wasnt comfortable when I was trying to squeeze my glasses between my head n the paddings.
Does the helmet have a city detent for the visor?
A shopper on Jan 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The shield has three detent positions. One inch, four inch, and fully open. Hope this helps.
