LA Choppers Riser Extensions For Harley Sportster Forty-Eight

These extensions are the easiest way to extend the risers on your Forty-Eight Sporty. They are CNC-machined from billet aluminum with a gloss black powdercoat black finish. Installation is easy and can usually be performed in under 30 minutes with minimal tools. The best part is that they will work with the stock cables and wires.

Features:

  • Available with a 2" rise
  • 1" diameter clamping area
  • Extended top clamp hardware included
  • Made in the USA
  • Sold in pairs

Note: Extended top clamp hardware is included, but actual top clamp and 1/2" riser bolts are not.

Great product. Direct bolt on.
Product fit perfect. A great and cheap way to raise your 48 bars. Harley store told me I would have to completely re-do the triple tree. Definately not true. Excellent product.

Excellent Product
Got this for my 48 with dragbars. These risers are so easy to install it took me about half an hour with a 15 minute union break. The quality is awesome and everything looks solid.

Pretty badass!
These risers will give your 48 a much more agile feeling. As well as getting you out of the slightly hunched over position of the stock bar position. Very simple to install with no clearance issues whatsoever. The only issue I found is the stock break line was really tight. I had to remove the brake line clip on the flexible portion right of the handles to release what felt like to much tension. Other than that love these!

Great product. I took my XL1200T Super Low in to get an estimate for some apes and was also quoted $1500 for the time and effort, extra lengths of cables etc.
My stock bars are now at shoulder height and I'm 6' 1". No more bending over my tank.
I installed this myself but I should have had another person holding everything in place. Would have been easier.
As someone mentioned earlier you should advertise that this product will also fit the XL1200T super low with some cable clamp adjustments to get that little extra length.
You saved me some big bucks.

Nice monolithic look.
I needed a short handlebar riser kit for my 2016 Sportster 48 so I could sit a bit straighter and not have to lean so far forward. This set was a perfect match. Installation was a bit tricky. An extra set of hands would have been helpful. I also had to adjust the rubber cushions on the front brakeline; however, I was happy to find that the brakeline was long enough and I didn't have to replace it with a longer one. If I had gone to a 3" riser I would have had to replace it. All in all this was a great add on and it looks original.

Extremely Pleased
The folks at Revzilla got these to my door in record time. I needed a bit more space for the brake line with H-D drag bars, and these fit like a glove. They were EXACTLY what I needed. Installation on my Sportster 49 was a snap. Well worth the money. If you want to see what they look like check out my Facebook post where you can see these, the RSD black upper fork covers with boots, and full blowout of motogadåget goodies on the handlebars along with Performance Machine hand controls... all purchased through Revzilla. Awesome people, great stuff!

This product is a great add on
Easy to install. Doesn't change the look of your bike just the comfort of the ride. Give you more clearance if you upgrade the size of your gas tank. Worked great on my wife's 2012 Forty Eight .

Works as advertised!
Bought these as an inexpensive experiment to see how 2 inches would help in making the handlebars a little more comfortable for me. I'm 6'1" for reference. The stock bars are fine but they are pretty low and forward. Combined with the forward controls, I was getting sandwiched into an uncomfortable position.

These bad boys were easy to install, but save yourself a headache and recruit a helping hand to hold the bars while you bolt it on. The brake line is about as taut as it will go now, and I had to let out some slack from the clasp at the bottom of the fork to get it to fit. Other than that it's a solid fit and matches the paint on my 2017 Forty-Eight perfectly.

Definitely changed the feel of the bars for the better. I can sit upright if I want to and I have more control in front. Bar height is still not quite where I want it--shoulder height--but for now these are great until I'm willing to drop the cash on new cables and bar.

Easy upgrade
I was looking for something that would provide me with more comfort without completely changing the look of the handlebars and extending all the cables for the controls. This is the cheapest easiest, do it yourself upgrade that offers full functionality of all existing parts and cables and provides more comfort. No more hunching over on longer rides.

Huuuuge functional improvement
I was able to install these without changing the brake line. The fit and finish are perfect. The bike is far more comfortable and handles much better. The new positioning gives you more confidence in turns and just makes the forty eight a better bike. While the bike looked amazing with the low bars it was a real back wrecker on longer rides. Highly recommended!

I upgraded to the 4.5gal Harley gas tank and was forced to move the mirrors out of the way I'm hoping that with this it will give me the clearance to put the mirrors back and a more comfortable ride.

Do the risers come with new bolts to fit?
Michael W on May 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes they come with the bolts and everything you need for an easy install. My 48 brake line is now a little more tight than I like but have had no problems. Be careful when installing them as the black paint on the handlebar scratches easily. Oops.
Hi,
I have keystone handle bars on my 48 and the break line is a little tight after i loosened the middle bolt. If I get these risers, what length break line would I need to get and if there would be other cables to change?
Michael U on Sep 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: With the stock bars the brake cable is just long enough with the risers. With your keystone bars I would guess you would have to redo brake like cables for sure. Clutch cable may also have to ve redone. I am only running g stock bars with no issues with existing cables. Hope this helps out!
With these risers will the drop down mirrors still clear the tank when the bars are turned all the way lock to lock?
InTheWind on Jul 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would assume yes. I changed my tank to the 4.5 gallon so I had to turn mine up but when I put the risers they almost cleared so if you are running the 2.1 tank still I don't see any clearance issues. I also loosened the brake line in the middle just to get more slack it was really tight.
Can this be paired with the 1" riser for a combination of 3" total? Probably not recommended but I am looking for a 3" rise for my 48 and these seem to be the only ones that will do it without major changes.
A S on May 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This part sits onto the existing clamp on the triple tree and will give you 2" lift from where your handlebar currently sits. This riser kit came with the bolts for installation. So the bottom of the handlebar ends up being 2 1/2 inches off the top of the triple tree. So, it won't get you to a true 3" from where your handlebars currently sit. But I feel your pain - It would be really costly to change out everything. If you end up getting different handlebars, maybe you can get something with a taller rise, but make sure the pullback is good for you too..... Something I figured out a little late. I'm short and it sucks! It did install easily and has helped me reach the handlebars better. Hope this answers your question.
Can the 2 inch risers for the sporster 48 be stacked ?
A shopper on Jul 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Went outside to check and id have to say no now, it wouldnt stack. The top rounds out for the bars. The squared bottom wouldnt match. Would need to be machined a bit.
Hi, Do they fit a street bob 2010 with integrated triple tree?
