Removed before 1st ride
Great idea how to cope with the heat and what they take away from the looks is slight if they did deflect the heat.
But... I got them on and during the reassembly the left wing made it nearly impossible to snap on the left side cover. I had to lift the wing to what I thought was the near breaking point to get the cover under. Then the wing sat on top of the cover in physical contact. Then I noticed that the left wing also came in contact with the spark plug cover and wire, not good.
Discovered there was a little wiggle room with the mount hole but all that did was move the contact to the bottom of the seat and tank and barely off the wire. Tried placing protective tape under the tank, on the side cover.

Put it all back together with wings on, slept on it, and two days later before riding removed them. Just didn't want to chance chipping my custom paint and damaging the plug wire.
Right wing no problem BTW, installed and fit as expected.

They work
These actually work really well. I was getting way to heat and didn't really want to buy into the saddle look so I thought I'd give these a shot. Install was easy and so far they have made riding in 100 degree Florida weather much better on my Chieftain Dark Horse.

I ride my bike into the city of Washington DC daily (to and from work) stop and go traffic causes the engine heat to come straight up and make the temp so much more unbearable. I was told that this was a great way to fix that. we shall see..

Good for heat deflection however makes it difficult to remove and replace side panels. Still worth it in my opinion.

These were advertised to reduce the legendary heat coming from the rear cylinder on the Indian Thunderstroke engines. I did not find them to be very effective.
