Great design but poor warranty follow up from manufacturer
Great design. Mine only worked twice before temperature dropped out on the r.h. grip. Contacted manufacturer but no response. Contacted them again with c.c. Of message to Revzilla. Finally got a response. Asked me to test unit with circuit tester. Did that and reported results, from there endless questions and requests for yet more tests. I think they try to frustrate you with these tactics so that you eventually give up on your warranty claim. Shame because it is a good product, but let down by poor backup. I would not purchase another product from this company.

Nice grips- toasty
Installed on 2012 VStrom DL1000.
The Koso Apollo grips look like they came with the bike. The controls work as advertised. Frankly, I think they look cool. The control at the left thumb is convenient and eliminates the need to put some other farkle on the bar or dash, keeping the cockpit from looking cluttered. Heat is even on both sides. Hi setting is hot but not uncomfortable. Installation is not difficult but take your time. Overall impression is these seem to be well thought out and engineered. Looking forward to putting them to the test over the next few months up here in Wisconsin.

Great product
These grips are great in every way. The only reason I'm commenting is to let other 2014 and up Ninja 1000 owners know - these grips are longer than stock grips. I had to machine a little less than a quarter inch off my bar-ends.

Koso heated grips for Yamaha FJ 09
I initially considered several options for heated grips for my FJ 09 including the OEM (which are $285) and the Oxford and the Koso. The OEM's are nice and fairly easy to install but high priced. I was leaning toward the Oxford's but really did not want the extra controller hanging off the bars. Then the Koso's came out. Price is right and the controller in in the left grip and easy to use. I did run the power for these to a relay and distribution box direct from the battery and mounted under the rear seat lock bracket (dead space) as I do not want any accessory on an un-switched wire with the possibly to drain the battery.
Installing the grips on the bars was good. Installing the clutch side grip requires two people as the grip goes on VERY tight! (other person holds the bars steady). Throttle side goes on loose and requires alot of glue. Make sure you put a rag underneath or you will get glue drips on the side fairing. Make sure you let the glue set for 24 hrs, especially on the throttle side.
As for the Koso's, they have good heat...not as much as I expected but I've never had heated grips on a bike before, only snowmobiles. The heated grips on sleds are WAY hotter. But I'm not riding my FJ in -20 temps either! only been on short rides so far but overall I am pleased.

Not perfect, but close
In terms of packaging, these are about the best non-OEM heated grips out there at the moment. They look and feel very solid (maybe a little too much, but more on that later...), the button is unobtrusive and avoids another box hanging off your bars, and even the wiring is shrouded and as tidy as you can expect from another add-on electrical gizmo. Turning on/off and adjusting without taking your hands off the bars is a nice perk too. It all looks and functions like a clean stock setup.

A few gripes though:

• They could be a little hotter considering how integrated everything is. I'd call the highest setting "pretty warm." My hands still stay pretty cool on colder mornings, and there's really only two times I can remember using anything but the highest setting.
• The fit over the throttle tube was tight to the point of needing a rubber mallet to, er, "coerce" it into place. If I ever need to replace it I'll just have to toss it and buy a new throttle tube, but it also guarantees it'll never slip off. So not entirely a bad thing.
• Probably the biggest downside for me is the rubber itself. It's not that thick and somewhat stiff, which means if you put it on a bike that vibrates a lot and/or needs hefty control inputs, there's almost no padding to cushion your tender little mitts. Granted, I installed these on a Ural Gear-Up which steers like you're arm wrestling a Ukranian bear while sitting on top of a paint mixer, so my situation may be a bit extreme. Still, offroaders in particular should be aware. Squishy gel grips these are not. The rubber is still grippy though, so slipping off the bars isn't an issue.

Overall I'd say these are a slam dunk for smooth-ish street bikes, but just be aware if these are going to see rougher duty, you're going to be trading one kind of comfort for another.

The look is amazing!
The look is nice and clean however to get the left grip on my pro taper evo bars but the second hardest and most frustrating installs on the bike so far. With that being said now that their on and functional I love them and hope they last for a long time.

These Things Are Awesome!
I ordered these up a couple weeks ago, and finally installed them last weekend. They're a little more expensive than Oxford's but they look great! I'd say you'd be hard pressed to tell they weren't stock.

The five-level heating is a nice feature. Especially when you're just looking to take the edge off during an early commute.

I highly recommend!

Awesome Grips!
I put these on my 2014 DL1000. They are MUCH better than oxfords and with the integrated switch it keeps your handle bars open for other accessories. I have 20,000 miles on the bike and I'm installing them on my Victory too.

These grips work great. Easy to install and easy to operate. The only down side to these are sometimes when reaching for turn signal or horn I bump the power button and turn them on (or up if already on).
