Do not touch the inside!
These visors are great! They are strong and look amazing, they don't fade. The only thing that I absolutely hate about icon visors is the anti fog coating. Whatever you do do not wipe the inside of the visor! Even when it builds up mass amounts of condensation. If you have to clean the visor soak it in hot soapy water, and dry with air do not wipe the inside!! The outside hold up great but as soon as the coating is wiped it gets deep gouges that make it next to impossible to see out of. Only the inside does this, the outside of my visors have held up great to rocks, rain, bugs, you name it. They are easy to install and look killer.

Light smoke... this should've came with the helmet
After a day or two with painful sun in my eyes with the stock clear shield plus sunglasses, I ordered the light smoke pronto. Something had to be done.
Turns out this quite a bit darker than it looks on screen, and that's great. I'm very light-sensitive and usually wear extremely dark glasses, even in the car. With this shield I'm able to comfortably ride in full sunlight, with no glasses, and no squinting.
Visibility is great, it's almost like not having a face shield at all. It's really great not needing glasses for the first time.

Unique look
I have the gold mirror face shield for my Airframe Pro Barong and it looks great! Unlike some of the other reviews I don't have a reflection problem. The tint is sufficiently dark to wear in Florida's bright sun.
The only con is keeping it clean. Smudges very easily when installing it, even after washing my hands. Otherwise I'm very pleased with it.
I also have the dark smoke and clear face shields. I'm happy with them except for the smudging problem.

Icon rst red shield
Overall the shield is good, I would buy another one. Really the only thing is fingerprints are a nightmare with the mirror finish. It looks good but you just have to clean it after every ride to keep it looking nice.

Great Replacement
I would have given it 5 stars but it arrived slightly bent. It easily pops out because of pressure if the visor is pulled up all the way on the right side but the original clear visor does not pop out and fits perfect.

RST Silver Mirror Face Shield
When looking for a new face shield, I wanted something to hide my face when riding. Unless I am in direct sunlight, it hides my face pretty well (according to others).
After reviewing some the posts, I was a bit hesitant to purchase the RST Silver Mirror due to issues regarding the anti-fog, face reflection, and being able to see through the mask.
I am not sure how some of these dudes are breathing, but my helmet shield does not fog. Additionally, I do see my reflection in my face shield, like a x10 mirror, but only when the sun is beating down, directly on my face. Even still, it does not bother me enough to lower my rating. Obviously it is bothersome for others. Again, I think it is also nice that it covers my face from being seen when sitting at stop lights or driving around at low speeds.
I also used it at night and did not have trouble seeing as my headlights were bright enough to light everything up. My only issue, when riding around dusk, is that my anti-glare glasses were not playing well with the shield. It caused some viewing issues, which were mainly an annoyance, like seeing multiples of things. I think it has to do with the anti-glare film on my glasses. Once it got dark, I did not notice it anymore.

So, from the outside you can actually see through to the inside a little bit. From the inside you can see your own face? Seriously? What is happening?!? I guess I'm going to send it back, argh!

I got this for my Icon Airmada helmet. It fits and looks good. A bit pricey but it seems all face shields fall into that category.

BEST ANSWER: I don't have a pic but I can tell you it looks great. It's more opaque up close but from a few feet away you can't see the riders face. Very nice looking on the helmet. Highly recommend.

Does anyone have the Chamelon? Wanting to know how it looks in real life as opposed to the picture.
BEST ANSWER: The chameleon looks very much like the picture. It has several colors which you see, depending on the angle at which you are viewing. The colors are purple, blue and green/turquoise. It has a slightly mirrored finish, but not so much that it blocks observers from seeing the face of the wearer. It blocks sun to some extent, but not as much as the truly mirrored finishes. I would compare its light blocking properties to that of the light smoke, or perhaps a little less. If you want strong light blocking, or stealth for your face, it would not be the shield for you.

Do I need to purchase the side plates or can I use the ones that came with the helmet?
BEST ANSWER: You can use the side plates that came with the helmet. The only disadvantage to this, is changing them over each time you put your other lens on (if you have two shields: day and night). Other than that, you can ride without side plates, though a whistling noise has been reported when doing this.

Does anyone know what plastic this face shield is made from? I am trying to figure out if it is UV resistant, or if I need to wear sunscreen. Thx
BEST ANSWER: When I combine my shield with sunglasses every white car looks pink, so I think there is some type of protection. You could always go ride for a bit, not long enough to burn, and see if you look a little more tan. I've never noticed any type of tan line or sunburn on my face even after riding all day.

How does the light smoke shield fare in direct sunlight and also at night?
BEST ANSWER: I have used the light smoke and the dark smoke visors. I prefer the light smoke, even for bright sunlight. It works great from there all the way down to dusk. Once it starts getting dark out, you will want to switch to a clear visor.
That said, I have ridden at night with the light smoke. It is doable, but I never feel really safe doing it. In a jam, you'll be fine, but I wouldn't make a habit of it.
The dark smoke is really dark and only good in bright conditions. If it is dusk, rainy, overcast, you will want something lighter. It is useless at night.

Does anyone have the chameleon tint? What is the difference between that and say silver rst?
BEST ANSWER: The rst silver has much more reflective properties, and blocks more sunlight. The chameleon has slight reflective properties, but outside observers can still see your face behind the shield. It moderately blocks sunlight, not nearly as much as the rst silver, or any of the rst shields.

BEST ANSWER: Yes they are fog free. It used to state that in the description but it seems to be missing now. They are not "Ice Free" in Sub Freezing TempZ though ! They told me riding a sport bike below zero degrees I needed a Snowmobile helmet and maybe see a Psych Doc..... >;OP

Is the silver mirrored shield tinted? How is it in day? Is it manageable around dusk?
BEST ANSWER: I have the blue silver tinted face shield and yes it is tinted in the inside as well. The tint is not too dark during the daytime, almost like wearing a pair of sunglasses. As far as nighttime driving I personally do not like to drive with the shield down it is difficult to see the road due to the tint.
I would definitely recommend it but just remember not to use Windex to clean your face shield it will break down your tint on both sides.
